Abstract

According to UNESCO, the literacy level in Indonesia is still relatively low, with a reading interest index of 0.001. This shows that only one in 10,000 children in Indonesia is interested in reading. Improving literacy is challenging because it requires a comprehensive strategy, especially related to cultural literacy. Increasing cultural literacy is influenced by the learning process. Students who have good cultural literacy will have the capital to learn and be ready to face future challenges related to cultural diversity. The ability to adapt in learning is an important aspect that teachers and students must have in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Elementary school teachers' ability to adapt to technological devices influences digital literacy skills. Therefore, resilience is needed to adapt positively in the digital era when faced with various kinds of problems. The aim of this PKM is to assist the Primary School Teacher Working Group (SD KKG) in increasing students' digital resilience and literacy in Bantul Regency, DIY.

Abstract

AbstractThe concept of educational equity is exciting and much discussed in educational studies. Although it appears as a simple concept, equitable education contains quite complex problems that take more work to solve satisfactorily. This study aims to examine the complexity of the concept of educational equity. This study uses a systematic literature review of scientific articles available on four open-access article provider sites. The results of this study indicate that there are many problems with equity in education because the educational facilities and staff available still need to be expanded and match the population. Equal education does not mean trying to provide the same amount of education for everyone but providing education to people who deserve to get the education itself. Poverty cannot be separated from the issue of educational equity. Some parties argue that education can overcome the problem of poverty, while others argue that poverty must be resolved first before making efforts to equalize education.

Abstract

Culture-based mathematics learning (C-bMLI) has emerged as a promising approach to improving students' mathematical skills, yet previous research presents inconsistent findings regarding its efficacy compared to conventional methods. To address this gap, a meta-analytic study is needed to consolidate and present the latest insights regarding the impact of C-bMLI on students' mathematical skills. It also aimed to discern the factors influencing the effectiveness of C-bMLI implementation. Datasets were collected from primary studies published in internationally recognized journals or proceedings. By rigorously adhering to inclusion criteria, a collection of 45 effect sizes from 25 primary studies was identified. The results of this analysis, conducted using the random-effects approach, produced a substantial combined effect size of  and . The evidence unequivocally substantiated that the employment of C-bMLI significantly contributed to the mathematical process, standing as a superior alternative to conventional learning methodologies. The results of the heterogeneity analysis of the moderator variables showed that factors such as the type of skills, educational tiers, country, publication year, and the variant of C-bMLI contributed to the observed variance, The variable of sample size did not exert a discernible impact on the effectiveness of the learning model.

Abstract

The development of tolerance is the main component of Early Childhood Education in Child-Friendly Schools (ECE-CFS). This study aimed to examine the types and quantity distribution of best practices implemented by ECE-CFS to develop tolerance in early childhood. This research used a qualitative approach involving 102 (one hundred and two) ECE-CFS teachers as respondents. Respondents answered 5 questions via Google Forms. Data were analyzed using the open coding and axial coding approach of the Corbin & Strauss model. The results show 19 (nineteen) types of best practices in developing tolerance in ECE-CFS. The dominant types include habituation activities, providing examples, and organizing special activities. The perspective of progressivism philosophy, the characteristics of an emancipatory curriculum, and the optimization of social capital are discussed to provide recommendations to develop tolerance in ECE-CFS.

Abstract

The disaster-safe education unit program still has various obstacles in its implementation so that the main objectives of the disaster-safe education unit program have not been realized. The purpose of this research is to find solutions to obstacles to the implementation of the disaster safe education unit program in the perspective of social cognitive theory. This type of research is qualitative with a literature review data collection method. This research uses a type of realist review, because it wants to interpret the real conditions of disaster-safe education units and then provide reinforcement and/or solutions if weaknesses are found. The results showed that based on social cognitive theory, in order for the Disaster Safe Education Unit (DSEU) program to realize its main objectives, there needs to be mutual interaction between students' personal selves, the behavior of school leaders, teachers and parents, and the environment that represents disaster resilience. Because social cognitive theory believes that students will imitate the habits of school leaders, teachers and parents. Therefore, school leaders, teachers and parents who behave in a disaster resilient manner will be recorded and implemented by students. The results of students' recording of the behavior of teachers and parents, then supported by a disaster resilient environment, will produce a generation that is resilient to disasters.

Abstract

Poor management of the education system can cause a decrease in school quality. Moreover, the increasing of similar institutions in early childhood education (ECE) in Indonesia gives a school must have good resilience. These institutions must ensure that the educational programs they provide to children are of high quality, thus earning the trust of preschool parents. This article aimed to highlight the importance of paying attention to school management. Therefore, schools that already have good resilience need to be studied to have an impact on schools that are in the stagnant category. The method used was a case study with in-depth interviews. The results indicate that the resilience schools use four strategies to remain resilient. These strategies include having quality human resources, unique school programs, and school promotion. The research results highlight the importance of quality human resource management, superior programs such as foreign language learning and international curricula, and effective promotion in maintaining the resilience of educational institutions amidst competition.

Abstract

The aim of this qualitative research is to describe the thinking process as a profile of students' mathematical computational thinking (CT) skills in terms of CT attitudes. The subjects in this study were 66 junior high school students in grade IX. There were three students taken by purposive sampling based on high, medium, and low CT attitude. The main research instrument was the researcher, while the auxiliary instruments were mathematical CT ability test and CT attitude scale questionnaire. Data analysis included 3 stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The data credibility test used triangulation techniques, namely tests and interviews. The results showed that subjects with high CT attitude were able to show all indicators of CT ability, namely abstraction, problem decomposition, algorithmic thinking and generalisation and pattern recognition. However, subjects with moderate and low CT attitudes were only able to show one of these indicators, namely abstraction. Based on the results of this study, researchers will create a mathematics learning model to develop CT skills, especially for number pattern material.
