Abstract

Motivation is the main driver of learning success. Based on A Theory of Human Motivation proposed by Abraham Maslow, motivation grows gradually when basic human needs such as feeling safe, valued, and self-actualization are met. In the context of Indonesian education, which is currently transforming, harmony between fulfilling students' basic needs and technological innovation is an important key to creating a healthy and meaningful learning climate. This article examines how Maslow's principles can be applied in the school environment to increase motivation and build student resilience, namely, their ability to recover from difficulties and remain enthusiastic about learning. In the digital era, artificial intelligence (AI) is opening new paths in education by providing adaptive learning that is able to recognize individual learning needs personally and contextually. AI not only makes the learning process easier but also strengthens the human aspect of education: building empathy, self-confidence, and resilience in students. Although Maslow's theory has drawn criticism, his basic thinking remains relevant as a foundation for forming education that is more responsive, fair, and in favour of the needs of the whole person.

Abstract

This study investigates multicultural attitudes among 168 ECE teacher candidates from four state Islamic universities in Indonesia, using a quantitative descriptive design and the Multicultural Attitudes Survey for Teachers. Results indicate a high average multicultural attitude score of 74.12, with candidates demonstrating confidence in managing multicultural classrooms and promoting cultural pride among children. However, their attitudes are primarily based on personal interactions rather than formal coursework. Interviews with 27 respondents further explore multicultural education practices during teaching practicum, revealing a need for improved collaboration with parents and greater emphasis on multicultural education in both teacher education and ECE curricula. Practical implications include integrating multicultural education into teacher education programs, fostering experiential learning for attitude development, and expanding multicultural education coverage in ECE curricula to enhance children's multicultural awareness.

The purpose of this research was to describe the profile of multicultural awareness of the students' of Yogyakarta State University (UNY). The quantitative approach is used as the main method and the qualitative approach as the secondary method. The research population was students of Yogyakarta State University with a total of 29983 people. Multistage random sampling was conducted by dividing the population into two parts, namely groups of exact science students and social-humanities students, then the samples were taken. The sampling technique using the Lemeshow formula, obtained a sample of  95.73. To avoid a dropout of responses, the number of samples was rounded up to 200 people for each group of exact science students and social-humanities students with a total of 400 students for both groups. The data collection technique used a questionnaire which was adopted from the questionnaire developed by Tim Zamroni et al. Data analysis was quantitative analysis using T-test statistics. The results indicate that there are differences of the students'multicultural awareness based on scientific backgrounds, such as social humanities and science. This difference shows that scientific backgrounds can form different multicultural awareness. Socio-cultural background influences multicultural experiences in cultural communication and adaptation in social interactions. A holistic program is requiered to strengthen multi-cultural awareness among generation Z.

Abstract

Inequality is a condition characterized by an unbalanced assessment process. Physical and psychological factors, both those measuring and those being measured, may impact assessment inequality. The purpose of this research was to highlight the potential inequity in the performance assessment of madrasas in underdeveloped areas. A quantitative research design was employed. The data were collected using a questionnaire instrument that had been proven valid and reliable.  Path analysis was used to determine both direct and indirect effects. The findings showed that measurement errors related to the instruments used have a direct positive effect on inequality in the performance assessment of madrasas in underdeveloped areas, as well as an indirect effect mediated through teacher quality. One alternative solution to reducing the imbalance in assessing the performance of madrasas in underdeveloped areas can be implemented through policy dimensions, including macro, meso, and micro dimensions.
