Abstract

AbstractThe phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) is increasingly prevalent among teenagers, especially in the culture of hanging out at coffee shops. This study analyzes how Kurasu Coffee in South Jakarta becomes part of a youth lifestyle influenced by FOMO. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and Edmund Husserl’s phenomenology, this research explores the social meanings teenagers assign to coffee shops as symbols of status, productivity, and social media trends. Data was collected through observation and in-depth interviews with seven informants active on social media and in coffee shop culture. The findings reveal that FOMO drives teenagers to follow coffee shop trends to maintain social existence. Coffee shops are seen not only as places to relax but also as spaces for self-expression through fashion, social media content, and interaction. From the perspective of symbolic interactionism, coffee shops serve as arenas where social meaning and identity are shaped, while also encouraging consumptive and hedonistic behavior among youth. Keywords: FOMO; Coffee shop; Lifestyle; Symbolic Interaction; Phenomenology.

Abstract

Social studies learning methods require methods that can integrate cognitive and spiritual aspects. This research aims to improve the understanding of class VII students at SMP Qur'an Al-Muanawiyah on the material knowing the location of residence in the Social Sciences (IPS) subject through applying the prophetic education approach introduced by Kuntowijoyo. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with two cycles, namely cycle I using conventional learning methods and cycle II applying Kuntowijoyo's prophetic education approach. Data was collected through tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The research results showed a significant increase in students' understanding after implementing the prophetic education approach, with the average student score increasing by 47.63%. In addition, there was an increase in students' active participation in class discussions, especially in spiritual reflection. Students begin to integrate concepts such as caliphate and trust into their reflections, seeing the environment as a spiritual responsibility that must be safeguarded. The majority of students also plan to take real action to preserve the environment. This research proves that Kuntowijoyo's prophetic educational approach to social studies learning can improve students' academic understanding while fostering spiritual awareness that encourages environmental conservation.

Abstract

For over three centuries, Kabupaten Bangka Tengah in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province has relied on tin mining and fisheries as the primary economic drivers. However, with shifting development priorities, the local government has begun to accelerate the growth of other sectors, including Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). As part of this effort, the Community Service Program (KKN) team from Universitas Pertiba Bangka Belitung conducted activities in Batu Belubang Village, Kecamatan Pangkalanbaru, aimed at exploring and enhancing the potential of local MSME products. Among these, Rusip Kering—a distinctive local product with significant potential but limited market recognition—stood out. Through educational programs and training focused on online marketing and packaging management, it is anticipated that MSME products like Rusip Kering can reach broader markets. This initiative is expected to positively impact the development of MSMEs in the village and contribute to the overall improvement of community welfare. This study underscores the importance of economic diversification in Kabupaten Bangka Tengah by developing the MSME sector as a new economic pillar for the region.

Abstract

The World Trade Organization (WTO) agreements have a broad and complex impact on its member countries, especially regarding trade policy and global economic justice. Legal challenges in implementing these agreements, including harmonization between national and international law, as well as domestic political and economic dynamics, add to the complexity of their implementation. In addition, the WTO agreements also offer significant opportunities for member countries, such as wider market access and increased foreign investment. This study aims to analyze the long-term impact of the WTO agreements on trade policy, economic justice, and sustainable development in its member countries. This study uses a qualitative approach, with data obtained from various relevant sources such as research results and previous studies, which are then processed and analyzed in depth. The results show that the WTO agreements significantly shape the direction of member countries' future trade policies, with a greater impact felt by developing countries. Global economic injustice has emerged as one of the consequences of the implementation of these agreements, where developed countries are better able to utilize WTO provisions. On the other hand, the environmental and social impacts of implementing the WTO agreements are concerns that require better integration into trade policy. Projections of future challenges suggest that the WTO must continue to adapt to global changes to remain relevant and effective. Overall, this study highlights the need for a balance between trade liberalization and the protection of social and environmental values within the WTO framework.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of law and the form of liability of offenders in collective narcotics crimes as reflected in the District Court Decision of Mentok Number 35/Pid.Sus/2025/PN Mtk. The research method used is normative legal research with a case approach and statutory approach. The primary data are obtained from court decisions and Law Number 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, supported by secondary legal materials such as legal literature and academic journals. The results show that Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) point 1 of the Indonesian Penal Code was applied to prosecute the defendants who collectively committed the illegal distribution of Class I narcotics in the form of 55 kilograms of marijuana. Although the defendants had different levels of involvement, the court imposed heavy collective sentences, reasoning that their participation was active and organized. Nevertheless, the proportionality of sentencing among the defendants remains a legal concern regarding the implementation of the principle of justice in criminal law. This finding emphasizes the importance of assessing the degree of culpability and individual role in determining criminal liability within collective narcotics offenses.
