Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the modernization of the city of Batam on the existence of the Malay House Limas Potong. The method used in this research is historical research. The steps in this research are heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of the study show that the very first simple industrial concept in Batam, which began in 1898, was the Pertuan Muda of Riau, Raja Muhammad Yusuf-Ahmadi on behalf of the Riau Lingga Kingdom, who granted part of Batam Island land to King Abdullah, Raja Ali Kelana and Raja Muhammad Thahir. In 1978 B.J Habibie changed the course of Batam's development. Batam was transformed into the direction of industrial, service, trade, transhipment and tourism. The Malay House Limas Potong once dominated the architectural forms of houses in Batam City. Currently, the construction of a Malay house with the traditional architecture of the Malay House Limas Potong is no longer a prima donna. Construction efficiency, land availability, difficulty in obtaining raw materials, and up to the development of today's architectural models have changed a lot. The only Malay House Limas Potong currently in Batam City is in Kampung Melayu, Nongsa District.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the influence of blended learning model and critical thinking on students’ learning outcomes in acrylic removable partial denture theory course. The research was preceded by designing a blended lesson on acrylic removable partial denture theory course using the ASSURE learning model by considering objective conditions in the Department of Dental Engineering, Health Polytechnic, Ministry of Health, Jakarta II. Experiment was used as the research method with 2x2 treatment by level design. The data analysis was carried out using two- way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The results of the research found that students’ learning outcomes in the blended learning acrylic removable partial denture theory course were generally better than face-to-face learning, especially in the group of students with high critical thinking. The group of students with low critical thinking did not produce significantly different results.

Abstract

Background: Multibacillary (MB) leprosy features high bacillary load and an immunoregulatory milieu. Methods: A comparative cross-sectional study enrolled 70 participants (MB = 35; controls = 35). Categorical variables were compared with Chi-square/Fisher’s exact tests; medians with Mann–Whitney U. Spearman’s rank correlations were computed within groups. Results: Age did not differ (p = 0.458 and p = 1.000), whereas occupation and education did (p = 0.038 and p = 0.029). The Bacterial Index (BI) was markedly higher in MB (median 3 [IQR 4]) than controls (0 [0]; p < 0.001). IL-10 levels were higher in MB (1.97 [4.30] pg/mL) versus controls (1.12 [1.96] pg/mL; p = 0.033). In MB, BI correlated positively with IL-10 (ρ = 0.357; p = 0.035). Conclusions: MB patients exhibit substantially higher bacillary burden and elevated IL-10 relative to controls. The positive BI–IL-10 association in MB supports a tolerogenic immune profile linked to bacterial load, while PGE₂ showed limited discriminatory value in this sample. Larger, adjusted studies are warranted to validate these relationships and explore their clinical utility.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at the senior high school level requires active and inclusive approaches to accommodate students’ diverse intelligence profiles and to promote comprehensive internalization of Islamic values. One relevant approach is kinesthetic learning based on multiple intelligences. This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by PAI teachers in designing, implementing, and evaluating kinesthetic learning based on multiple intelligences at SMA Negeri 2 Palembang, as well as to identify its impact on students’ engagement and understanding. This research adopts a qualitative method with a case study approach. The findings indicate that PAI teachers integrate kinesthetic approaches with bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, and intrapersonal intelligences through activities such as Islamic history role-playing, Qur’anic memorization through movement, and collaborative group work. Despite challenges related to classroom management and limited facilities, these strategies effectively enhance students’ participation and internalization of religious values. The study concludes that the effectiveness of kinesthetic learning in Islamic education largely depends on teachers’ creativity, the alignment of instructional models with students’ intelligence profiles, and sustained institutional support and pedagogical training.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of women’s education in Indonesia through the educational thought of Rahmah El-Yunusiyah, a pioneering reformer who established the Diniyah Putri in Padang Panjang. Her initiatives emerged from a socio-historical context in which women had limited access to formal education due to patriarchal norms and colonial structures. The purpose of this study is to analyze Rahmah’s holistic and integrative educational concept, which combines religious sciences, general knowledge, character formation, and practical life skills as a comprehensive system for empowering Muslim women. Using a qualitative approach with literature and historical methods, this research draws upon primary sources—such as archival records, biographical documents, and early curricula of Diniyah Putri—alongside secondary scholarly works. The findings reveal that Rahmah successfully shifted the paradigm of women’s education from a domestic-centered model to a progressive framework that positions women as active agents in social and religious life. Her pedagogical model emphasizes moral integrity, intellectual competence, and social responsibility, making Diniyah Putri a pioneering institution of Islamic women’s education in Southeast Asia. The study concludes that Rahmah’s ideas remain highly relevant for contemporary educational development, offering a strategic foundation for strengthening the role of Muslim women as empowered, independent, and contributive members of society.

Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy is a natural biological process that is crucial in a woman's life. During this time, women face various challenges, ranging from drastic physical changes, hormonal fluctuations, the responsibilities of being a mother-to-be, to concerns about fetal safety and the delivery process. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between sleep patterns and anxiety among pregnant women in the BLUD UPTD Atari Jaya Community Health Center (Puskesmas Atari Jaya) work area. Methods: This study was quantitative and designed using an observational cross-sectional approach. The population was 139 pregnant women at the UPTD Atari Jaya Community Health Center. The sample was 58 pregnant women at the Obstetrics Polyclinic within the UPTD Atari Jaya Community Health Center. The chi-square test was used in the bivariate analysis. Results: Of the 58 respondents, the sleep patterns of pregnant women were mostly in the good category (27 respondents (46.6%). Of the 58 respondents, the anxiety of pregnant women was mostly in the not anxious category (30 respondents (51.7%). The data analysis results obtained an X2 value of 15.237 (greater than the X2 table value of 12.592) and a p-value of 0.018 (? 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between sleep patterns and anxiety among pregnant women in the BLUD UPTD Atari Jaya Health Center Work Area.
