Abstract

Abstract

Traditional teaching methods in Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) often result in passive learning and low student engagement, particularly in rural elementary schools. This study investigated the effectiveness of Canva media implementation in enhancing fourth-grade students' PPKn learning outcomes at SDN 2 Dolo. A Classroom Action Research design following the Kemmis and McTaggart model was employed across two intervention cycles. Thirteen fourth-grade students (8 males, 5 females) participated in the study. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, structured observation sheets for teacher and student activities, and documentation. Quantitative data were analyzed using individual and classical absorption capacity formulas, while qualitative data were analyzed descriptively and categorized. Student mastery rates increased substantially from 15.38% (pre-test) to 38.46% (Cycle I) and 92.30% (Cycle II), with class average scores improving from 58.46 to 86.15. Teacher activity improved from 69.53% (Fair) to 93.75% (Very Good), while student engagement increased from 76.78% (Good) to 94.64% (Very Good). Classical learning completeness in Cycle II (92.30%) exceeded the 75% success criterion. Systematic implementation of Canva media significantly enhances PPKn learning outcomes by transforming abstract civic concepts into concrete, visual, and interactive learning experiences. The cyclical action research approach proved effective for instructional improvement and teacher professional development.

Abstract

This community service activity is motivated by the importance of improving elementary school teachers' competencies in designing differentiated learning, given the challenges faced in meeting the diverse needs of students. In Tanantovea District, many teachers do not fully understand the concept and application of effective differentiated learning. The purpose of this activity is to improve teachers' skills in designing and implementing differentiated learning through a learning community approach. Research focused on quantitative aspects aims to provide a systematic and factual overview of the factors, characteristics, and relationships between phenomena. Qualitative research is viewed as a process of exploring and strengthening predictions about phenomena based on field data. Following this activity, there was a significant increase in teachers' understanding and skills in designing differentiated learning. Teachers demonstrated improved skills in adapting teaching materials to the diverse needs of students in differentiated lesson plans using word walls. Furthermore, the former learning community strengthened collaboration among teachers and enabled them to share experiences and solutions to challenges. Post-test results indicated an increase in teachers' practical abilities in implementing more interactive and relevant differentiated learning techniques. This activity successfully improved elementary school teachers' competency in designing differentiated learning through a learning community approach, which has proven effective in supporting teacher professional development.

Abstract

Low learning outcomes in elementary-level social studies courses frequently arises from instructional approaches dominated by teachers, which restrict pupils from independently exploring and internalizing subject concepts. This condition demands the implementation of more innovative learning models to encourage student participation and understanding. This research aims to examine the impact of the inquiry-based instructional approach on the academic results of 6th grade pupils in social studies at SD Inpres 1 Tanamodindi. The investigation included 26 participants from class VI B, selected through purposive sampling, with evidence gathered via assessment tests and documentation. Findings indicated that student mean scores rose from 45.19 prior to intervention to 72.11 after intervention. Statistical analysis using the t-test produced a significance level of 0.000, below the threshold of 0.05, leading to rejection of H0 and confirmation of Ha. Consequently, it can be inferred that the inquiry learning approach significantly influences academic performance in grade six social studies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by flashcard media on students’ learning outcomes in Indonesian language learning. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest model. The population and sample consisted of all fourth-grade students at SDN 4 Sindue in the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 27 students. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and interviews. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS version 29. The results showed that the average pretest score was 49.70, while the posttest average score increased to 80.96. The paired sample t-test analysis indicated a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.001, which is lower than 0.05. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by flashcard media has a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes in Indonesian language learning for fourth-grade students at SDN 4 Sindue.

Abstract

Based on the research and data analysis, it was found that the application of the role-playing method can improve students' self-confidence. This was known because before the action, the level of self-confidence of students only reached 50%. After the first cycle of action, the average percentage of students' self-confidence increased by 57.35%. Then, in the second cycle, it increased again to 75%. The results of student activity observations in the first cycle obtained a percentage of 64.44% and in the second cycle obtained 71.11%. Meanwhile, the results of student activity observations in the second cycle, the first meeting obtained a percentage of 77.77% and the second meeting obtained 88.88%. The results of teacher activity observations in the first cycle, the first meeting obtained 71.11% and the second meeting obtained 77.77%, while in the second cycle, the first meeting obtained 82.22% and the second meeting obtained 91.11%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the role-playing method can improve the self-confidence of Class IV B students at SD Inpres 5 Taipa Laga.
