Abstract

This study explores the impact of religious values on Muslim consumers' behavior toward green financing and eco-friendly products within the framework of Islamic economics. The research utilized a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey method, surveying 250 Muslim consumers from urban areas in Indonesia. A structured questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale was employed to measure religiosity and eco-friendly purchasing behavior. The multiple regression analysis showed that religiosity significantly influences green purchasing behavior, with higher religiosity scores correlating with greater engagement in environmentally conscious purchasing decisions. Additionally, the t-test and ANOVA revealed significant differences between Sharia-compliant and non-Sharia-compliant groups, with the Sharia-compliant group exhibiting stronger eco-friendly purchasing behavior. These findings suggest that Islamic principles related to environmental stewardship, such as Khalifa (guardianship of the earth) and Israf (avoiding wastefulness), play a significant role in shaping consumer attitudes toward sustainability. The study concludes that religious values are a crucial determinant of green purchasing behavior and that incorporating these values into sustainability initiatives can effectively promote eco-friendly behavior, especially in communities where religion plays a central role. Policymakers and educators can leverage religious frameworks to foster sustainability and encourage more responsible consumer behavior in Muslim-majority communities.

Abstract

This article examines how social media is utilised to enhance broader political participation among young people. The study employed a descriptive survey design using a Google Form, complemented by in-depth interviews conducted between September and December 2024. The participants consisted of 356 Generation Z individuals in Pekanbaru City, including first-time student voters and pre-voters. Data were analysed using descriptive techniques based on survey responses, expressed as percentages. The findings reveal three main typologies. First, social media functions as the primary source of political information due to its accessibility, practicality, up-to-date content, comprehensive coverage, and visually engaging format. Second, social media serves as a medium for political communication, where individuals engage by following political accounts, commenting on posts, or passively consuming content that still influences their daily discussions. Third, social media serves as a platform for political expression, as evidenced by reactions such as likes, dislikes, content sharing, and reporting. The study suggests that voter education actors should optimise their social media presence by producing engaging, accessible content aligned with current trends, such as podcasts, short videos, reels, and interactive Q&A formats. Collaboration with educational institutions and youth communities is also essential. Ultimately, these strategies aim to foster meaningful political participation among Generation Z, extending beyond electoral involvement to more active non-electoral engagement.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the importance of preparing pre-voters to become intelligent and participatory beginner voters, through an integrated voter education model. This solution was born from the fact that in general voter education only aggressively targets first-time voters during the election stage. This research was carried out by the Pekanbaru City KPU and the Kampar Regency KPU as well as several secondary schools in Pekanbaru City and Kampar Regency. The research used a qualitative design with descriptive methods, with research informants including KPU commissioners, Election Smart House Managers, and Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) teachers at schools. Research data was collected through observation, interviews, FGD and documentation studies. The research results found that: (1) the absence of a sustainable voter education program to prepare pre-voters to become politically literate beginner voters. Voter education in schools is generally carried out during the election stage, with the theme of socialization; (2) there is no cooperation for the implementation of sustainable voter education (3) an integrated voter education model is needed to combine collaboration between the actors of political education and the PPKn’s teachers as a means of learning about elections and democracy in schools to strengthen students’ political literacy as pre-voters.
