Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of substituting tapioca flour with cassava flour on the organoleptic quality of chicken meatballs. The experiment was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were substitution levels of tapioca flour with cassava flour, namely A = 0% (control), B = 25%, C = 50%, D = 75%, and E = 100%. The parameters observed included organoleptic tests covering color, taste, aroma, and texture, which were evaluated by semi-trained panelists using a hedonic scale. The results showed that cassava flour substitution had a significant effect on the organoleptic quality of chicken meatballs. The treatment with a 50% substitution level (C) obtained the highest scores across all parameters, particularly in texture and chewiness, and was preferred compared to other treatments. Substitution levels above 75% tended to decrease the organoleptic quality, producing a coarser texture and a less desirable aroma. Therefore, the use of cassava flour as a tapioca substitute up to a level of 50% can be applied as an economical alternative raw material while maintaining the organoleptic quality of chicken meatballs.

Abstract

Jantung adalah organ vital yang mengatur aliran darah ke seluruh tubuh, dengan denyut jantung sebagai indikator kesehatan. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi efektivitas sensor detak jantung HW-827 dengan variasi warna LED (merah, jingga, hijau, biru) dalam mengukur denyut jantung. Sensor menggunakan cahaya untuk mendeteksi perubahan volume darah setiap kali jantung memompa darah. Tahapan penelitian meliputi perancangan perangkat keras dengan modifikasi warna LED, perancangan perangkat lunak menggunakan Arduino IDE, serta pengujian dan pengambilan data dari responden dalam kondisi normal. Data diambil 10 kali untuk setiap warna LED. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa LED merah memberikan hasil BPM tertinggi (98,5 BPM), diikuti LED jingga (94 BPM), sedangkan LED hijau (54,8 BPM) dan biru (46,7 BPM) memberikan hasil lebih rendah. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa semakin lebar panjang gelombang cahaya, nilai BPM yang terukur cenderung meningkat. Kesimpulannya, variasi warna LED pada sensor HW-827 mempengaruhi hasil pengukuran BPM, dengan LED hijau asli memberikan hasil paling mendekati kondisi ideal. Penelitian ini penting untuk memahami pengaruh modifikasi warna LED pada performa sensor detak jantung dan perlu dipertimbangkan dalam pengembangan sensor yang lebih akurat dan andal.

The majority of the population of Bogak Village works as fishermen, with 76% of them involved in fishing. The dominant fishing gear used is gill nets, with a total of 500 units. This study was conducted in Bogak Village in 2023 to determine the investment spent by fishermen, the total costs, income, and profits they obtain, and to analyze the feasibility of fishing efforts using gill nets. This research method is a survey method with 21 fishermen as respondents. The results indicate two criteria for the type of fishing business: using 5 GT and 10 GT fleets. The investment for a 5 GT fleet is IDR 78,991,375.00, while a 10 GT fleet costs IDR 232,150,972.22. The total cost of the 5 GT fleet is IDR 525,031,138.89 / year, and the 10 GT fleet is IDR 776,833,809.52 / year. The income of the 5 GT fleet is IDR 581,760,000.00/year, and the 10 GT fleet is IDR 904,106,666.67/year. The profit of the 5 GT fleet is IDR56,728,861.11/year, and the 10 GT fleet is IDR127,272,857.14/year. Based on the feasibility analysis of the gillnet fishing business, both fleet sizes (5 GT and 10 GT) have proven to be profitable with an R/C value above 1. This indicates that the company is feasible to continue and develop. Overall, investing in a larger fleet provides more promising economic prospects for fishermen

Abstract

Transformers are critical component in electric power system, where minimizing energy losses is essential for efficiency and reliability. While ideal transformers operate with zero losses, practical transformers dissipate energy through winding and core losses caused by resistive heating. This study investigates the impact of three cooling media with ambient air, mineral oil, and liquid nitrogen on the efficiency and thermal performance of a 1 kVA single phase copper wound transformer. The experiment applied a resistive load under each cooling condition, recording input and output parameters using a HIOKI power meter model PW3360. Thermal behavior was monitored using infrared thermography and thermocouples. Copper winding resistivity was evaluated using a four-point probe within a cryogenic magnet system. The results show that liquid nitrogen cooling significantly reduced copper resistivity due to low-temperature conditions, achieving a transformer efficiency of 89.9%. Oil cooling improved efficiency to 86.0%, compared to 80.7% with air cooling. Although liquid nitrogen provided the greatest efficiency enhancement, its practical use is limited due to handling complexity and cost. In contrast, oil cooling offers a more feasible and effective solution for improving transformer performance in real world applications. These finding provide valuable insight for optimizing transformer thermal management strategies in power systems.

Abstract

Anggaran bahan baku memiliki peranan penting dalam mendukung kelancaran proses produksi serta pengendalian biaya pada perusahaan manufaktur. PT ISM sebagai perusahaan yang bergerak di sektor industri makanan dan minuman dengan skala produksi besar sangat bergantung pada ketepatan penyusunan dan realisasi anggaran bahan baku agar kegiatan operasional berjalan secara optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses penyusunan anggaran bahan baku di PT ISM, membandingkan antara anggaran dengan realisasi pemakaian bahan baku, mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya selisih, serta mengevaluasi efektivitas penggunaan anggaran bahan baku dalam mendukung efisiensi produksi dan pengendalian biaya perusahaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif ringan. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari laporan keuangan, laporan persediaan bahan baku, serta publikasi resmi PT ISM yang relevan dengan kebutuhan penelitian. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui perhitungan pemakaian bahan baku, perbandingan antara anggaran dan realisasi, serta analisis selisih yang mencakup selisih harga dan selisih kuantitas bahan baku. Dengan metode tersebut, penelitian dapat memberikan gambaran mengenai tingkat ketepatan penyusunan anggaran dan sejauh mana realisasi pemakaian bahan baku sesuai dengan rencana yang telah ditetapkan perusahaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat selisih antara anggaran dan realisasi bahan baku, baik selisih yang bersifat menguntungkan (favorable) maupun selisih yang bersifat tidak menguntungkan (unfavorable). Selisih tersebut terutama disebabkan oleh perbedaan kuantitas pemakaian bahan baku dalam proses produksi, perubahan kebutuhan produksi, serta faktor efisiensi yang terjadi selama kegiatan operasional berlangsung.
