Abstract

In the digital era, learning activities must be adapted to developments in technology and information. Teachers are required to develop learning media creatively and innovatively. This study aims to determine the use of Canva as a medium for learning Arabic reading skills for class X students at MAN Batu City, student responses to the media and evaluate the use of the advantages and disadvantages. This research approach combines both qualitative and quantitative methods, employing data gathering techniques such as observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The research data respondents were 33 class X MAN Batu City students. The questionnaire instrument uses 13 statements with a Likert scale rating of 1-5 related to the use of Canva as a medium for learning Arabic reading skills for class X IPS 1 MAN Batu City. The results of the study show that using Canva as a media for reading skills is easy to use in learning, both in class and for independent study at home. Student response in using this media is also good. This can be seen from the results of the Pearson correlations for each item above 0.2826. So that the results of the questionnaire from students are valid. The 2-tailed significance of 0.000 <0.05 means that each item is correlated. So it can be concluded that student responses are acceptable. The advantages of using Canva are being able to make learning materials that are visually interesting and the drawbacks are requiring a stable internet network.

Abstract

The poem "Dongeng Marsinah" is part of an anthology entitled "Melip the Distance" by Sapardi Djoko Damono which was published in 2017. This article will describe an analysis of the poem based on Riffaterre's semiotics. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The data collection techniques used were reading and note-taking techniques. Data analysis techniques include data presentation, data reduction, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that the heuristic and hermeneutic reading of the poem is a description of the events experienced by Marsinah, the indirectness of the expression which consists of changing meaning, distorting meaning, and creating art, the matrix in the form of Marsinah as a figure who was persecuted and killed just because of her role demanding freedom of opinion, a model in the form of Marsinah and a watch, variants implied in each lyric, and a hypogram in the form of an incident experienced by Marsinah, who was declared missing after leading her fellow workers to protest and strike and her body was found in the forest with signs of severe torture.Keywords: poetry; Riffaterre; semioticsAbstrakPuisi "Dongeng Marsinah" merupakan bagian dari antologi berjudul “Melip the Distance” karya Sapardi Djoko Damono yang terbit tahun 2017. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik membaca dan mencatat. Teknik analisis data meliputi penyajian data, reduksi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembacaan heuristik dan hermeneutik puisi itu sebagai gambaran peristiwa yang dialami Marsinah, ketidaklangsungan ungkapan yang terdiri dari perubahan makna, distorsi makna, dan berkarya seni, matrix dalam wujud Marsinah sebagai sosok yang dianiaya dan dibunuh hanya karena perannya menuntut kebebasan berpendapat, model dalam wujud Marsinah dan jam tangan, varian yang tersirat dalam setiap lirik, dan hipogram berupa kejadian yang dialami Marsinah, dinyatakan hilang setelah menggiring rekan-rekan buruhnya melakukan aksi protes dan mogok kerja dan mayatnya ditemukan di hutan dengan tanda-tanda penyiksaan berat.Kata kunci: puisi; Riffaterre;  semiotika

Abstract

Kaligrafi berperan penting dalam pembangunan peradaban Islam. Pengenalan dan pelestarian kaligrafi  sebagai bagian dari budaya Islam bagi generasi muda adalah suatu keharusan. Di tengah arus global sekarang, generasi muda dihadapkan dengan keberagaman pengetahuan, budaya, cara pandang, dan etika yang memberi pengaruh perubahan terhadap diri mereka.  Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan seni kaligrafi bagi generasi muda dan memberi keterampilan dasar kaligrafi sebagai salah satu bekal yang bisa dikembangkan dan dimanfaatkan untuk pemberdayaan ekonomi mereka di masa depan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di komunitas Omah Wacan Kabupaten Malang, yang merupakan pusat kegiatan belajar literasi dan keterampilan bagi masyarakat, khususnya anak-anak remaja dari keluarga tidak mampu. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berbasis Participatory Action Research, meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, pemberian contoh, tanya jawab, dan praktek menulis. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Perencanaan meliputi observasi awal, analisis kebutuhan, perekrutan peserta dan penjadwalan kegiatan, (2) Pelaksanaan kegiatan berupa pelatihan selama 6 kali pertemuan, materi khat naskhi, menggunakan metode ceramah, demonstrasi, tanya jawab, dan praktek menulis, dan (3) evaluasi pada saat proses pelatihan, akhir pertemuan dan akhir pelatihan secara keseluruhan. Pengelola Omah Wacan memberikan apresiasi yang sangat baik kepada tim pelaksana pengabdian. Menurut peserta, pelatihan kaligrafi memberikan semangat tersendiri dan mengajarkan nilai-nilai positif, di antaranya menumbuhkan kecintaan pada seni budaya Islam terutama seni menulis, melatih ketenangan, kesabaran, dan konsentrasi.

Abstract

Music is a communication activity by using sound to convey a message to be expressed with a song. The song has a meaning as a literary work which is almost the same as poetry but is conveyed by playing melodies and harmonies. The song starts from a lyric in the form of stanzas created by an author aimed at conveying the message expressed. The messages contained in the lyrics of the created songs can be themed on friendship, motivation, love, and others. This study aims to determine and interpret the meaning of love contained in the lyrics of a song entitled Bismillah Cinta by Sigit Purnomo. This study uses the semiotic approach of Ferdinand De Saussure which makes the analogy of language as a signified and a signifier. This type of research uses descriptive and qualitative analysis. The source of data used in this research is the lyrics of a song entitled Bismillah Cinta by Sigit Purnomo. Through the analysis of the lyrics of the song, the results of this study reveal and convey the meaning that love is a feeling of trust that is trying to be expressed. The belief that everything is easy to pass and does not make the heart sway. Love teaches the meaning of that something we do must be accompanied by confidence without any anxiety and if there is no way out then asking Allah is the best way to solve it

Abstract

This article examines the meaning of jihad conveyed in Abu Obaida's oration during the conflict in Palestine. The research background covers the historical and political context of the region, as well as the relevance of Abu Obaida's role in inspiring resistance movements. The purpose of this study is to analyze Abu Obaida's understanding of jihad to Hamas forces, Palestinians, Muslims, Arab leaders, the World Security Council (UN) and Jihad through social media. The oration explained the social and political factors that influenced his views, as well as encouraged the impact of his oration on the movement in Palestine. The research methods used were the analysis of the content of Abu Obaida's oration, the study of related literature, and the opinions of historical and political experts. The data were analyzed qualitatively to understand the context, meaning, and implications of Abu Obaida's oration. The results showed that Abu Obaida interpreted jihad as a struggle for justice, liberation, and the rights of the Palestinian people. This understanding is reflected in the historical context and political conflicts facing Palestine. His oration succeeded in mobilizing and inspiring his audience, strengthening the spirit of resistance. The conclusion of this article presents a comprehensive overview of the meaning of jihad in the context of the Palestinian conflict through Abu Obaida's oration. This understanding provides deep insight into the factors shaping jihadist views in the conflict and can be a foundation for understanding the dynamics of movements in the region.

Abstract

Media Alef adalah salah satu inovasi media pembelajaran yang dihadirkan oleh Kementerian Agama (Kemenag) sebagai program pembelajaran digital dengan mendukung penggunaan teknologi yang dipakai pada proses pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses penerapan Media Alef dalam pembelajaran maharatul kalam, faktor pendukung dan penghambat, dan respon para siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah mix method. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner. Data kualitatif dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif, untuk memperoleh informasi terkait dengan pembelajaran maharah kalam menggunakan platform Alef. Adapun data kuantitatif digunakan untuk mengetahui respon siswa. Populasi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu siswa-siswi MTs Negeri 2 Kotamobagu tahun pelajaran 2022/2023. Sedangkan sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 65 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) penerapan Media Alef dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab khususnya pembelajaran maharatul kalam, yaitu Media Alef menyajikan materi kepada siswa dengan menghadirkan video pembelajaran dalam bentuk animasi dan percakapan yang menarik, (2) faktor pendukung yang ditemukan ialah terdapat lab komputer, proyektor seperti LCD, dan jaringan wifi di madrasah, adapun faktor penghambat ialah jaringan yang kurang lancar, (3) berdasarkan respon siswa, media alef sangat mendukung dan memudahkan siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab khsususnya maharatul kalam, hal ini diperoleh dari pembagian kuesioner kepada siswa bahwa sebanyak 70.8% siswa setuju bahwa media Alef dapat memberikan semangat dalam belajar bahasa Arab, 67.7% siswa memberikan respon setuju bahwa mereka tertarik belajar berbicara bahasa Arab lewat Media Alef, 67.7% siswa memberikan respon setuju bahwa mereka senang belajar berbicara bahasa Arab melalui media Alef, dan 58.5% siswa menyatakan sangat setuju pembelajaran menggunakan Media Alef sangat dibutuhkan dalam belajar bahasa Arab, khususnya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Arab.

Abstract

This study investigates the perceptions of bachelor and master students of Arabic Language Education towards the use of translation software in higher education, focusing at the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with a questionnaire design and interviews to gain an in-depth understanding of students' views. The collected data underwent 4 stages of analysis: data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The findings show that almost all students use software in translating and doing assignments, with varying portions of use. This happens because they feel helped by the software in doing various assignments easily and quickly, even though also realize that various software is very prone to errors. Students realize that the software allows them to be lazy to translate manually as well as the potential for dependence in its use. Consequently, the translation results generated by the software must be readjusted to the context of the sentence or paragraph being translated. The implication is the need for a cautious approach to the use of translation software in higher education, with an awareness of the limitations of such software, as well as the importance of manual language skill development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi efektivitas penggunaan teknologi media pembelajaran berbasis video animasi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Arab siswa di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2 Kabupaten Gorontalo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan penggunaan observasi dan wawancara sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Pendekatan kualitatif dipilih untuk memberikan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang pengalaman dan pandangan guru serta siswa terkait penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis video animasi. Penelitian ini melibatkan beberapa langkah. Pertama, melalui tahap observasi, peneliti secara aktif mengamati dan mencatat bagaimana teknologi media pembelajaran berbasis video animasi diterapkan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2. Interaksi antara guru dan siswa, serta respon siswa terhadap media pembelajaran ini, menjadi fokus utama pengamatan. Kedua, wawancara dengan guru dan siswa dilakukan untuk mendapatkan perspektif lebih lanjut tentang pengalaman dan pandangan mereka terkait penggunaan teknologi media pembelajaran berbasis video animasi. Berdasarkan analisis data, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan teknologi media pembelajaran berbasis video animasi memberikan manfaat signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Arab siswa di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2 Kabupaten Gorontalo. Melalui media pembelajaran ini, guru dapat menyajikan materi pembelajaran dengan cara yang lebih menarik dan interaktif, yang secara langsung memikat minat dan perhatian siswa. Selain itu, penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis video animasi juga meningkatkan motivasi siswa untuk belajar dan berbicara dalam bahasa Arab. Meskipun demikian, penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi beberapa tantangan dalam penerapan teknologi media pembelajaran berbasis video animasi, terutama terkait keterbatasan infrastruktur dan akses teknologi di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of a combination of Baghdadiyah and Adz-Dzikra media in Arabic language learning at SDPT Ulul Abshor Semarang. Baghdadiyah media is used to help students recognize and understand the shape and pronunciation of Arabic letters, while Adz-Dzikra media facilitates students to practice writing Arabic letters, words, and sentences directly. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation during the Arabic language learning process at SDPT Ulul Abshor. Data analysis was carried out descriptively to identify the benefits and impacts of using the combination of media. The results of the study showed that the use of a combination of Baghdadiyah and Adz-Dzikra media proved to be effective in increasing the effectiveness of learning, as well as the ability to read and write Arabic sentences in students. Students are not only able to recognize Arabic letters, but also can compose and write simple sentences properly and correctly. In addition, the use of this combination of media also increases students' enthusiasm and motivation to learn Arabic. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the combination of Baghdadiyah and Adz-Dzikra media can be optimally utilized to improve the quality of Arabic language teaching at the elementary school level. Schools and teachers need to continue to develop the use of this combination of media in a more systematic Arabic learning plan.

Abstract

The presence of language makes it easier for humans to interact as a means of communication. In its function, literary language can support the creative abilities of writers, and even become a language with artistic value. The aim of this research is to understand and describe the function of language contained in the short story "Berjuta Rasa" by Tere Liye. This research can help broaden understanding of Indonesian literary works, especially the short stories by Tere Liye. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique in this research is by taking written sources, namely the short story "Berjuta Rasa" by Tere Liye with the aim of obtaining data as material for analysis. Based on the research results, six language functions were found based on Roman Jacobson's perspective as follows: 1) referential function; 2) emotional function; (3) poetic function; (4) phatic function; (5) conative function; (6) metalingual function;. This research enriches the theoretical understanding of the application of Roman Jakobson's language functions in literary works and provides practical guidance for readers and writers in understanding and utilizing linguistic elements to build meaning and emotion in short stories.  AbstrakKehadiran bahasa memudahkan manusia dalam berinteraksi sebagai alat komunikasi. Dalam fungsi bahasa sastra dapat mendukung kemampuan daya cipta sastrawan, bahkan sekaligus menjadi bahasa yang bernilai seni. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami dan mendeskripsikan fungsi bahasa yang terdapat dalam cerpen Berjuta Rasanya karya Tere Liye. Penelitian ini dapat membantu memperluas pemahaman tentang karya sastra Indonesia, khususnya cerpen karya Tere Liye. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan cara mengambil sumber tertulis yakni cerpen Berjuta Rasanya karya Tere Liye dengan tujuan memperoleh data sebagai bahan analisis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka ditemukan enam fungsi bahasa berdasarkan perspektif Roman Jakobson sebagai berikut: 1) fungsi referensial; 2) fungsi emosional; (3) fungsi puitis; (4) fungsi fatis; (5) fungsi konatif; (6) fungsi metalingual; Penelitian ini memperkaya wawasan teoritis tentang penerapan fungsi bahasa Roman Jakobson dalam karya sastra, serta memberikan panduan praktis bagi pembaca dan penulis dalam memahami dan memanfaatkan elemen linguistik untuk membangun makna dan emosi dalam cerpen.
