Abstract

The dialogue and narration in the novel Kita Pergi Hari Ini by Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie are interesting to study in more depth. The researcher uses case grammar based on the perspective of Charles J. Fillmore, a modified form of generative transformation theory with verbs as the central part of a sentence and has a semantic relationship in various noun phrases; this relationship is called case. The use of Charles J. Fillmore's perspective case grammar as an analysis tool for the novel Kita Pergi Hari Ini by Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie aims to examine two aspects, namely modality and preposition. Researchers use descriptive qualitative research. The data collection technique for this research is the reading and notetaking technique. The researcher read the Kita Pergi Hari Ini novel as primary data and Charles J. Fillmore's perspective case grammar theory as supporting data. After reading, the researcher noted essential things to display as data. The data collection technique used in this research is the Miles and Huberman Technique, which consists of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study show that four modalities were found, namely tense composed of past, present, and future; negation, mode consisting of indicative, imperative, interrogative, conditional, and subjunctive; and aspect consisting of non-progressive, as well as eight propositions which consisting of agentive, goal, experience, time, accompanying, locative, objective, and source.

Abstract

Islamophobia does not only occur among non-Muslims but Islamophobia is also experienced by Muslims who do not agree with their thoughts. Islamophobia is a psychological symptom that sufferers experience when they encounter Muslims. The cause could be due to an unpleasant experience experienced by the sufferer, or because they are influenced by news reporting that Islam is a harsh religion, so that they feel afraid if they must face Muslims. The aims of this research are (1) to understand the picture of Islamophobia in Germany; (2) analyze the form of Islamophobia in Germany; and (3) describe the impact of Islamophobia in Germany. Researchers used descriptive qualitative methods with primary data sources in the form of online news and supported by related journals as secondary data. The results of the research are (1) Symptoms of Islamophobia in Germany have increased significantly every year; (2) the forms of Islamophobia found were the dissolution of mosques, harassment of Muslim women and prohibitions on wearing the headscarf, public opinion, work and education; (3) the impact of Islamophobia in Germany, namely psychological, social, legal and political policies. Islamophobia tidak hanya terjadi pada kalangan non-Muslim saja melainkan Islamophobia juga dialami oleh umat Islam yang tidak sependapat dengan pemikirannya. Islamophobia merupakan gejala psikis yang dialami penderita ketika mereka berhadapan dengan orang muslim. Penyebabnya bisa karena pengalaman yang tidak menyenangkan yang dialami oleh si penderita, ataupun karena terpengaruh oleh kabar yang memberitakan Islam sebagai agama yang keras, sehingga mereka merasa takut jika harus berhadapan dengan orang Islam. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) mengetahui gambaran Islamophobia di Jerman; (2) menganalisis bentuk Islamophobia di Jerman; dan (3) menjabarkan dampak Islamophobia di Jerman. Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif deskritif dengan sumber data primer berupa berita online dan didukung dengan jurnal terkait sebagai data sekunder. Adapun hasil dari penelitian yakni (1) Gejala islamophobia di Jerman mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan di setiap tahunnya; (2) bentuk islamophobia yang ditemukan adalah adanya pembubaran masjid, terjadinya pelecehan perempuan muslimah dan larangan berjilbab, pendapat publik, pekerjaan dan pendidikan; (3) dampak dari Islamophobia di Jerman yakni dampak psikologis, sosial, kebijakan hukum dan politik.

Abstract

Language laboratories are considered an effective medium for foreign language learning, facilitating teachers and learners to study more effectively. The modern language laboratories used today represent a new and innovative approach, incorporating various types of media with specific functions. This study aims to analyze the use of language laboratories for Istima' learning, the different tools available in language laboratories, students' perceptions of using language laboratories in Istima' learning, and the challenges or obstacles encountered during the use of language laboratories in Istima' learning. The research was conducted at Darul ‘Ulum Islamic University Lamongan. A qualitative descriptive method was used in this study. Data collection techniques included interviews and questionnaires. The findings of this study indicate that: 1) The tools used in the language laboratory for Istima' learning include earphones, LCD screens, projectors, the internet, Wi-Fi, YouTube, and e-learning platforms; 2) The utilization of language laboratories, media, and learning resources is primarily for delivering content and for evaluation or assignments in Istima' learning; 3) Students' perspectives indicate that the media and learning resources used in the language laboratory positively impact their enthusiasm and engagement in Istima' learning.

Abstract

Background. Learning motivation is an important factor in educational success, including in learning Arabic at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Kota Padang Panjang. The Al-Mumtaz app has been designed to support the learning process by offering interactive and engaging methods. However, the effectiveness of this application in increasing student learning motivation has not been studied much. Purpose. This study aims to examine the role of the Al-Mumtaz application in increasing students' motivation to learn Arabic at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Kota Padang Panjang. The main focus of this study was to find out the extent to which such applications can affect student learning motivation. Method. This research uses quantitative methods with experimental design. The research sample consisted of 60 students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Kota Padang Panjang who were divided into two groups: an experimental group using the Al-Mumtaz application and a control group using conventional learning methods. Data were collected through learning motivation questionnaires before and after the intervention, as well as in-depth interviews to support quantitative data. Results. The results showed that there was a significant increase in student motivation in the experimental group compared to the control group. Students who use the Al-Mumtaz app show higher levels of motivation in terms of interest, activeness, and commitment to Arabic language learning. Conclusion. Al-Mumtaz application significantly increases students' motivation to learn Arabic at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Kota Padang Panjang

Abstract

This research started from the need of the Muhammadiyah Al-Munawarah Institute for teaching some Arabic language lessons, including teaching composition. Teaching composition in it used various materials so that the educational production did not achieve the desired educational goal. This research aims to: 1) Reveal the process of developing the educational material for teaching composition in light of the contextual approach at the Muhammadiyah Al-Munawarah Institute in Malang. 2) Know the validity of the educational material for teaching composition developed in light of the contextual approach at the Muhammadiyah Al-Munawarah Institute in Malang. 3) Measure the effectiveness of using the educational material for teaching composition developed in light of the contextual approach at the Muhammadiyah Al-Munawarah Institute in Malang. This research is a qualitative and quantitative research using the research and development method. The results of the research are: 1) The educational material was developed in light of the contextual approach that benefits from the development steps of Borg and Gall, which consist of needs and problems analysis, data collection, production design, production validation, first production experiment, production modification, second production experiment, second/final modification. The developed product is in the form of a book, consisting of the introductory pages (cover, introduction, material content, material usage guide), the main pages (vocabulary, text and exercises), and the last page (author's biography), 2) The validity of the developed product according to experts is very good, 3) The developed composition teaching material is effective for students at the Institute of Muhadiyat al-Munawarah Malang, as the value of t-calculation = 9.2 and was greater than the theoretical t-value of 2.145.

Abstract

Dictionaries serve as a reference for individuals to understand word meanings, expand vocabulary, preserve languages, and support the ever-evolving global transmission of knowledge. Experts have established specific components that make a dictionary ideal and ready for use. This study aims to analyze the completeness of the components in Kamus Arab-Indonesia by Mahmud Yunus based on Ali Al-Qasimy’s perspective. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach. The primary data were obtained from Kamus Arab-Indonesia by Mahmud Yunus using documentation, reading, and note-taking techniques. The collected data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results indicate that the Kamus Arab-Indonesia by Mahmud Yunus, based on Ali Al-Qasimy's perspective, qualifies as a fairly comprehensive dictionary in terms of its component completeness. This dictionary fulfills 22 out of the 27 dictionary components identified.. Thus, this dictionary is categorized as comprehensive in terms of its component completeness. This research contributes to the development of Arabic lexicography and serves as a reference for dictionary compilers to enhance the quality and comprehensiveness of their works. Additionally, it assists dictionary users in utilizing dictionaries more effectively. Based on the research findings, it is recommended that Arabic dictionary compilers pay closer attention to dictionary components to improve their quality and functionality. A more comprehensive dictionary would greatly support academic needs, whether in Arabic language learning or research.Abstrak: Kamus merupakan referensi bagi setiap orang untuk memahami makna kata, mengembangkan kosakata, melestarikan bahasa, dan mendukung transmisi global yang terus berkembang. Para ahli telah menetapkan komponen-komponen kamus agar kamus menjadi ideal dan siap untuk digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelengkapan komponen Kamus Arab-Indonesia Karya Mahmud Yunus Perspektif Ali Al-Qasimy. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka. Data utama diperoleh dari Kamus Arab-Indonesia Mahmud Yunus dengan menggunakan teknik dokumentasi, baca, dan catat. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan teknik analisis data kualitatif, berupa reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kamus Arab-Indonesia karya Mahmud Yunus berdasarkan perspektif Ali Al-Qasimy termasuk kamus yang cukup lengkap dari aspek kelengkapan komponennya. Kamus ini memenuhi kelengkapan 22 dari 27 komponen kamus yang ditetapkan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada pengembangan ilmu leksikografi arab dan dapat menjadi referensi bagi penyusun kamus untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan komprehensivitas kamus, serta membantu pengguna kamus memanfaatkan kamus dengan lebih efektif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disarankan agar penyusun kamus bahasa Arab memperhatikan komponen-komponen kamus guna meningkatkan kualitas dan fungsionalitas kamus. Penyusunan kamus yang lebih komprehensif akan sangat bermanfaat untuk mendukung kebutuhan akademik, baik dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab maupun penelitian.

Abstract

The relationship between humans and their environment, especially flora and fauna, produces a language in the form of proverbs. The Minang tribe has its own proverbs that have a relationship with the surrounding nature. The formation of these proverbs is none other than because of human relationships with the surrounding environment. This research aims to describe (1) the category and grammatical form of flora and fauna lexicons in Minang proverbs, (2) the metaphorical dialog model of Minang proverbs containing flora and fauna lexicons, and (3) the praxis dimension of Minang proverbs containing flora and fauna lexicons. This research employs ecolinguistics theory as an analytical tool. Ecolinguistics is a term resulting from the combination of two words, ecology and linguistics. The term refers to the study of languages in relation to their environmental contexts. Primary data sources come from interviews with one of the leaders of the Jambak tribe in Malalo, West Sumatra. Meanwhile, other data sources come from journals and books relevant to the research. The research used qualitative methods. In collecting data, researchers used interview and note-taking techniques. While data analysis techniques, researchers used the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data exposure, and conclusion drawing. The result of this research is that there are  flora and fauna lexicons from nine Minang proverbs. Flora lexicons are rice, weeds, cikarau, anau, and mingkudu. Fauna lexicons such as kabau, monitor lizard, bilalang, mancik, and ula. These ten lexicons are in the form of nouns and root words. There are three aspects of the environment or TOPOS: space, place and time. These three aspects have certain patterns and references. The praxis dimension in Minang proverbs is recorded in three praxis dimensions, namely the idological dimension (the Minang tribe's understanding of the flora and fauna lexicon), the social dimension (the relationship between the Minang people and nature), and the biological dimension (describing the biological characteristics of the flora and fauna lexicon).Hubungan manusia dengan lingkungan khususnya flora dan fauna menghasilkan sebuah bahasa berupa peribahasa. Suku Minang memiliki peribahasa tersendiri yang memperlihatkan hubungan mereka dengan alam sekitarnya. Pembentukan peribahasa tersebut tidak lain karena hubungan manusia dengan lingkungan sekitarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) kategori dan bentuk gramatikal dari leksikon-leksikon flora dan fauna dalam peribahasa Minang, (2) model dialog metafora peribahasa Minang yang mengandung leksikon flora dan fauna, dan (3) dimensi praksis peribahasa Minang yang mengandung leksikon flora dan fauna. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori ekolinguistik sebagai pisau analisis yang  merupakan hasil penggabungan dua kata, yakni ekologi dan linguistik. Istilah itu mengacu pada pengkajian terhadap bahasa-bahasa yang terkait dengan lingkungan. Sumber data primer berasal dari hasil wawancara dengan salah satu pemuka suku Jambak di Malalo, Sumatera Barat. Sedangkan sumber data lainnya berasal dari jurnal dan buku yang relevan dengan penelitian. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif. Dalam pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan teknik wawancara dan catat. Pada analisis, peneliti menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman, yaitu reduksi data, pemaparan data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini ialah terdapat sembilan leksikon flora dan fauna dari sembilan peribahasa Minang. Leksikon flora, yaitu padi, ilalang, cikarau, anau, dan mingkudu. Leksikon fauna seperti kabau, biawak, bilalang, mancik, dan ula. Sembilan leksikon ini berupa nomina dan kata dasar. Terdapat tiga aspek lingkungan atau TOPOS yaitu ruang, tempat, dan waktu. Tiga aspek ini memiliki pola-pola dan acuan tertentu. Adapun dimensi praksis dalam peribahasa Minang terekam dalam tiga dimensi praksis, yaitu ideologis (pemahaman suku Minang terhadap leksikon flora dan fauna), sosiologis (hubungan masyarakat Minang dengan alam), dan biologis (menggambarkan ciri-ciri biologis dari leksikon flora dan fauna).

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the meaning of sakinah and tuma'ninah in the Qur'an through Thosihiko Izutsu's semantic approach. Sakinah is often interpreted as the calmness that Allah bestows on believers in stressful situations, while tuma'ninah refers to the tranquility of the heart that comes from strong belief and faith. Although the two seem similar, analysis shows that sakinah is more related to external and situational contexts, while tuma'ninah focuses on internal and spiritual tranquility. The research utilizes primary sources such as the Qur'an and various classical and modern tafsir to provide an in-depth and contextualized understanding of these two terms. The results confirm that understanding the differences and similarities between sakinah and tuma'ninah is crucial for Muslims in achieving true peace of mind. The findings contribute significantly to the field of Islamic studies and semantics, and offer practical guidance for achieving peace of mind in daily life.

Abstract

Dewasa ini aktivitas dakwah berbasis komunitas habaib semakin marak dan cenderung menjadi tren.  Meskipun dalam masa pandemi beberapa komunitas masih berjalan, termasuk Majelis Rasulullah kota Malang. Keberlangsungan dan keberhasilan majelis tersebut tidak terlepas dari kepemimpinan Habib sebagai sentripetal dalam setiap aktivitas keagamaan di dalamnya. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa peran kepemimpinan Habib Muhammad bin Anies dalam keberlangsungan aktivitas keagamaan pada Majelis Rasulullah kota Malang berdasarkan perspektif Henry Mintzberg. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, dengan metode studi kasus. Sumber data meliputi Habib Muhammad bin Anies, beberapa pengurus, aktivitas majelis, dan dokumen terkait. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi, dengan teknik analisa data kualitatif: reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Habib Muhammad bin Anies menjalankan peran kepemimpinan yang meliputi: (1) peran pribadi, berbentuk dalam figur utama pemimpin dalam kegiatan, pengefektifan  setiap fungsional majelis, dan penciptaan jaringan kontak luar majelis, (2) peran informatif, berbentuk dalam pencarian informasi eksternal sebagai peluang dan ancaman, pencarian informasi kekuatan dan kelemahan organisasi, dan pemberian informasi majelis ke pihak luar, dan (3) peran pengambilan keputusan, berbentuk dalam  entrepreneurship, penyelesaian permasalahan, dan pengalokasian sumber daya.

Abstract

Fiqh Lughah wa Asrar Al-‘Arabiyyah is one of the important works in the development of Arabic linguistics. This book has two main discussions, first is fiqh lughah which discusses the specification of the meaning of Arabic vocabulary and the second is asrar al-‘arabiyyah which discusses the linguistics of the content and rules of the Arabic language. In the first discussion, there are chapters that have several specific categories such as kulliyyat, tartibat, tafshilat, taqsimat and others. This study aims to discuss one type of meaning categorization in the book of Fiqh Lughah wa Asrar Al-‘Arabiyyah that is tartibat and its relevance to the principle of taraduf (synonymy) in Arabic. The study is limited to the categorization of tartibat which includes the condition of human feelings and expressions so that the study can focus on the reflection of tartibat in relation to the form of relativity of taraduf in Arabic. This research method uses a qualitative research approach with reference to the analysis of literature studies. The results of this study are that there are six scopes (sub-categories) of the tartibat categorization in the book of Fiqh Lughah wa Asrar Al-‘arabiyyah which show human feelings and expressions consisting of tartibat al-buka`, tartibat al-dhahak, tartibat aushaf al-bakhil, tartibat al-hubb, tartibat al-ghadhab, and tartibat al-surur. From the six scopes of data, words with close meanings were found, but each shows a different situation specification.
