Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the impact of discipline and allowances on employee performance, using job satisfaction acting as a mediator. This study implements quantitative research methodology. The population under study comprises all employees of BP Batam, amounting to a total of 2,287 individuals. The study included a sample size of 340 employees, which were picked using the Simple Random Sampling approach. The data utilized in this investigation consists of primary data, acquired through the dissemination of questionnaires. The Likert scale is employed as the measurement scale. The research utilizes the quantitative data analysis approach known as Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The study findings suggest that both punishment and allowances have a good and considerable influence on employee performance, both directly and indirectly, by means of job satisfaction as a mediator. This implies that effective self-control and sufficient financial provisions might enhance job contentment, resulting in enhanced employee productivity.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of workload and organizational commitment (OC) on the turnover intention (TI) of the millennial generation in Batam City, Indonesia, with job satisfaction (JS) as a mediator. Furthermore, the distribution of questionnaires to 413 respondents through a survey occurs.  To analyze the data, this study employs a structural equation model based on variance, and the statistical testing results demonstrate some things. Firstly, workload positively affects TI. However, OC does not influence TI. Secondly, workload negatively stimulates JS. Unfortunately, OC positively affects JS. Thirdly, JS negatively affects TI. Finally, JS can mediate the influence of workload and OC on TI. These circumstances indicate that workload is a leading factor in enhancing turnover intention. Employees with high workloads become stressed and dissatisfied with their tasks. Based on these outcomes, the firms need to lessen assignments to prevent turnover intention and upsurge their working satisfaction by generating a comfortable and supportive work environment.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out how the work environment and employee competence influence the performance of employees who work at the People's Credit Bank or BPR Batam City by using motivation variables as mediation. The research used a population of 5 BPRs, ranked 1 to 5, regarding the profit and loss of all BPRs in Batam City. From this population, 210 samples were taken. The sampling technique that will be used is proportionate stratified random sampling or samples taken randomly from a population that is not homogeneous and proportionally stratified, and the research data analysis method used is Partial Least Square (PLS) using SmartPLS software. The research results show that the work environment and employee competence influence the mediating variables, namely motivation, and motivation also positively influences employee performance. Then, the results further show that the work environment and employee competence do not significantly influence employee performance. The limitation experienced when conducting research is that the population taken is limited to BPR employees in Batam City, and other variables can still influence the research results.

Abstract

Research aim: This finding can provide a purpose for interpreting the determination of employee involvement in the influence of work environment comfort, communication, and time management on employee performance. Methode: This finding uses primary data. Respondents were selected by an accidental sampling technique, namely by giving questionnaires in the form of Google Forms to respondents and making them accessible to researchers based on predetermined criteria. Research Finding: The findings interpret that the workplace environment may have little impact on productivity but that effective communication and time management are likely to have wide-ranging benefits for the organization. Theoretical contribution: This research contributes to the human resource management literature by showing that time management and employee engagement significantly impact employee performance. The findings strengthen existing theories and offer a new perspective by integrating both concepts within the theoretical framework. By emphasizing the role of time management as a driver of employee engagement, this study provides deeper insights into the relationship between time management, engagement, and performance and opens up opportunities for further research in this area. Practitionel implication: Organizations should implement a structured and regular performance evaluation system to provide necessary employee feedback. In addition, training on time management and effective communication should be provided to enhance employee engagement. Establishing a comfortable working environment and a culture of open communication will encourage active employee participation. Monitoring and following up on employee satisfaction and implementing a reward system for outstanding employees are also critical. Organizations can improve employee performance and create a positive work culture with these measures. Research limitation: This research has several limitations. Among them, the research focuses only on the State’s Civil Apparatus in the Riau Islands Provincial Government, so the findings may not be generalizable to other sectors or locations. Then, the use of questionnaires as a data collection method may cause respondent bias, which may affect the accuracy of the results. Furthermore, this study did not consider other external factors that may affect employee performance, such as economic conditions or applicable government policies.

Abstract

Research aim: The purpose of this finding is to interpret the influence of employee comfort, leadership, time management, and employee involvement on employee performance. Method: This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey. Finding: These findings interpret that the work environment has a significant positive impact on employee engagement, but does not have a significant effect on employee performance. Meanwhile, leadership and time management have a significant positive impact on employee engagement and employee performance. Meanwhile, employee involvement itself provides a significant positive relationship to employee performance. Theoretical contribution/Originality: These findings provide a deep understanding of the importance of good and quality leadership in increasing employee engagement and performance in government and corporate environments. Practitioner/Policy implication: aspects that can have an impact on an employee's performance must always be considered and evaluated regularly so that employee productivity at work remains constant and even increases. Organizations and companies must also implement optimal human resource management to maintain employee loyalty and integrity. Research limitation: Research limitations only focus on the object of research, namely Civil Servants in the Riau Islands Provincial Government.

Abstract

The quality of human resources plays a significant and crucial role as an organizational identity in determining success in achieving objectives. However, some employees still lack the expected performance standards. Organizational culture is a primary factor influencing this issue, further exacerbated by the prevalence of unhealthy cultural practices and variations in background, level, and group dynamics. These factors contribute to a lack of employee ownership and commitment to their organization. This study seeks to explore the impact of organizational culture and transformational leadership style on employee performance within the Riau Islands Provincial Government, with work involvement serving as a mediating variable. The research employs a quantitative approach, with a population of 350 civil servants. The study’s findings indicate a direct, positive, and significant correlation between organizational culture, transformational leadership style, and employee performance. Moreover, when considered together, organizational culture, transformational leadership style, and work involvement have a positive and significant impact on employee performance
