Abstract

The availability of instruments for measuring critical thinking and communication skills for class X SMA Negeri 15 Seram Barat is still limited, so it needs to be developed. This study developed an essay model assessment instrument consisting of 10 questions. Using the Mardapi development model consists of 10 steps. The results of the validity and reliability analysis using the Ikens'V and TwoWayAnnova formulas, the average score obtained is 0.73 for critical thinking skills and 0.64 for communication skills where the score exceeds the standard coefficient of 0.3, then it can be declared valid . While the measurement of reliability with the Eibel formula obtained a score of 0.78 critical thinking skills and 0.82 communication skills, it entered the very high category, so it can be concluded that the critical thinking and communication skills assessment instrument can be said to be valid and reliable. Field analysis data seen from the KMO score of 0.835 indicates that the KMO value is >0.5 so that the instrument items can be analyzed further. The results on the RotatedComponentMatrixaform 2 factors which are named 1) the ability to analyze and solve problems 2) the ability to convey ideas concretely. Furthermore, the results of reliability testing with the Cronbachs alpha get the results of 0.654 or >0.6. From the results of these tests, it can be concluded that the instrument for assessing critical thinking and communication skills has good validity and reliability, so this instrument is expected to be used later by teachers as a reference or guide for teachers to measure critical thinking and communication skills.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the increase in motivation and learning outcomes of students on environmental change material through the application of problem based learning (PBL) with two stay two stray (TSTS). This research was carried out in class X-5 of SMA Negeri 11 Semarang in the 2022/2023 academic year with 36 students. There are two cycles in this research with instruments in the form of a learning motivation observation sheet and a multiple choice test at the end of the cycle for measuring learning outcomes. The research showed that the pre-cycle percentage of students who were motivated was 22.2%, while the first cycle increased to 44.5% and the second cycle increased significantly to 100%. The percentage of completeness of learning outcomes in the pre-cycle shows that 27.8% of students have completed it with an average score of 59.2. Observations in cycle I showed an increase to 63.9% of students completing their learning outcomes with an average of 74.3 and cycle II increasing to 88.9% of students completing it with an average of 90.1. Analysis of the data above concluded that there was an increase in student motivation and learning outcomes through the application of the problem based learning (PBL) model with two stay two stray (TSTS). good

Abstract

Abstrak. Banyak mahasiswa memiliki kendala dalam penyelesaian studi tepat waktu. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah proses penyelesaian skripsi. Berdasarkan data  Jurusan Biologi FMIPA UNNES, rata-rata mahasiswa dari 2012 sampai 2014 yang lulus tepat waktu hanya 20,55 persen. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh fakot internal dan eksternal terhadap penyelesaian skripsi dan menganalisis variabel yang berkontribusi dominan terhadap proses penyelesaian skripsi. Desain penelitian yang digunakan quantitative methods dengan strategi penelitian expost facto. Responden terdiri dari mahasiswa Biologi angkatan 2012, 2013, dan 2014. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Data diambil dengan menggunakan instrumen kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan metode simple random sampling menggunakan aplikasi SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baik faktor internal maupun faktor eksternal  berpengaruh positif terhadap proses penyelesaian skripsi. Hasil nilai r2 pada analisis regresi diketahui bahwa variabel yang paling berkontribusi terhadap penyelesaian skripsi adalah motivasi lulus tepat waktu (18,9 persen).Abstract. Most of students have some problems to completing their studies on time. Based on the data in Biology Departement of FMIPA UNNES, the average of students from 2012 to 2014 who graduated on time only 20.55 persen. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of internal and external factors on the thesis completion and analyze the dominant variables. The research design is quantitative methods with expost facto research strategies. The sample of respondents consisted of student of the Biology Departement of academic year 2012, 2013, and 2014. The sampling technique using simple random sampling technique. The data was taken using a questionnaire instrument and analyzed using simple linear regression method by SPSS. The result showed that the internal and external factor have a significant influence values of the thesis completion. This study showed that motivation to graduate on time had the most significant contribution on thesis completion (18,9 percent).

Abstract

Critical thinking skills and digital literacy are indispensable in 21st-century life. These two skills can be trained through a learning process that uses an Android-based module with a Project Based Learning model. This study aims to analyse the feasibility and effectiveness of android-based modules to improve critical thinking skills and digital literacy. This research is a research development or Research and Development (R&D). The development in this study uses the ADDIE model which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data in this study are module validity, critical thinking skills, and digital literacy. The instrument used in this study consisted of a module validation sheet to measure the feasibility of the module, reasonable multiple-choice test questions to measure critical thinking skills, and an observation sheet to measure digital literacy. The results showed that: 1) the module was declared very valid with an average value of 86.35; 2) the module is declared effective in improving critical thinking skills which are indicated by the N-Gain value of 0.47 with moderate criteria; and 3) the module is declared effective in increasing digital literacy as indicated by the N-Gain value of 0.56 with moderate criteria.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills and digital literacy are competencies that students must have in facing the challenges of 21st century learning, including contextual biology learning and a STEM approach. The learning process is accompanied by technological developments so that it needs to be utilized optimally through E-Learning. This study aims to analyze the effect of STEM-Vision E-Learning on digital literacy, critical thinking, and determine teacher and student responses to the application of STEM-Vision E-Learning learning. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of this study included 60 students in class XI MIPA 4 and 5 as the Experiment class (E-Learning with STEM Vision) and 60 students in XI MIPA 6 and 7 as the control class (Conventional E-Learning). This research was conducted at SMA N 1 Ungaran. The data measured in this study were critical thinking skills, digital literacy, and teacher and student responses to the application of STEM-Vision E-Learning learning. This study uses measuring instruments of observation, interviews, questionnaires, written tests and analyzed using reliability test, validity test, n-gain test. The results showed that in general there was a significant difference in digital literacy between the experimental class and the control class, In addition, there is a significant difference in critical thinking skills between the experimental class and the control class and there is a significant difference in critical thinking skills and digital literacy between the experimental class and the control class. Learning STEM Vision E-Learning can be implemented well, students and teachers give a positive response to learning STEM Vision E-Learning on the material circulation system. Suggestions in this study need a STEM approach between teachers and students so that online learning takes place without obstacles.

Abstract

The aim of education in Indonesia is to educate the life of the nation. In an effort to realize the goals of Indonesian education, a teacher as an educator must understand and have Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) skills, especially during the Covid 19 pandemic which requires learning to be done online. One of the subjects that develops TPACK abilities is Animal Physiology at the Department of Biology, Semarang State University. The purpose of this study: 1) Knowing the process of implementing Online Learning which is carried out in Animal Physiology lessons can improve the TPACK abilities of Biology Education study program students. 2) Knowing the TPACK ability level of Biology Education study program students after participating in Online Learning Animal Physiology. This research is a mixed method research with an explanatory sequential design. Selection of the sample by purposeful sampling. The research population is all students majoring in Biology class of 2019. The research sample is students of the Biology Education Study Program Classes B and C who are taking the Even Semester Animal Physiology course in the 2020/2021 academic year. The results showed that learning Animal Physiology online by using project assignments can foster TPACK abilities in Biology Education study program students. TPACK's capabilities can be seen and observed from the initial online learning meeting activities to the completion of project assignments.

Abstract

The challenges that students will face in the future are complex, so students need a myriad of competencies. To be able to compete and face challenges in the industrial era 4.0, one of which is the ability to process information and communicate. This study aims to analyze the effect of the argument-based SQ3R method in improving students' critical reading skills in science learning. This research is a Quasi-Experimental study with a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 62 class VIII students consisting of two classes. The technique for collecting data on reading interest used a questionnaire sheet instrument and data on the results of students' critical reading ability used essay questions. Based on the results of the research data analysis, it was shown that the argument-based SQ3R learning method had a positive effect on students' critical reading skills, with the results of the t-test showing Asymp. sig. of 0.00 <0.05, with supporting data on students' critical reading skills seen from the student's reading interest questionnaire with the results of the Mann Whitney U-test showing Asymp. Sig of 0.018 <0.05 which means that there is an influence of the argument-based SQ3R learning method on students' critical reading skills.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the validity of under-development virtual laboratory media of virus material, (2) describe practicality of under-development virtual laboratory media of virus material, (3) describe effectiveness of under-development virtual laboratory media of virus material.This study is research and development using the ADDIE model (analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate). The study instruments are compiled including virtual laboratory media validation sheets for experts, virtual laboratory media practicality sheets for biology teachers and student, critical thinking questions and procedural skills. The application of virtual laboratory media includes limited trials and field trials. The field trial subjects are students of class X at State Senior High School 1 Wonosobo. The field trial design for this research is a pretest-posttest control group design. The practicality of virtual laboratory media is analyzed from data on filling out the eligibility sheet by media and material experts by managing the average score and categorizing the data into ideal ratings. The practicality of virtual laboratory media is analyzed from the data of filling in the practicality sheet by the biology teacher by managing the average score by categorizing the data as an ideal assessment. The effectiveness of virtual laboratory media is analyzed from n-gain data on critical thinking and procedural skills using the Mann-Whitney U test.The results showed that (1) the under-development virtual laboratory media is valid for use in teaching biology on viruses based on expert validation (2) the under-development virtual laboratory media is practically used in learning biology material on viruses based on the biology teacher's assessment. Thus, it becomes a solution for laboratory tools and materials for State Senior High School 1 Wonosobo which can facilitate their students in improving HOTS skill (3) the under-development virtual laboratory media effectively improves students' higher-order thinking skills based on Mann Withey U analysis on trial data.

Abstract

The potential that must be developed and formed in tertiary institutions is the ability to think critically and be independent. In addition, equalization of learning outcomes through education at the KKNI level (Indonesian National Qualifications Framework) which states that students graduating from diploma 4 or undergraduate programs are equivalent to level six, where graduates are expected to have logical, critical thinking and are expected to be able to demonstrate independent, quality, and measurable performance. This study aims to analyze the validity of the e-module, test the effectiveness of the e-module in increasing critical thinking skills and independence in learning animal physiology from the digestive system material, and examine student responses related to the e-module. This study uses the 4-D Thiagarajan model (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). Based on the results of the recapitulation of the e-module assessment by the material and media expert validator, it was stated that the e-module on the digestive systems of animals is very suitable for use in learning. The effectiveness of the digestive system e-module in animals related to the ability to think critically and independently before and after using the digestive system e-module experienced an increase in critical thinking skills and independence in the moderate category. The results of the observation data on student independence in learning are very good. Student responses to the use of e-modules as learning media can make it easier for students to understand learning material, especially material about the digestive system.

Abstract

Penelitian berjudul Analisis kebutuhan pengembangan instrumen penilaian sikap jujur siswa SMA pada pelajaran Akhlak bertujuan menganalisa kebutuhan SMA Plus Al-Fatimah Bojonegoro. Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif. Pertama peneliti melakukan observasi subjek penelitian, wawancara, analisis model penilaian semester gasal 2022 yang digunakan, analisis muatan materi sikap jujur siswa, memformulasikan kebutuhan-kebutuhan bagi SMA Plus Al-Fatimah. Tahap observasi peneliti melakukan pengamatan subjek penelitian di Bojonegoro. Hasil observasi berupa photo subjek penelitian. Wawancara dilakukan dengan sumber primer, pengasuh pesantren modern Al-Fatimah, kepala sekolah, guru bagian kurikulum, guru bidang studi akhlak. Hasil wawancara kepada Kepala Sekolah dan bagian kurikulum ditemukan penilaian sikap secara umum menggunakan model penilaian jurnal berdasar pengamatan dari setiap guru bidang studi, tanpa adanya instrumen baku. Wawancara dengan guru pelajaran akhlak ditemukan muatan-muatan pelajarannya sangat menekankan pentingnya bersikap jujur terhadap siapapun.
