Abstract

Gas leak detection systems are essential for ensuring the safety of people and property. The use of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in gas leak detection systems has become increasingly popular due to its ability to connect devices and collect data from various sources. In this paper, we propose the design and development of an LPG gas leak detection system based on IoT. The system uses LPG gas sensors to detect the presence of gas in the environment, a microcontroller to process the data and send it to the cloud, and a web-based dashboard to display the real-time gas concentration levels and send alerts to users in case of gas leakage. Liquefied Petroleum Gas is a tool that serves to anticipate the safety of a gas leak hazard that can cause explosion and harm to the soul and property. In this final assignment explains how to create a detection system using the MQ-2 gas sensor that is connected to the NODEMCU ESP8266 microcontroller which is then sent to Firebase where the data storage can be viewed in realtime and continued to the Android application, the application used is the MIT App Inventor that has been created to receive notifications in the event of a gas leak. Using a MQ-2 gas sensor with a standard value in the event of gas leakage above 200. This system has fulfilled the rules of the Internet of things because it uses the Internet to connect.

Abstract

Hohenheim Tunnel Dryer has two heating mechanisms, namely the solar collectors and the greenhouse effect. Two outlet fans are used to remove moisture from drying as well as to lower the temperature in the drying chamber. Suppose the outlet fans are turned on continuously, the temperature in the drying room will not reach the optimal drying temperature, and vice versa if the outlet fans are not turned on, the drying temperature can exceed 60°C. Controlling these outlet fans manually is a very inconvenient thing and becomes an obstacle for accepting this drying technology by the farmers. Therefore, this study focused on the design of temperature control for the Hohenheim Tunnel Dryer by using a proportional integral derivative (PID) controller with an Arduino Nano microcontroller. It controls the fan outlet to obtain an optimal drying temperature so that the operation of this dryer becomes more accessible and more efficient. The temperature sensor used is DHT22. The tuning method chosen is the Ziegler – Nichols method, and the setpoint value is selected at 55, which is the optimum temperature for drying most agricultural products. The design, manufacture, and testing of the temperature control system on the Hohenheim tunnel dryer was successfully carried out without over shoot and steady state error so it can be concluded that the system has worked well.

Abstract

Cracker snacks made from melinjo fruit are often found in the Pidie Regency area, Aceh. However, processing melinjo seeds into crackers is still manual and takes a long time. In this research, a melinjo peeling machine will be designed to speed up the production process of melinjo crackers. This peeler uses two different electricity sources so it can work in two conditions, namely the PLN electricity supply is on or off. The research method was carried out by collecting data from device testing results and field observations as well as comparing test results with previous research. The movement of the motor is controlled using Time Delay which gives a command to activate the relay and then turns on the 12 V DC motor. The motor rotates clockwise and anti-clockwise continuously (auto reverse) according to the direction of positive and negative potential which is controlled by the relay and Time Delay. The success rate of peeling the outer skin of melinjo seeds using the proposed tool is divided into three types based on differences in seed skin color. The percentage of success for red, orange, and yellowish green melinjo was 68.67%, 51.52% and 25.61% respectively. Thus, in this study, it can be concluded that the most efficient success rate is for red melinjo

However, according to Forbes, the application and literature on this topic still need to be improved, even though it is considered a major issue. This research aims to determine the role of organizational culture in the relationship between employee diversity and employee performance, focusing on the Indonesian Y generation who have worked on the island of Java for at least one year. A total sample of 345 Generation Y workers on Java Island was used, and PROCESS MACRO by Hayes was used to determine the role of organizational culture. The research results show that workforce diversity significantly and positively affects organizational culture. Organizational culture has a significant and positive effect on employee performance. Workforce diversity has a significant and positive effect on employee performance. In addition, it was found that organizational culture does not act as a moderator but rather acts as a mediator in the relationship between workforce diversity and employee performance. This role was found to be a mediator after further analysis was carried out. It is highly recommended that future researchers use a more significant number of samples and islands other than Java or choose certain industries to enrich research results. Additionally, the use of other diversity attributes may contribute to the diversity of results.

Abstract

The use of treadmill exercise in cardiovascular research played a vital role in assessing heart health and determining appropriate exercise regimens for patients. Before applying these regimens to humans, experiments on animals, such as white rats or mice, were conducted to simulate human cardiovascular responses. A specialized treadmill designed for experimental animals was required to determine exercise doses based on individual abilities. This process involved controlling the treadmill speed, which was generated by a conveyor driven by a DC motor. The motor speed was regulated through PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) control, while encoder sensors monitored the motor’s rotation speed, and limit switch sensors determined the exercise duration. This article reviewed the design and implementation of treadmill systems used for animal-based cardiovascular research, focusing on the control of DC motor speed using PID controllers. Previous studies that contributed to the development of such systems were discussed, with an emphasis on the precise control mechanisms required to simulate exercise conditions tailored to the subject's abilities. The treadmill system also incorporated sensors to accurately adjust motor speed and track exercise duration, ensuring alignment with the physiological capabilities of the test subjects. Furthermore, this review explored the potential for advancing research on treadmill control systems, offering insights into how this technology could support medical experts in determining optimal exercise regimens for white rats. These developments helped bridge the gap between animal-based studies and human applications, facilitating improved cardiovascular research outcomes.

Abstract

Experimental animals such as rats are often used for medical research and therapy, such as cardiologists who use a special treadmill to measure the heart health of rats by training walking or running in order to determine the appropriate dose for individuals before being applied to their patients. This research designed a system that is operated by the speed of a DC motor. To control the system, it is proposed to implement a Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control that is able to stabilize the rotation of the DC motor based on the BPM value recorded by the encoder sensor. The value is used as feedback to the PID control, so that it can control the speed of the DC motor and work optimally and stably under load or no load. Adding a limit switch as a fatigue zone to determine the final duration. This system was tested on several objects, namely 4-month-old rats with a mass of 211 grams, 224 grams, 230 grams, and 240 grams and 2-month-old rats with a mass of 24 grams, 27 grams, 28 grams, and 30 grams. The results show that the speed reading using PID control is in accordance with the constants Kp = 17, Ki = 7, and Kd = 1. This test has a percentage overshoot (%) of 5% and an average rise time value of 0.14 seconds. System performance with a percentage accuracy of 90% starting from a setpoint of 35 m/min.
