Abstract

Learning human physiology is a study that we often encounter in everyday life related to the condition of the body, at any time it can experience problems or abnormalities that result in a decrease in the condition of human health itself. In addition, along with the development of science and technology, more and more problems are encountered in learning human physiology, so that the ability to think is needed in solving existing problems. This study aims to describe the profile of students' abilities in solving critical problems on the concept of human physiology. The study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data collection instruments in this study included the main instrument, namely the researcher himself and the supporting instrument in the form of a written assignment to describe the profile of students who had programmed human physiology courses. Students are categorized based on a hypothetical theory which contains five levels of critical thinking skills, namely very critical, critical, moderately critical, less critical, and not critical. The results showed that the ability profile of several students of the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Lambung Mangkurat University in solving critical problems on the concept of human physiology. Consists of four levels of critical thinking skills, namely very critical, critical, moderately critical, and less critical.AbstrakPembelajaran fisiologi manusia merupakan kajian yang sering kita jumpai dalam kehidupan sehari-hari yang berhubungan dengan kondisi tubuh, sewaktu-waktu dapat mengalami permasalahan atau kelainan yang berakibat pada menurunnya kondisi kesehatan manusia itu sendiri. Selain itu, seiring dengan perkembangan IPTEK maka semakin banyak pula permasalahan yang dijumpai dalam pembelajaran fisiologi manusia, sehingga diperlukan kemampuan berpikir dalam penyelesaian masalah yang ada. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil kemampuan mahasiswa dalam penyelesaian masalah secara kritis pada konsep fisiologi manusia. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Instrumen pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini meliputi instrumen utama yaitu peneliti sendiri dan instrumen pendukung berupa tugas tertulis untuk mendeskripsikan profil mahasiswa yang telah memprogramkan mata kulah fisiologi manusia. Mahasiswa dikategorikan berdasarkan teori hipotetik yangberisi lima tingkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis, yaitu sangat kritis, kritis, cukup kritis, kurang kritis, dan tidak kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil kemampuan beberapa mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Lambung Mangkuratdalam penyelesaian masalah secara kritis pada konsep fisiologi manusia. Terdiri dari empat tingkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis yaitu sangat kritis, kritis, cukup kritis, dan kurang kritis.

Abstract

The expected learning outcomes in the 21st century are that students have critical thinking skills. The critical thinking skills are an important requirement to solving problems in life. The material in the Natural Science subject needs to be understood by relying on critical thinking skills, and is relevant to the environment. However, SMP Negeri 1 Hulu Sungai Tengah has not been equipped with an optimal learning guide to meet these demands, so a science practicum guide based on critical thinking skills has been developed. This study aims to test the practicality and effectiveness of the developed science practicum guide. Practicality is obtained from student response questionnaires and observations of the implementation of the use of practicum guides, while effectiveness is obtained from the categorization of the N-Gain Test of students' critical thinking skills. The results show: a practical science practicum guide developed with one-to-one evaluation results 97.22% (very good), student responses of 98.57% (positive), and 100% (very good) implementation; and effective with the results of the N-Gain categorization of students' critical thinking skills high for three indicators, and moderate for two indicators.Abstrak Hasil belajar yang diharapkan di abad 21 adalah peserta didik memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis. Keterampilan berpikir kritis merupakan syarat penting untuk memecahkan masalah dalam kehidupan. Materi dalam mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam perlu dipahami dengan mengandalkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan relevan dengan lingkungan hidup. Namun, di SMP Negeri 1 Hulu Sungai Tengah belum dilengkapi dengan panduan belajar yang optimal dalam memenuhi tuntutan tersebut, sehingga dikembangkan panduan praktikum IPA berbasis keterampilan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji kepraktisan dan keefektivan dari panduan praktikum IPA yang dikembangkan. Kepraktisan diperoleh dari angket respon peserta didik dan observasi keterlaksanaan penggunaan panduan praktikum, sedangkan keefektifan diperoleh dari kategorisasi Uji N-Gain keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Hasilnya menunjukkan: panduan praktikum IPA yang dikembangkan praktis dengan hasi uji perorangan 97,22% (sangat baik), hasil respon peserta didik 98,57% (positif), dan keterlaksanaan 100% (sangat baik). dan efektif dengan hasil kategorisasi N-Gain keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik tinggi untuk tiga indikator, dan sedang untuk dua indikator.

Abstract

The problem that occurs in the invertebrate zoology course is that there are no innovative teaching materials related to the diversity of crab species. One of them is in the Tabanio mangrove area to explore students' critical thinking skills. This makes it necessary to develop learning resources in popular scientific books containing material with examples from the surrounding or local environment. This study aims to describe the practical of contents, expectations and actual prototypes of popular scientific books on the diversity of crab species. This research uses stages of development through formative evaluation based on Tessmer, which consists of self-evaluation, expert test, individual test, small group test, and field test and also the content practicality assessment instrument too. The results showed that a popular scientific book was declared very valid based on expert validation results with an average of 88,46%, while based on a one-to-one with an average of 92,31%. This popular scientific book is declared practical because student responses 89,29% with criteria of strongly agreeing and the implementation of popular scientific books 90,00% with outstanding criteria. Therefore, this popular scientific book can be used as an enrichment student on the ability to think critically.Abstrak Masalah yang terjadi pada mata kuliah zoologi invertebrata adalah belum adanya bahan ajar yang inovatif terkait materi keanekaragaman spesies kepiting salah satunya di kawasan mangrove Tabanio untuk menggali kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Hal inilah yang membuat perlunya pengembangan sumber belajar berbentuk buku ilmiah popular yang memuat materi dengan contoh-contoh dari lingkungan sekitar atau lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kepraktisan isi, harapan dan aktual prototipe buku ilmiah popular yang berjudul “Keanekaragaman Spesies Kepiting di Kawasan Mangrove Tabanio”. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan tahap-tahap pengembangan melalui evaluasi formatif berdasarkan Tessmer yang terdiri dari evaluasi diri, uji pakar, uji perorangan, uji kelompok kecil dan uji lapangan serta instrumen penilaian kepraktisan  isi juga mengacu pada Tessmer. Berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli, buku ilmiah popular termasuk kedalam kriteria sangat valid dengan rata-rata 88,46%, sedangkan uji perorangan diperoleh nilai sebesar 92,31%. Buku ilmiah popular ini dinyatakan praktis, karena respons mahasiswa 89,29% dengan kriteria sangat baik dan keterlaksanaan sebesar 90,00% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Oleh karena itu, buku ilmiah popular ini dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pengayaan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa.

Abstract

The scientific literacy skills of Indonesian students are still low. This condition encourages the government to improve the ability to solve problems, namely by issuing Permendikbud Number 65 of 2013 concerning the standards for the process of primary and secondary education, including the development of the domain of attitudes, knowledge, and skills. This development research aims to produce science learning tools on the topic of classification of living things in class VII of the SMP Negeri which are valid, practical and effective. Development research refers to the device development model with phases 1) Identifying problems, 2) Describing objectives, 3) Designing and developing devices, 4) Performing tests, 5) Evaluating test results, and 6) Communicating test results. Data was collected using instruments and evaluation questions. All data collected was analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the learning device was declared valid. Practical learning tools are used based on the results of the lesson plan implementation and student responses. Learning tools are also effectively based on results 1) cognitive assessment 2) psychomotor, social, and spiritual assessment, 3) critical thinking assessment, 4) student activity on teaching and learning activities and, 5) teacher response to teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

Currently, the success rate of students in schools is still lacking in learning the subject matter. Therefore, the authors conducted research on the use of 3D Pageflip Professional electronic student worksheets on the concept of protists on the learning outcomes of students in grade X high school. The purpose of this study is to describe the effect of using the 3D Pageflip Professional electronic student worksheet on the Protists concept on (1) product cognitive learning outcomes (2) cognitive learning outcomes of students in grade X high school. The design of this research is quasi-experimental and the design is The Nonequivalent control group design. The research sample is grade X-PMIA 1 and X-PMIA 2 as the experimental group, grade X-PMIA 3 as the control group. The research instrument uses multiple choice tests to measure product cognitive learning outcomes and process cognitive. The hypothesis data analysis technique is the Independent Samples Test from the pre-posttest. From the research, the results showed that there was an effect on the use of 3D Pageflip Professional electronic student worksheets on (1) cognitive learning outcomes of students' products with sig. (2-tailed) 0.017 (2) cognitive learning outcomes of students with sig. (2-tailed) 0.041. From the results of the study, it is suggested that the evaluation tool needs to be improved to make it look more effective in improving product cognitive and student learning outcomes.AbstrakSekarang ini tingkat keberhasilan dari peserta didik di sekolah masih dinyatakan kurang dalam mempelajari materi pelajaran. Maka dari itu penulis melakukan penelitian penggunaan e-LKPD 3D Pageflip Professional pada konsep protista terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas X SMA. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunaan e-LKPD 3D Pageflip Professional pada konsep Protista terhadap (1) hasil belajar kognitif produk (2) hasil belajar kognitif proses peserta didik kelas X SMA. Rancangan penelitian ini yaitu quasi experiment dan desainnya yaitu The Nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian yaitu kelas X PMIA 1 dan X PMIA 2 sebagai kelompok eksperimen, kelas X PMIA 3 sebagai kelompok kontrol. Instrumen penelitiannya menggunakan tes pilihan ganda untuk mengukur hasil belajar kognitif produk dan kognitif proses. Teknik analisis data hipotesisnya dengan uji Independent Samples Test dari pre-posttest. Dari penelitian didapatkan hasil yaitu terdapat pengaruh penggunaan e-LKPD 3D Pageflip Professional terhadap (1) hasil belajar kognitif produk peserta didik dengan sig. (2-tailed) 0.017 (2) hasil belajar kognitif proses peserta didik dengan sig. (2-tailed) 0.041. Dari hasil penelitian, disarankan perlu penyempurnaan terhadap alat evaluasi agar terlihat lebih efektif pengaruhnya dalam meningkatkan kognitif produk dan kognitif produk hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Biotechnology is a concept in learning that contains many problems related to everyday life. The problem of biotechnology also continues to grow with the times. In every development, biotechnology certainly encounters problems that must be found to solve the problem and of course require the ability to think creatively. So, in biotechnology it is necessary to have creative problem solving abilities to find solutions to every problem. The purpose of this study was to describe the profile of students' abilities in creative problem solving on the concept of biotechnology. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Students will be categorized based on five levels of creativity, namely very creative, creative, quite creative, less creative, and not creative. This category is determined based on a hypothetical theory that has been prepared before the research is carried out. After conducting a research on the profile of students' abilities in creative problem solving on the concept of biotechnology to several students of the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Lambung Mangkurat University who had completed the introductory biotechnology course, the results obtained four levels of creativity, namely very creative, creative, moderate creative and less creative. Meanwhile, students who are not creative are not found in this study.AbstrakBioteknologi merupakan suatu konsep dalam pembelajaran yang berisi banyak permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Permasalahan bioteknologi tersebut juga terus berkembang mengikuti perkembangan zaman. Setiap perkembangannya, bioteknologi tentu menemui permasalahan yang harus ditemukan penyelesaian masalahnya dan tentunya memerlukan kemampuan berpikir kreatif. Sehingga,  dalam bioteknologi perlu adanya kemampuan penyelesaian masalah yang bersifat kreatif untuk mencari solusi setiap permasalahan. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan profil kemampuan mahasiswa dalam penyelesaian masalah secara kreatif pada konsep bioteknologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Mahasiswa akan dikategorikan berdasarkan lima tingkatan kreativitas yaitu sangat kreatif, kreatif, cukup kreatif, kurang kreatif, dan tidak kreatif. Kategori ini ditentukan berdasarkan teori hipotetik yang telah disusun sebelum penelitian dilaksanakan. Setelah dilaksanakan penelitian profil  kemampuan mahasiswa dalam penyelesaian masalah secara kreatif pada konsep bioteknologi terhadap beberapa mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat yang telah menyelesaikan mata kuliah pengantar bioteknologi didapatkan hasil empat tingkatan kreativitas yaitu sangat kreatif, kreatif, cukup kreatif, dan kurang kreatif. Sedangkan untuk mahasiswa yang tidak kreatif tidak ditemukan dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one of the cognitive skills that are necessary for learners in the 21st century. The government implements the 2013 curriculum to improve learners ' critical thinking skills with one of its components of teaching materials in a student's worksheet (LKPD). The problem is that the use of LKPD is still lacking in facilitating learners ' critical thinking skills. This research aims to develop the LKPD on the concept of biodiversity that is valid, practical, and effective. The research methods used are Tessmer design, which includes: expert review, one-to-one evaluation, and small group evaluation. The LKPD structure was developed referring to Daryanto & Dwicahyono and critical thinking skills referring to the Facione 1990. Subject validation includes three experts, one to one evaluation subjects are three learners of class X SMA, and a small group evaluation subject is six students of class X SMA. The results showed that the effectiveness of expectations seen from the assessment of critical thinking skills of learners in completing the LKPD belongs to a very good category.AbstrakKeterampilan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu keterampilan kognitif yang perlu dimiliki peserta didik pada abad ke-21. Pemerintah menerapkan kurikulum 2013 untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik dengan salah satu komponennya bahan ajar berupa Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD). Permasalahan yang ada adalah penggunaan LKPD masih kurang dalam memfasilitasi keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKPD pada konsep keanekaragaman hayati yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah desain Tessmer, yang meliputi: 1) expert review; 2) one-to-one evaluation; dan 3) small group evaluation. ­Struktur LKPD yang dikembangkan mengacu pada Daryanto & Dwicahyono dan keterampilan berpikir kritis mengacu pada Facione 1990. Subjek validasi meliputi 3 orang ahli, subjek uji perorangan adalah 3 orang peserta didik kelas X SMA, dan subjek uji kelompok kecil adalah 6 orang peserta didik kelas X SMA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keefektifan harapan yang dilihat dari penilaian keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan LKPD tergolong dalam kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

This development research is intended to describe the results of the development of a popular scientific book on shrimp species in the coastal waters of Tabanio, including validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The development design used was a design of Tessmer adaptation, including self-evaluation, expert testing, individual testing, and only up to small group tests. The object of research was a popular scientific book developed. Simultaneously, the research subjects consisted of 3 lecturers of Master Education of Biology, Lambung Mangkurat University, and five senior high school students of Abdul Kadir Panyipatan. Data were collected using the techniques of observation, questionnaires, and tests. The results showed that a popular scientific book was declared very valid based on expert validation results, while based on individual tests, the popular scientific book was declared very good. The popular science book that has been developed was considered practical because the results of student responses are 96.5% with very practical criteria. The result of the implementation of the popular science book was an average of 93.3%. The popular scientific book was declared effective because students' critical thinking skills increased in the Small Group, with 94.5% and N-Gain of 0.8 on high criteria. This popular scientific book has a systematic and structured writing flow. This book contains a discussion with high values of local potential. The design used is simple but easy to understand, and includes species identification, and displays original images taken directly from the coastal forest of Tabanio. All of these are the hallmarks of this popular science book.Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan pengembangan buku ilmiah populer jenis udang di perairan pesisir Tabanio. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan Plomp dan Nieveen yang dibatasi pada tahap prototyping phase dimana evaluasi formatif berdasarkan Tessmer yang terdiri dari evaluasi diri, pendapat ahli, uji perorangan, dan hanya sampai uji kelompok kecil. Objek dalam penelitian ini ialah buku ilmiah populer yang dikembangkan, sedangkan subjek penelitian terdiri dari 3 dosen Magister Pendidikan Biologi ULM dan 5 siswa SMA Abdul Kadir  Panyipatan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, angket dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukan buku ilmiah populer dinyatakan sangat valid berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli, sedangkan berdasarkan uji perorangan buku ilmiah populer ini dinyatakan sangat baik. Buku ilmiah populer yang telah dikembangkan dinyatakan praktis karena hasil respon siswa sebesar 96,5% dengan kriteria sangat praktis, dan hasil keterlaksanaan Buku ilmiah populer rata-rata 93,3%. Buku ilmiah populer dinyatakan efektif karena hasil kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang mengalami peningkatan pada Small Group dengan rata-rata 94,5% dan N-Gain sebesar 0,8 pada kriteria tinggi. Oleh karena itu, buku ilmiah populer “Jenis Udang di Perairan Pesisir Tabanio” ini dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pengayaan untuk melatihkan kemampuan  berpikir kritis siswa SMA.

Abstract

One effort that can be made to build students' critical thinking skills is to develop popular scientific books (PSB) that are systematic and easy for students to understand. This research aims to describe the effectiveness of the PSB Ethnopharmacology in Pendahara Village, Ngaju Dayak Community Area, for Training Students' Critical Thinking Skills. The development stage includes self-evaluation, expert testing, individual testing, small group testing, and field testing. The research subjects were five students for the small group test and 20 for the field test. The effectiveness of PSB is analyzed descriptively. The research results show that the developed PSB was declared effective. Based on this data, the average N-Gain value is 0.5, resulting in a medium N-Gain category. Base on this research results, it can be concluded that the PSB on ethnopharmacology in Pendahara Village, Ngaju Dayak Community Area, is effectively used in training students' critical thinking skills.Abstrak Salah satu usaha yang dapat dilakukan dalam membangun keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa adalah mengembangkan buku ilmiah popular (BIP) yang sistematis dan mudah dipahami mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan keefektifan BIP Etnofarmakologi Desa Pendahara Kawasan Masyarakat Dayak Ngaju untuk Melatihkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Mahasiswa. Tahap pengembangan meliputi evaluasi diri, uji pakar, uji perorangan, uji kelompok kecil, uji lapangan. Subjek penelitian adalah 5 mahasiswan untuk uji kelompok kecil dan 20 mahasiswa untuk uji lapangan. Keefektifan BIP dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan BIP yang dikembangkan dinyatakan efektif. Berdasarkan data tersebut maka nilai rerata N-Gain 0,5 sehingga diperoleh kategori N-Gain sedang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa BIP etnofarmakologi Desa Pendahara Kawasan Masyarakat Dayak Ngaju efektif digunakan dalam melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa.
