Abstract

Research on fermented feed based on green coconut water combined with molasses and EM4 in the maintenance of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fry in flooded soil ponds has not been conducted until now. Therefore, research using fermented feed needs to be conducted to obtain the right usage technique. This study aims to determine the effective dose of coconut water to improve the growth performance of tilapia fry maintained in soil ponds. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The treatments given in this study consisted of treatment A (Treatment without giving green coconut water, commercial pellet feed 1 kg + 200 mL boiled water + 20 mL molasses + 10 mL EM4 probiotic), B (Treatment commercial pellet feed 1 kg + 150 mL boiled water + 50 mL  coconut water + 20 mL molasses + 10 mL EM4 probiotic), C (Treatment commercial pellet feed 1 kg + 100 mL boiled water + 100 mL coconut water + 20 mL molasses + 10 mL EM4 probiotic), and D (Treatment commercial pellet feed 1 kg + 200 mL coconut water + 20 mL molasses + 10 mL EM4 probiotic). Tilapia seeds measuring 2.66-3.06 g were randomly spread into 12 hapa nets measuring 1x1x1 m3, which were installed in an earthen pond with a stocking number of 30 fish/hapa net. The test fish were kept for 28 days and given test feed with a frequency of 1 time/day. The research parameters consisted of harvest biomass (Bt), daily growth rate (DGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), feed efficiency (EP), and survival rate (SVR). Providing fermented feed based on green coconut water with the lowest and highest doses did not provide optimum results on the growth of catfish. Optimum results were obtained in treatment B.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe a project-based learning strategy (PjBL) with Problem-based Learning (PBL) towards reviewed learning independence from student discipline. The research method used in this study is Quantitative with the model or approach of quasi-experimental design (pretest-posttest) as the design. The study was conducted from March to July 2023 in Class II SDN 2 Cibeuti, Tasikmalaya, West Java. Counting is the chosen learning material. Data collection techniques use tests and nontes. In this study, the test (pretest-posttest) is a double-choice test, while the non-test consists of documentation, interviews with teachers, and student discipline observation sheets. These are all used to evaluate learning processes and outcomes, including student activities. With a total of 25 students in the experimental and control classes. The data analysis techniques used are obtained from the test results of the independent value of learning mathematics as well as from the use of statistics. Data analysis techniques to test the hypothesis of independent learning mathematics results pre-testposttest using SPSS 25 for Windows Data from the research results showed that class II students at SDN 2 Cibeuti, Tasikmalaya, had significant learning independence when implementing PjBL and PBL strategies. In an effort to improve the independence of students in class II on math subjects in SDN 2 Cibeuti, statistical tests showed that the significance of posttest results in both classes is less than 0.05. Analysis of the results of independent mathematical learning showed significant improvements using PjBL strategies in the experimental class, with an average posttest score (96.00) higher than the mean posttest value for the PBL strategy in the control class (62.40). The results of this study show that the PjBL strategy is more effective than the PBL strategy. Therefore, it can be concluded that the project-based learning strategy (PjBL) is effective.

Abstract

The skill of handwriting, particularly in the form of cursive writing, plays a crucial role in the cognitive and motor development of elementary school students. This study aims to analyze the needs of both teachers and students in relation to innovative models for teaching cursive writing in elementary schools. The research was conducted at SDN 01 Tunggulrejo, focusing on the challenges faced by fifth-grade students who show a diverse range of abilities in cursive handwriting. The study employed a qualitative approach, using interviews, surveys, and class observations to collect data. The findings reveal that the current model of teaching cursive writing is largely conventional and ineffective in meeting the diverse needs of students. Most teachers expressed the need for more innovative, flexible, and technology-integrated models to enhance the effectiveness of handwriting instruction. Additionally, students face difficulties in maintaining consistency in letter formation and writing speed, which highlights the necessity for more interactive and engaging learning strategies. The study concludes that incorporating digital tools, educational games, and teacher training can significantly improve both the motivation and the skills of students in cursive writing. These findings suggest that an integrated approach combining conventional models with modern technologies can provide a more comprehensive and effective solution for teaching cursive handwriting in elementary education.

Abstract

Differentiated Indonesian language instruction plays a vital role in supporting the optimal achievement of literacy competencies among elementary school students. This study aims to describe the implementation, identify obstacles, and explore solutions in applying differentiated Indonesian language instruction through the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach at SD Negeri 03 Tunggulrejo. The research was conducted with fourth-grade students who exhibited diverse levels of learning abilities. The method used was a descriptive qualitative approach to comprehensively illustrate the strategies, challenges, and solutions encountered during the implementation of TaRL. Data collection techniques included classroom observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, as well as documentation of instructional materials. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity tested through triangulation and member checking. The main findings of the study indicate that the TaRL approach is effective in grouping students based on initial assessment results and in designing instruction tailored to their individual needs. Students with lower proficiency levels showed gradual improvement in reading and writing comprehension, while higher-level students were appropriately challenged. The challenges encountered included limited time, a lack of varied learning media, and the need for teacher adaptation to the new approach. However, through well-planned differentiated instruction strategies, teacher training, and collaboration among teachers, parents, and students, the implementation of TaRL was more effective. This study concludes that integrating the TaRL approach into differentiated Indonesian language instruction not only enhances students' literacy skills but also fosters learning motivation and creates a more inclusive, adaptive, and meaningful learning experience for all students.

Abstract

Purpose: The objective of this study is to describe the forms of code mixing used in daily conversation and to identify the factors that cause code mixing in the daily conversations of students at SMK Entrepreneur Indonesia Sragen. Methodology: This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with students’ speech as the data source. Data were collected through free listening, note-taking, recording, interviews, and observation techniques. Results: The results show that forms of code mixing found include words, phrases, baster, and clauses in Javanese, Arabic, and English, which are inserted into Indonesian speech. Three factors were identified as the causes of code mixing: casual and informal situations, environmental influences, and the use of more popular terms. Applications/Originality/Value: The application or authenticity of this research lies in providing insights into the forms and causes of code mixing that occur naturally in students’ daily conversations, which can be used as a reference for further sociolinguistic studies or to develop teaching strategies that address bilingual or multilingual contexts in schools.
