Abstract

Motoric competence is a competency that requires understanding in carrying out physical activities. However, in the learning process motor competence is carried out without the support of understanding so that it results in students experiencing difficulties and confusion in executing the motor skills they have when in a different environment during training or learning. The research aims to measure the success of stimulation of motor competence by using the field games approach. The research was conducted in the pre-experimental type with the One Group Pretest Posttest Designs type. The experiment was conducted on twelve elementary school students in fourteen meetings. The research involved twelve fourth grade elementary school students who were taken randomly by selecting numbers at random. The instrument for measuring students' motor skills used the Test of Gross Motor Development revision 2 edition (TGMD-2) and understanding of playing using the Games Performance Assessment Instrument (GPAI) and the measurement results were analyzed using a quantitative descriptive method. The results showed that there had been an increase in the rating of students' motor skills and the average score of students' games performance. This result is due to the learning that is carried out using the field games approach which is able to encourage students to be active in making movements and facilitating metacognition processes such as decision making, critical thinking, and problem-solving. The conclusion of learning done with the field games approach can stimulate students' motor competence

Abstract

Children in conflict with the law are entitled to receive education and rehabilitation while serving their sentences in the Juvenile Correctional Institution (LPKA). Education serves not only as an academic right but also as a means of moral and social rehabilitation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Package C Program for juvenile inmates at LPKA Class II Sungai Raya, Kubu Raya Regency, focusing on the aspects of planning, implementation, and outcomes. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving LPKA officers, PKBM Khadijah educators, and juvenile participants. The findings indicate that the Package C Program was implemented through participatory planning based on learners’ needs, collaborative execution between LPKA and PKBM Khadijah, and continuous evaluation. The program positively impacted the cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and social development of the inmates. It not only functioned as an educational program but also as a medium for character formation and social reintegration. Conceptually, the implementation reflected non-formal education principles that are flexible, humanistic, and contextual, aligning with the objectives of the correctional system to build independent, responsible, and productive individuals. The study concludes that non-formal education within LPKA effectively supports the rehabilitation and empowerment of children in conflict with the law. Further research is recommended to strengthen experiential learning models and improve facilities and psychosocial support to enhance the sustainability of equality education programs in correctional institutions.

Abstract

Proper warm-up is very important to prevent injury and improve the performance of martial artists. The suitability of special warm-up with core training in pencak silat is something that coaches need to pay attention to in coaching martial artists. Warm-up is an activity before starting training in various sports. The training load from the warm-up session, core training, and closing must be given according to the characteristics and needs of each martial artist. This study aims to assess the suitability of special warm-up movements for pencak silat martial artists to perform movements related to core movement. training. The research sample from the Kijang Berantai Pontianak school with a total of 15 people. The research instruments were observation sheets and documentation. The data analysis technique used was descriptive quantitative. The results of the analysis can be concluded that on the first day of core punch training there were 17 Special Warm-ups that were suitable for core training with a total percentage of 42.5%. On the second day of core training for front kicks, crescent kicks, T kicks there were 24 Special Warm-ups that were suitable with a total percentage of 60%. On the third day of core training for scissors and blocks there were 15 Special Warm-ups that were suitable on the third day with a percentage of 37.5%. So from the overall research results, the specific warm-up is still not suitable for the core training. Suggestions for trainers to practice and pay attention to the ability to be adjusted to the core training warm-up until the end so that the training undertaken does not trigger the risk of injury and can optimize the performance of the athletes.

Abstract

Research Objectives: VO₂max represents the maximum capacity of the body to utilize oxygen during physical activity and reflects an individual's level of cardiorespiratory fitness. VO₂max can be measured using various field tests, including the Bleep Test and the Harvard Step Test. Research Objectives: This study aimed to compare the estimated VO₂max results obtained from these two methods using the same subjects. Methods: This research employed a descriptive approach involving 18 active students from the Sports Coaching Education Program at Campus III of the Faculty of Sport Sciences, Universitas Tanjungpura, as the research sample. The instruments used were the Bleep Test and the Harvard Step Test. In the Bleep Test, participants performed a 20-meter shuttle run following the rhythm of a “bleep” sound until reaching their maximum capacity. In the Harvard Step Test, participants performed stepping exercises on a 30 cm bench for 5 minutes, preceded by a 5-minute seated rest to measure the resting pulse, followed by recovery pulse measurements every minute for three minutes. Data were analyzed descriptively and further tested using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The results showed that the average estimated VO₂max from the Bleep Test was 36.50 ml/kg/min, while the Harvard Step Test produced an average of 36.57 ml/kg/min. The Wilcoxon test indicated a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.704 (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Therefore, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the estimated VO₂max results obtained from the Bleep Test and the Harvard Step Test. However, the Harvard Step Test can be considered an alternative method for measuring VO₂max due to its practicality in implementation.
