Abstract

Generation Z increasingly engage in doom spending driven by global economic uncertainty, diminished confidence in long-term financial security, and the pervasive influence of digital consumer culture. This behavior undermines individual financial stability and threatens family and societal economic resilience. The rising prevalence of doom spending among Generation Z has become a significant concern, particularly regarding family economic resilience. Consequently, this study reconstructs Maqāṣid al-Syarī‘ah fī Ḥifẓ al-Māl as a normative and ethical framework to address impulsive, emotion-based consumption among Generation Z couples in the digital economy. Integrating Islamic ethics, psychological coping theory, and contemporary consumption studies, this research employs a qualitative method with descriptive-analytical design. Findings indicate that doom spending negatively impacts family financial stability, exacerbates emotional stress, and conflicts with core Islamic principles including moderation (wasaṭiyyah), contentment (qanā‘ah), and prohibition of extravagance (tabżīr). The study underscores strengthening family economic resilience through digital financial literacy, open financial communication between couples, integration of Islamic consumption values, productive technology utilization, and community-based financial education. By implementing these strategies, Generation Z couples can achieve balanced financial management, enhance household resilience, and align consumption behavior with ethical and spiritual principles. This research contributes to the broader discourse on integrating Islamic value-based approaches into contemporary financial practices and offers a conceptual framework for sustainable, morally responsible household economic management.

Abstract

The 1979 Iranian Revolution stands as a pivotal event in modern Islamic history, driven not only by political and economic factors but also by an identity crisis resulting from the Pahlavi Dynasty's secular modernization project. This study aims to analyze the relationship between secular modernization, the identity crisis within Iranian society, and the emergence of the revolution as a response to the state's cultural delegitimization. Utilizing a literature review method with a historical-analytical approach, data were gathered from relevant primary and secondary sources and analyzed qualitatively through historical interpretation to trace the causal links between modernization, the marginalization of religious institutions, and revolutionary mobilization. The findings indicate that the top-down, Western-oriented secular modernization initiated by the regime created social dislocation and a profound identity crisis. The secularization of public institutions, the marginalization of the ulama (clergy), and the penetration of Western culture weakened the cultural legitimacy of the Pahlavi regime. In this context, Islam was rearticulated by scholars and intellectuals as an ideology of resistance, capable of mobilizing diverse social groups into a revolutionary movement. In conclusion, the 1979 Iranian Revolution was not merely a consequence of political and economic failure, but also the result of a conflict between the state's secular modernization project and the religio-cultural identity of the people. These findings emphasize that modernization processes insensitive to a society's identity structures have the potential to trigger state delegitimization and the resurgence of political Islam.

Abstract

Intinya pengelolaan bank sampah masih mengalami banyak kendala.

Abstract

In this rapidly evolving modern era, the primary challenge in Islamic religious education is how to maintain the true values taught in Islam, especially among the younger generation exposed to the influence of globalization, social media, and secular lifestyles. This study aims to analyze the role of discipline in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at MTs NU Kraksaan in maintaining Islamic values amidst modern progress. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, collecting data through in-depth interviews with five Islamic education teachers and direct classroom observations. The results show that discipline in Islamic education not only includes adherence to formal classroom rules but also plays an important role in internalizing religious values in students' daily lives. Discipline is applied through reinforcing classroom rules and instilling religious values in students' routines. Despite challenges such as the influence of social media and limited facilities, consistent discipline implementation positively impacts the strengthening of students' character and morals. The conclusion of this study is that discipline in Islamic education at MTs NU Kraksaan functions as an effective tool to maintain and strengthen the values of Islamic truth among students. This research contributes to the theory of Islamic education by emphasizing the importance of discipline in shaping students' character. The implications of this study highlight the importance of enhancing the role of parents and supporting facilities in the implementation of discipline. Recommendations for future research include exploring the impact of technology on discipline in Islamic education and its application in various madrasahs.

Abstract

Microplastics are extremely small plastic particles that have become a major concern in public health and environmental studies. This literature review aims to discuss the sources of microplastics, their routes of exposure to the human body, their distribution in organs, and their potential health impacts. The method used was a literature review of scientific articles and reports published from 2021 onward, retrieved from Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and official websites of organizations such as the WHO, OECD, and the World Bank. The review findings show that microplastics originate from plastic waste, synthetic clothing, cosmetics, vehicle tires, and food packaging. These particles have been detected in blood, lungs, the placenta, feces, and various human tissues, indicating that human exposure is widespread. However, evidence from human studies is still limited, so cause-and-effect relationships cannot yet be confirmed with certainty. Based on these findings, further research is needed to better understand the long-term health effects of microplastics. In addition, efforts to reduce single-use plastics, improve waste management systems, and increase public education are essential to reduce exposure and prevent future health risks.
