Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively describe and analyze the design and implementation strategies for integrating the Salafiyah Dayah curriculum and Formal Diniyah Education (PDF) at Dayah Babussalam Al Hanafiyah. In line with the demands of formal recognition and globalization, traditional educational institutions such as dayah are faced with the challenge of adapting without sacrificing their Islamic identity. Dayah Babussalam Al Hanafiyah has taken a strategic policy by implementing the PDF program since 2015 to integrate the epistemology of tafaqquh fiddin with national curriculum standards. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with the dayah leadership, the head of the PDF, the teaching staff, and students, as well as a curriculum documentation study. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that the curriculum integration design strategy was implemented through a collaborative planning and strategic alignment approach involving various stakeholders to formulate a bi-disciplinary curriculum. The integration model implemented encompasses four main pathways: interdisciplinary-substantive (linking science with theological concepts), structural-organizational (implementing a dual schedule system), technological-convergent (using digital media), and affective through the hidden curriculum (internalizing values through daily worship traditions). The implementation of this strategy is supported by visionary leadership that combines Salafiyah values with modern management based on the principles of shura, amanah, and itqan. Furthermore, the effectiveness of this integration has been proven to have a significant impact on improving the holistic competence of students. Based on the competency dimension, students showed improvements in aspects of motivation and self-concept through pride in religious-academic identity, mastery of dual knowledge (yellow books and science), and 21st-century skills including critical thinking, communication, and collaboration through mubahatsah forums. In terms of character, this integration strengthens discipline and social leadership based on Islamic values. This study concludes that the integration model at Dayah Babussalam Al Hanafiyah reflects the evolution from a mono-disciplinary system to a multi-lens educational framework that is adaptive to changing times while remaining firmly grounded in tradition. These findings contribute to the development of a practical model (best practice) for integrative curriculum management in Salafiyah Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the correlation between economics and Islam. This research uses qualitative research, with a normative juridical approach and data collection techniques by means of literature study. The results of this study indicate that Islam is a perfect religion that regulates all aspects of human life including the economy. This is proven by the concept of welfare described in the Qur'an and Sunnah. Basically, the purpose of every human being's life is to achieve welfare, although humans interpret welfare from different perspectives. Most economic understandings assume that welfare is worldly material welfare. However, Islam defines welfare with the term Falah, which means holistic and balanced welfare between the material and spiritual dimensions. The Quran and Sunnah have taught that welfare will be achieved if humans live a life in balance between their material and spiritual lives. This is because human life does not only stop in this world, but there is still a second life that humans will face in the hereafter, and welfare will be achieved truly if humans can balance the needs of the world and the hereafter, and that is what is taught in Islamic economics

Abstract

Andaliman leaves (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) are a traditional plant native to North Sumatra with potential as a natural antioxidant source due to their phenolic and flavonoid compounds. This study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant potential of the ethyl acetate extract of andaliman leaves based on total phenolic content, total flavonoid content, and antioxidant activity. Extraction was carried out using the maceration method with ethyl acetate as the solvent. Total flavonoid content was determined using the AlCl₃ method with quercetin as the standard, while total phenolic content was analyzed using the Folin– Ciocalteu method with gallic acid as the standard. Antioxidant activity was evaluated using the DPPH radical scavenging assay. The results showed that the ethyl acetate extract of andaliman leaves contained 73.40 mg QE/g extract of total flavonoids (7.3%) and 148.48 mg GAE/g extract of total phenolics. The antioxidant activity test yielded an IC₅₀ value of 4,2485 µg/mL, indicating that the extract exhibits very strong antioxidant activity. The high levels of phenolic and flavonoid compounds are believed to play an important role in the radical scavenging activity observed. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the ethyl acetate extract of andaliman leaves has strong potential to be developed as a natural antioxidant source for applications in the pharmaceutical and health fields.

Abstract

Generation Z increasingly engage in doom spending driven by global economic uncertainty, diminished confidence in long-term financial security, and the pervasive influence of digital consumer culture. This behavior undermines individual financial stability and threatens family and societal economic resilience. The rising prevalence of doom spending among Generation Z has become a significant concern, particularly regarding family economic resilience. Consequently, this study reconstructs Maqāṣid al-Syarī‘ah fī Ḥifẓ al-Māl as a normative and ethical framework to address impulsive, emotion-based consumption among Generation Z couples in the digital economy. Integrating Islamic ethics, psychological coping theory, and contemporary consumption studies, this research employs a qualitative method with descriptive-analytical design. Findings indicate that doom spending negatively impacts family financial stability, exacerbates emotional stress, and conflicts with core Islamic principles including moderation (wasaṭiyyah), contentment (qanā‘ah), and prohibition of extravagance (tabżīr). The study underscores strengthening family economic resilience through digital financial literacy, open financial communication between couples, integration of Islamic consumption values, productive technology utilization, and community-based financial education. By implementing these strategies, Generation Z couples can achieve balanced financial management, enhance household resilience, and align consumption behavior with ethical and spiritual principles. This research contributes to the broader discourse on integrating Islamic value-based approaches into contemporary financial practices and offers a conceptual framework for sustainable, morally responsible household economic management.

Abstract

Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) is a congenital heart defect that causes chronic low oxygen levels, increased right ventricular workload, and a higher risk of complications. Weaning mechanical ventilation in patients with TOF is particularly challenging due to right ventricular dysfunction, muscle weakness, and the risk of heart failure. This study evaluates the use of a spontaneous breathing trial (SBT) strategy with pressure support ventilation (PSV) mode for mechanical ventilation weaning in pediatric patients with TOF. An observational study was conducted on a six-year-old pediatric patient with TOF and a cerebral abscess who underwent mechanical ventilation weaning using the SBT technique with PSV mode. The patient’s vital signs (heart rate and respiratory rate) and oxygen saturation were monitored 24 h before, during, and 24 h after the trial. Weaning was successfully completed within 11 h without signs of failure, such as hypoxemia or muscle fatigue. The rapid shallow breathing index measured prior to weaning was within an acceptable range. The patient’s physiological parameters remained stable throughout the process, and no Tet spells were observed. These findings suggest that SBT combined with PSV mode is a viable weaning strategy in pediatric TOF cases, particularly when a longer trial duration is used. However, because this report is based on a single case, the results should be interpreted with caution and cannot be generalized to all patients with TOF.
