Abstract

Social changes in rural communities require young people to play an active role as agents of change in social and cultural development. However, in Dayak Pitap Village, youth participation remains low due to the Karang Taruna youth organization not functioning optimally. This study aims to revitalize the role of youth through the establishment and strengthening of the Karang Taruna “Iyam Mitra Muda” organization as a forum for nurturing the younger generation in the social, cultural, and leadership fields. The main programs implemented include organizing institutional structures, formulating vision, mission, and statutes, improving managerial capacity, and fostering a pioneering spirit through social and cultural activities. The results of these activities show a significant increase in the administrative, coordination, and leadership abilities of young people, accompanied by a growing collective awareness of the importance of their participation in village development. Through various activities such as Indonesian Independence Day celebrations, PBB/Linmas training, and involvement in traditional ceremonies, young people have become more active, disciplined, and united in carrying out their social roles. In addition, the formation of a clear organizational structure and the drafting of AD/ART have become the basis for Karang Taruna to move in a more focused and sustainable direction. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that Karang Taruna “Iyam Mitra Muda” plays a strategic role in strengthening the capacity of youth as the driving force of social development in Dayak Pitap Village. This study is expected to be a reference for the development of youth empowerment models in other villages in a participatory and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Increased cost utilization in MSMEs is one of the factors that determine the development of a business, including the challenge of cost distortion due to the use of a traditional Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) system that is subjective and ignores the hidden costs of non-value-added activities. This study aims to analyze cost distortions and identify hidden costs in Cahaya Aluminium MSMEs using the Activity-Based Management (ABM) approach. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive with a single case study design and a descriptive-comparative approach. Primary data was obtained through in-depth interviews validated through triangulation of informal cost data. Data analysis techniques used thematic analysis, starting from data collection, data reduction through Activity-Based Management (ABM) activity coding, and using Activity-Based Cost (ABC) simulations presented in a comparison matrix. The results of the Activity-Based Costing (ABC) simulation showed significant cost distortions in the Kitchen Set (Complex Product) aspect, which experienced undercosting, and the Dish Cabinet (Standard Product), which experienced overcosting. These distortions were triggered by non-value-added activities such as rework and material return waiting time. Based on these results, it can be seen that Activity-Based Management (ABM) through material synchronization and supplier evaluation can improve the accuracy of HPP and operational efficiency for Cahaya Aluminium MSMEs

Abstract

Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning within the Merdeka Curriculum demands the implementation of instructional models capable of facilitating active student engagement while optimally improving learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the comparison of IPAS learning outcomes of third-grade elementary school students through the application of the Direct Instruction model in Chapter 4 (Energy and Its Changes) and the Problem Based Learning model in Chapter 6 (I Am Part of Society). The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental one-group comparative design. The research subjects consisted of 20 third-grade students from the same class. Data collection used validated and reliable multiple-choice and short-answer tests. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene homogeneity test, and Independent Sample t-Test using SPSS version 26. Results showed that the mean learning outcomes of the Direct Instruction group was 81.25 (Good category) and the Problem Based Learning group was 94.5 (Very Good category), with a mean difference of 13.25. The Independent Sample t-Test yielded t = -4.321, df = 38, and Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05, thus H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. These findings indicate a significant difference between IPAS learning outcomes through Direct Instruction and Problem Based Learning models, where Problem Based Learning proved more effective in improving third-grade elementary school students' learning outcomes
