Abstract

Abstract A lot of educators who are still using the conventional materials, i.e., instant, and without efforts to plan, prepare, and organize themselves. So, it’s risk is very possible if the learning materials they use are not contextual, not interesting, boring, and not in accordance with the needs of students. The method used was the research and development method. The results of this research, The interactive learning material developed was feasible. Because this learning material was stated to be very valid and feasible by experts even though it has a slight disadvantage. The learning material was able to increase students' skills. After using its, 95.65% of 23 students have intellectual skills in solving questions about daily life related to the area in the integral, 86.96% can find the intersection of the two curves that intersect and determine the area that is limited by the interval and determine the area of the area limited by the intersection of the two curves. For physical skills, 86.96% of 23 students can describe the area to be searched for if it is limited by the curve. Keywords: Area, Development, Interactive Teaching Materials, Skills

Abstract

AbstractThe importance of representation is also contained in the principles and standards of school mathematics evaluation. As much as 26% of students in class XI MIA-2 are completed and as much as 74% is declared incomplete. Based on the results of the study and the interview of three students the researcher suspected an indication of low student representation ability in linear program subject matter. There is a positive relationship between the self-concept of mathematics and the mathematical achievement one of them is self-confidence. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive with a form of survey research. Based on the self-confidence level, students who have high self-confidence tend to have high mathematical representation capabilities. The ability of mathematical representation of students who have high self-confidence has the ability to translate with 86% classified very high, while the ability of transformation with the achievement of 78% classified high. Students who have self-confidence in the translation capabilities with a 69% high classified ability, while the ability to transform with 47% of being classified is moderate. Students who have low self-confidence, have an ability to translate with 58% are classified as moderate, while the ability of transformation with 36% classified is low.Keyword: Ability, Mathematical Representation, Self-Confidence

Abstract

This research’s purposes were to know and describe the effectiveness of mathematicslearning uses an open-ended approach on the broad material of triangles andrectengles at SMPN 4 Tebas. There were three indicators that were used to determinedthe effectiveness of mathematics learning uses an open-ended approach, such: teacherimplementation in managing learning, learning activities of learners, and learningoutcome of learners. The method used was descriptive method. The form of researchused was experimental. There were two techniques to collecting data, that aremeasurement techniques and direct observation techniques. The research subject isclass VIIC at SMPN 4 Tebas. Based on the data analysis obtained, the result are: (1)teacher implementation in managing learning catagorized good with average score3,16; (2) learning activities of learners categorized active with average score 78,04%;(3) learning outcome of learners archieve classical completeness, namly as much as76,67% of learners archieving minimum learning completeness. Because threeindicators of effectiveness are fulfilled, it mean that the effectiveness of mathematicslearning uses an open-ended approach is effective to be applied to the broad materialof triangles and rectangles at SMPN 4 Tebas.Keyword: Broad Material Triangles and Rectangle, Effectiveness, Open-Ended Approach

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to study students' mathematical communication skills in a linear program in terms of visual learning styles at MAN 1 Pontianak. The method used is descriptive method in the form of survey research. The data source used in this study was the students of class XI MIPA 1 at MAN 1 Pontianak. Data collection tools used were non-test consisting of a questionnaire to measure visual learning styles and written tests to understand students' communication skills. Based on the test results, students are able to connect real objects into mathematical ideas, students are able to describe everyday events using language or mathematical symbols and are able to explain some mathematical problems into the form of images. The results of data analysis show that the communication skills of students with visual learning styles are of good qualityKeywords: Linear Program, Mathematical Communication, Visual Learning Style

Abstract

Abstract Students mathematical problem solving abilities are one of the most important aspects that students must master at the basic stage in learning mathematics. This study aims to describe students mathematical problem-solving abilities in flat shapes. The subjects in this study were students of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Jawai. The data collection techniques used were direct communication and test techniques. The results obtained were the high mathematical problem solving ability of 20%, the students mathematical problem solving ability was 64% and 16% of the students had low mathematical problem solving abilities. In general students mathematical problem solving abilities are in the medium category. Students mathematical problem solving abilities differ from each indicator of problem solving abilities namely students ability to understand problems, students ability to plan, students ability to implement solving plans, and students ability to re-examine. Abstract

AbstractThe background of this research is the 2013 curriculum that developed in Indonesia requires students to learn mathematic must reach a Higher Order Thinking Skill. To measure students Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS), test instrument need to be develop. This type of research is research and development. The instrument development by Tessmer which consists of Self-Evaluation, Experts Review, One to One, Small Group, dan Field Test stages. Data collection techniques are written and data collection tools are written test instruments. Based on  the results of the field test, the validity of the questions analyzed (C4) is 30%,  evaluating(C5) is 30% and creating (C6) is 40%, the reliability of the test instrument is high, namely 0.7254. the difficulty level is good with 70% moderate and 30% difficult, and good differentiation where there are no bad problems. The results of the product in this study are ten Higher Order Thinking Skill questions. Keywords: Bloom Taxonomy, Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS), Test Instrument

Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to describe studentss misconceptions on permutation and combination material in 12th grade of SMA Taruna Bumi Khatulistiwa. The research method used in this study is a descriptive method in the form of case study research. The techniques used in this study are measurement techniques and direct communication techniques with data collection tools including four-tire diagnostic test sheet and interview guidance sheet. From the calculation results obtained that in the permutation material most students experienced misconceptions in item number 4 about 47% and wehereas in combination material many students experienced misconceptions in item number 3 about 24%. There are two forms of misconceptions that occur in students, namely systematic misconceptions and careless misconceptions. Based on the data obtained it can be concluded that students misconceptions on permutation and combination material in 12th grade of SMA Taruna Bumi Khatulistiwa are categorized into systematic misconceptions and careless misconceptions that are caused by incorrect reasoning. Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to describe the mathematical concepts found in the activities of bamboo weaving craftsmen in the form of nyiru, capil and bakul of the Sejangkung community. The subjects in this study were the Sejangkung community consisting of four people who were selected based on their ability to make woven crafts from bamboo. The form of research used was exploratory research with an ethnographic approach. The results and data analysis obtained from this study were (1) In the craftsmen's activity in choosing bamboo that is suitable for use, determine the thickness of the ilik, determine the woven motif, and determining the length, width, and height of the plait containing the set concept, logical concepts, proportion concepts, ratio concepts, geometry concepts, number pattern concepts, geometric transformation concepts, and the concept of multiplication operations on integers. (2) In the craftsmen's activities in cleaning and determining the length of bamboo, ilik drying process, and determine the pituk on the webbing contained the concept of measurement. (3) The activity of craftsmen in making woven patterns contained the concept of folding symmetry. (4) The activity of the craftsman determined the location of the motif in one woven which contains the concept of distance. Keywords: Study Ethnomathematics, The Sejangkung Community, Weaving Craftsman Activity
