Abstract

This study aimed to produce a Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) test that can be used to measure the higher-order thinking skills of junior high school students. This research is development research that uses the Four-D model. The developed test consists of 25 multiple choice questions which have been validated by two physics education lecturers, FKIP Untan, and three science teachers. The results of the content validation of the validator were 0.903 and analyzed using the Aiken formula. The experiment was conducted on 49 students in the small-scale trial and 163 students from three different schools in the large-scale trial. The results of the experiment show that the HOTS test developed is feasible to use, where the characteristics of the test have high reliability, easy, medium, and high difficulty levels. the readability level is met according to the junior high school level, the index is less than or equal to 6, and the validity is high. The validity of the items shows that there were 22 valid item test questions based on the SPSS application. the reliability of the items was 0.725 based on the KR20 calculation, the index of the difficulty level of the test is easy, medium, and high, and the readability level was 5.25 or fulfilled according to the junior high school level. Based on the characteristics of the HOTS test, researchers obtained test items that can be used to measure higher thinking skills in junior high school students. There were 21 questions out of 25 questions that have been developed.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to analize learning outcomes of student through Transcript Based Lesson Analysis (TBLA) on dynamic fluid in high school at SMA Islam Al Azhar 10 Pontianak. This research method is descriptive qualitative. This study involved 22 students of class XI SMA Islam Al Azhar 10 Pontianak who were taught by a physics teacher who was accustomed to following online Lesson Study. Learning activities were recorded in audio and video, then the recorded data was transcripted in verbal form and analyzed. The results of the transcript analysis are important data to determine the interactions that occur in learning towards student learning outcomes. The results showed that classically, there was a decrease in learning outcomes from cycle 1 to cycle 2, namely the percentage of learning outcomes in cycle 1 was 57,6% and the percentage in cycle 2 was 30,3%. Based on the learning transcript the decline in learning outcomes occurs due to several factors, including a lack of motivation in cycle 2 which causes low student attention and curiosity and learning tends to be boring. Judging from the cognitive abilities of students on the learning outcomes test in cycle 1, the highest average percentage achievement was the cognitive ability to predict (C5) of 90,9%. While the lowest average percentage in cycle 1 is the cognitive ability to analyze (C4) of 36,4%. In cycle 2, the highest average percentage achievement is the cognitive ability to understand (C2) of 45,4%. While the lowest average percentage in cycle 2 is the cognitive ability to apply (C3) of 18,2%. This research is expected to be a guideline and reference in developing learning strategies in physics problems to improve student leatning outcomes.Keyword: Learning Outcomes, Lesson Study, Transcript Based Lesson Analysis (TBLA)

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to know the effectivity of the Relating Experiencing Applying Cooperating Transferring (REACT) design to remediate the misconceptions of the students toward work and energy subject. This study used quasy-experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design which 58 students participated at the X grade in SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya, which was taken by simple random sampling. The data was taken by 14 multiple choice open-ended questions. The average of the reduction of the misconceptions in the experimental class was 47.42%, where as in control group was 18.86 %. Based on U Mann-Whitney with significance 5%, showed that there was a significant difference between the REACT design and conventional design to remediate the student’s misconceptions in work and energy. REACT design is effective in remediating the student’s misconceptions in work and energy with effect size score in 4.08 which is categorized high enough by Cohen. So the REACT design can be used as the alternative design for remediating the misconceptions.Keyword: Misconception, REACT, Remediation,  Work and energy

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe the response of students at using refutation text handbook as teaching materials on momentum and impulse materials. The data were collected questionnaire that was given after learning with refutation text teaching materials ended 32 students of science class at SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak participated for this research. The results showed that the students' responses to refutation text teaching materials obtained an average percentage of eligibility of 83.34% with very high criteria. Thus students responded well to this teaching material with a Refutation Text structure, it greatly increases learning motivation, students have the opportunity to work with friends, they have something new in learning and lessons that are easy to remember. The teaching material in this study is a set of made in the form of refutation text that describes the explanation referring to the misunderstanding of students’ misunderstanding of scientific concepts packaged by schools in order to attract students responses in learning.Keyword: Analysis of Student Response, Momentum and Impulses, Teaching Materials Refutation.

Abstract

AbstractThis study investigated the effectiveness of integrated remediation misconception with conceptual change model type Elicit, Confront, Identify, Resolve, Reinforce (ECIRR) to reduce the number of students who have misconceptions on harmonic vibration at SMAN 7 Pontianak. This research is pre-experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. Intact group random sampling used in this research which involved 38 students of X MIA 1 class. The diagnostic test which consists of 14 multiple choices with open reason used to identification student’s misconceptions. Based on the result, the average decrease of students who have misconceptions were 72,75% with significant differences after instruction with the value of Zscore = -3,30 by Wilcoxon test. Students’ conception had changed statically significant ( after instruction. So the effectiveness of conceptual change model with ECIRR type was the highest category in conceptual change (∆S = 0,7275). This research is expected to be used as alternative remediation activities to reduce misconceptions in a learning process.   Keywords: Integrated remediation of misconception, ECIRR, harmonic vibration

Abstract

AbstractThe study examined the effect of  problem based learning model  to improve student learning outcomes in work and  simple plane. The method of this research was pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest. The sample was  31 students of VIII C grade SMPN 17 Pontianak for participan which has taken by purposive sampling technique. The instrument used multiple choice with 20 question . Learning outcomes from the usage of problem based learning model before being applied (pretest) with an average score of 46.30 on low category. The posttest obtained an average score of 57.42% on medium category. It improved on medium category with N-gain  10.47. The results of using the problem based learning model in improving learning outcomes based on pretest and posttest using the Kolmogrov Simornov test showed a significant difference. The effectivity of this problem based learning modelis 0.67(medium level). The results of this study are expected to be an alternative in an effort to improve student learning outcomes by using a problem based learning model. Keywords: Problem Based Learning Model, Learning Outcome, Work and  Simple Plane

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to analyze the effect of the application of guided inquiry learning models on the learning outcomes of students on Newton's style and law material in class VIII Pontianak Islamic MTs. The form of this research is Quasi Experimental Design with Non equivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique used is intact group. The instrument used in the form of a description test is 5 questions. Data were analyzed using Mann Whitney U test with α 5%. Obtained Zhitung <Ztabel (-2,566 <-1,96). Which means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows that there are differences in learning outcomes of students who are given inquiry-guided learning models with conventional learning. The effective of learning using guided inquiry learning models referred to in the high category with an effect size value of 0.8 and contributes 28.81% to the increase in learning outcomes of students. Keywords:       guided inquiry, learning outcomes, newton style and law
