Abstract

Pengembangan kawasan objek wisata Pantai Natsepa berpotensi didukung oleh sumber daya pesisir. Objek wisata Pantai Natsepa terletak di Desa Suli pulau Ambon. Keberhasilan dari objek wisata sangat tergantung pada peran penting dari masyarakat di daerah sekitarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengidentifikasi usaha yang berdampak terhadap pendapatan masyarakat yang memanfaatkan jasa objek wisata pantai Natsepa, (2) menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat pendapatan masyarakat yang memanfaatkan jasa objek wisata pantai Natsepa, (3) menganalisis tingkat kesejahteraan rumah tangga masyarakat yang menggunakan jasa objek wisata pantai Natsepa. Analisis data meliputi (1) analisis deskriptif, (2) analisis regresi ganda dengan spesifikasi-log menggunakan teknik Stepwise, dan (3) analisis indikator kesejahteraan SUSENAS-BPS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor yang mempengaruhi pendapatan kelompok rumah tangga yaitu, jumlah anggota keluarga, tingkat pengeluaran, dan curahan waktu kerja. Berdasarkan tingkat kesejahteraan sebagian besar rumah tangga yang memanfaatkan jasa objek wisata pantai Natsepa mempunyai tingkat kesejahteraan sedang yaitu persentase sebesar 75%, kemudian tingkat kesejahteraan tinggi dengan persentase sebesar 22% dan yang terkecil yaitu tingkat kesejahteraan rendah dengan persentase sebesar 3%. Development of tourism site of the Natsepa beach is potentially supported by its coastal resources. The beach is located in Suli village of Ambon island. The success of the tourism site depends on the important role of the community in surrounding area of the beach. This study aimed to (1) identify businesses that have impact on income level from people that utilize the Natsepa beach, (2) analyze factors that affect the level of income of the people, and (3) analyze households welfare of the people utilize the beach. Collected data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis, multiple regression analysis with the stepwise techniques, and welfare analysis based on the indicators of SUSENAS-BPS. Results showed that the factors affecting the households income were number of family members, level of expenditure, and time spent in working. Based on the welfares indicators, 75% of the households classified into moderate level of welfare, 22% into high level, and only 3% into the low level of welfare.

Abstract

The ecological role of mangrove ecosystem is, economically, socially and physically, highly significant. Despite the many benefits provided by mangroves, they tend to be under intense pressure from competing resource used by local villagers, in particular, as firewood, or charcoal. The ecosystem is typically crucial, hence the benefits and values need to identify and estimate economically. The objectives of this research are: (1) to identify economic values of mangroves based on ecosystem benefits; and (2) to estimate total economic value (TEV) of use-value and non-use value of mangroves. The method of economic valuation was applied to estimate TEV based on the benefits of mangroves ecosystem (direct-use value, indirect-use, option use, and existence use values). Results of this research are as follows. (1) Functions and benefits of the mangrove ecosystem in the Village of Tawiri consisted of direct-use (fuel wood collection for the subsistence needs of local villagers, wild animals used by humans for subsistence purposes, near by fishing activities); indirect-use (natural barrier to shoreline erosion, highly nutritious food source for animals in the mangrove area), option use (biodiversity benefits), and existence use (WTP). (2) The TEV of mangrove was Rp 24,887,887 per year, consisting of direct-use value of Rp 11,299,500 per year (45.40%), indirect-value of Rp 9,098,077 per year (36.56%), existence value of Rp 4,083.750 per year (16.41%) and option value of Rp 406,560 per year (1.63%).

Abstract

Background: Solving a complex public health problem in the 21st century requires public health professionals who excel in the field of public health sciences (hard skills) and have skills which are general in nature (soft skills). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the achievement of hard skills and soft skills in the curriculum of Public Health Study Program of UAD (PHSP UAD). Method: A descriptive study with cross sectional design was conducted on final year students of PHSP UAD from regular and non-regular program. Achievement of hard skills was evaluated through a grade point average (GPA) from all final year students who actively involved in teaching and learning activities and those who have completed their studies. The level of importance and achievement of soft skills was evaluated by the General Skills survey from Tuning with convenience sampling. Results: The overall average of GPA (n=325) was 3.22. Achievement of soft skills (n=147) showed that the achievement of skills associated with knowledge in the field of public health were good. The achievement of capacity for applying knowledge in practice and some other skills which are needed in the working world in the 21st century were still low. Conclusion: Hard skills achievement of final year students of PHSP UAD showed satisfactory results. Satisfactory achievement of soft skills was still limited only to skills which are related to knowledge in the field of public health. Abstract

Kompetensi komputasi merupakan salah satu kompentesi utama yang harus dimiliki oleh mahasiswa fisika. Kemampuan komputasi yang meliputi kemampuan menyederhanakan permasalahan yang kompleks,pengenalan pola dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan serta mengeneralisasi pola tersebut untuk meyelesaikan masalah dalam lingkup besar. Oleh karena itu kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi komputasi fisika dan kimia mahasiswa fisika. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode focus discussion group untuk mendeteksi kelemahan serta kekuatan pemahaman masingmasing mahasiswa dalam konsep fisis, kimia dan komputasi. Setelah peserta memahami konsep fisis, kimia dan komputasi maka metode selanjutnya adalah metode praktikum. Luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah tersusunnya modul pelatihan komputasi fisika dan kimia serta tersusunya topic-topik penelitian yang terkait dengan komputasi fisika dan kimia yang dapat dijadikan sebagai topik PKM ataupun topic tugas akhir oleh mahasiswa.

Abstract

Angka kejadian BBLR masih tinggi dan beresiko bayi mengalami hipotermi yang berdampak pada kematian bayi sehingga perlu adanya perawatan yang komprehensif untuk mencegah terjadinya hipotermi pada bayi BBLR. Metode Kanguru merupakan salah satunya metode perawatan yang lebih efektif dan efisien, akan tetapi keberhasilan pelaksanaan PMK dipengaruhi oleh ibu dalam melaksanakan PMK agar bayi tidak mengalami hipotermi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan pelaksanaan PMK dengan kejadian hipotermi pada BBLR di RSUD Kanujoso Djatiwibowo Balikpapan. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif analitik dengan rancangan penelitian cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik accidental sampling sebanyak 30 responden. Analisa univariat dengan distribusi frekuensi   dan analisa bivariat dengan uji statistik ANOVA pada taraf signifikan  α  0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara pelaksanaan PMK dengan kejadian hipotermi dilihat dari nilai p value 0,000.   Saran RSUD Kanujoso Djatiwibowo melakukan evaluasi terhadap pelaksanaaan PMK dan melengkapi sarana dan prasarana, perawat memberikan motivasi kepada ibu dan keluarga dalam melaksanakan PMK

Abstract

This article would like to present how women were defined in the movie, both by male and female characters. Mills (1998) provides a tool to help the readers understanding the style of a writer through her choices of words, sentences, and even in the discourse level. A novel based movie which won and was nominated in several awards, The Breadwinner, was full of portrayal of women in the setting of Afghanistan under the Taliban rule. The tragic story was beautifully wrapped under the animated movie produced to show the real picture towards the world. The data are in the form of words, sentences and discourse spoken by male and female characters that represent the depiction of women. The data obtained are examined with the view of Sara Mills theory. It is found that in the movie, the women are represented as two opposing aspects: women representation as an object of man domination,and women as the subject who is able to speak out her mind and to decide independently.DOI: https://doi.org/10.24071/ijhs.2018.020105

Abstract

Wastewater physical examination is acknowledged as one of the fundamental parameters for identifying water quality and alleviating the environmental ramifications caused by waste. This study aims to analyze water quality and determine possible consequences on the White Nile River by performing waste analysis generated by Assalaya factory located in Assalaya province, White Nile state, Republic of Sudan. Samples collected included Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Turbidity, Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Odor, Color, temperature, and conductivity. This study employed questionnaires to recognize community perceptions. Data analysis revealed that the river had been significantly contaminated. The highest recorded concentrations for TDS, Turbidity, TSS, Odor, and Color were 1186 ppm, 28500 NTU, 2333 Mg/l, unacceptable,840 TCU,1830 µS/cm and 37.5 ⁰C, respectively. These results are not recommended by the international standard for water quality (WHO) approved range. Hence, to avoid the aftermath of the factory wastewater, this study recommends some actions to promote biological treatments. The stakeholders should inevitably follow the environmental water policy and establish the medication near the river. The government should independently administrate this manner. On the other hand, the factory should obey global transformation towards their production schemes such as Eco-friendly, Green-economy, and Sustainability concept in line with social, economic, and ecology sectors.

Abstract

Kadmium merupakan bahan beracun yang menyebabkan keracunan kronik pada manusia, maka tingkat maksimun yang diperbolehkan di perairan adalah 0,01 mg/L (PP No 82 Th 2001 Tentang Kualitas Air). Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mengidentifikasi gambaran umum kualitas air Sungai Kaligarang, (2) Mengidentifikasi konsentrasi logam berat Kadmium (Cd) di Sungai Kaligarang, serta (3) mengidentifikasi akumulasi logam berat Cd pada ikan wader merah (Puntius bramoides C.V) yang hidup di Sungai Kaligarang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasi eksploratif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan kandungan logam berat Cd pada air dan ikan wader merah di Sungai Kaligarang. Penentuan lokasi pengambilan sampel secara purposif sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa parameter lingkungan berupa Suhu, pH, BOD, DO di Sungai Kaligarang tidak melebihi baku mutu berdasarkan mutu air penggolongan kelas I. Parameter logam berat Cd dalam air tidak melebihi aturan yang ditetapkan PP Nomor 82 Th 2001 tentang Pengelolaan Kualitas Air dan Pengendalian Pencemaran Air. Kadar logam berat yang terkandung pada ikan wader merah masih berada di bawah baku mutu yang ditetapkan baik dari FDR New Zealand, FAO, Serta SNI. 7387.2009, Tentang Batas Maksimum Cemaran logam Berat Dalam Pangan.Cadmium is a toxic substance that causes chronic poisoning in humans and the maximum permissible level in the water is 0.01 mg / L. (Th Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001 on water quality). This study aimes to (1) identify general description of Kaligarang water quality, (2) heavy metalconcentrations of Cadmium (Cd ) in Kaligarang river and (3) identifying Cd accumulation of heavy metal in red Wader fish. This research is an observational exploration with a quantitative approach that aims to describe the level of heavy metal Cd in water and wader in Kaligarang. The location is determined by sampling study with purposive sampling. The result shows that the environmental parameters such as temperature, pH, BOD, DO of Kaligarang does not exceed the quality standard as applied by the classification of water quality class I. Parameter of heavy metals Cd in the water does not exceed the rules as set by the PP . No. 82 Th 2001 on management of water quality and red water pollution control. Heavy metal levelcontained in red wader is still below the quality standard as set by both FDR New Zealand, FAO, and SNI.7387.2009 about maximum level of heavy metal pollution in food.

Abstract

Similes and metaphors are two forms of figurative language which are very familiar in literary works.  One factor that arise some common problems faced by translators in translating simile and metaphor is the cultural difference between the source language and target language. Therefore, translators would apply certain strategies or procedures to find the equivalence of similes and metaphors in the target language.  In “Two Kinds” short story, it can be found that Amy Tan also uses several similes and metaphors.  For student translators in Literary Translation class, it is a challenge to translate similes and metaphors in “Two Kinds” into Indonesian. Thus, this research aims at describing how student translators of Literary Translation class deal with the translation of those similes and metaphors. Hopefully, this study would give worth contribution to the development of literary translation and particularly for student translators in translating any literary works. By comparing students’ translations and the source text, it is found that students mostly applied reproducing the same image in the TL procedure to translate similes and metaphors from English into Indonesian.

Abstract

ABSTRAKAlat pengukur tinggi badan dan penimbang berat badan yang sekaligus memberikan informasi berat badan ideal akan sangat bermanfaat bagi para pengguna. Oleh karena itu, dalam penelitian ini, dirancang dan direalisasikan suatu alat ukur yang sekaligus dapat mengukur tinggi badan dan berat badan serta memberikan informasi ideal atau tidaknya berat badan yang terukur. Alat ukur ini menggunakan Arduino Uno sebagai otaknya, sensor ultrasonik untuk mengukur tinggi badan, dan sensor strain gauge untuk mengukur berat badan. Data dari kedua sensor tersebut diolah oleh Arduino untuk mendapatkan indeks massa tubuh (IMT) dan berat badan ideal (BBI). Nilai tinggi badan, berat badan, dan berat badan ideal akan ditampilkan pada LCD. Selanjutnya, informasi suara menyangkut kondisi berat badan yaitu ideal, gemuk, atau kurus akan dikeluarkan oleh speaker. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian dan analisis data maka diperoleh nilai persentase keberhasilan rata-rata pada pengukuran tinggi badan adalah 96,80% dan pada pengukuran berat badan adalah 99,04%. Sedangkan tingkat keberhasilan penampilan informasi suara adalah 95%.Kata kunci: Alat ukur digital, tinggi badan, beratbadan, Arduino, output suara.ABSTRACTAn instument for measuring height and weight while providing information ideal weight for users will be very helpful. Therefore, in this study, it was designed and realized a measuring instrument which can simultaneously measure the height and weight as well as providing the ideal information whether or not the weight measured. This instrument uses an Arduino Uno as the brain, the ultrasonic sensor to measure the height and strain gauge sensor for measuring weight. Data from the sensors is processed by the Arduino to get a body mass index and ideal weight. The values of height, weight, and ideal weights will display on LCD. Furthermore, voice information regarding the ideal conditions of weight, namely ideal, fat, or thin will be emitted by a speaker. Based on test results and data analysis, obtained that values of the average percentage of success at the height measurement was 96.80% and the weight measurement was 99.04%,respectively.
