Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the micro teaching program implemented in the Primary Islamic Teacher Education (PGMI) Study Program using the Kirkpatrick evaluation model at the Reaction and Learning levels. The research employed a quantitative evaluation approach involving 21 students who had completed the micro teaching course. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire to measure students’ reactions and an observation rubric to assess teaching competencies. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean scores, percentages, and effectiveness categories. Unlike previous studies that primarily examined the influence of micro teaching on teaching competence, this study evaluates the effectiveness of the program systematically by integrating participants’ reactions and learning outcomes within the Kirkpatrick evaluation framework in the context of Islamic teacher education. The findings revealed that the micro teaching program achieved an effectiveness score of 78.98% at the Reaction level, indicating that students generally responded positively to the program, particularly regarding the quality of supervising lecturers and the relevance of the program to professional development. At the Learning level, the program achieved an effectiveness score of 83.51%, categorized as highly effective, demonstrating significant improvement in students’ teaching competencies. The highest achievements were found in reinforcement skills, instructional variation, classroom management, and lesson opening and closing skills. Overall, the findings indicate that the micro teaching program effectively supports the development of pedagogical competencies and prepares PGMI students to perform professional teaching practices.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Smart TV or Interactive Flat Panel Display (IFPD) integration program in the teaching and learning process at junior high schools in Palopo City. Using the Discrepancy Evaluation Model (DEM), the study examines the definition, installation, process, and product stages to identify discrepancies between established program standards and actual implementation in schools. This study employed an evaluative research approach based on the Discrepancy Evaluation Model. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, observations, and document analysis involving relevant school stakeholders and program implementation documents. The collected data were analyzed by comparing the expected standards of the program with actual conditions at each evaluation stage. The findings indicate that school readiness at the definition and installation stages was generally adequate, particularly regarding program planning and the availability of technological facilities. However, the instructional implementation remained suboptimal. Teachers had not fully integrated the IFPD into pedagogical practices, and several interactive features were not effectively utilized to support student engagement and learning activities. The Smart TV/IFPD integration program has established adequate technological readiness but has not yet achieved optimal instructional implementation. Targeted and continuous teacher training is required to strengthen digital pedagogical competence and improve the effective use of interactive technology in classroom instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the Al-Qur'an Reading and Writing Program (BTQ) implemented at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Manggarupi using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. This evaluation was conducted to determine the extent to which the BTQ program was able to improve students' Al-Qur'an literacy skills and the effectiveness of its implementation in the context of religious education at the madrasah. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with data collection through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Research informants included educators in charge of the program, teaching staff, students, and parents of students. The results of the evaluation on the context component showed that the BTQ program was a school initiative driven by the needs of students who still had low Al-Qur'an reading and writing skills and the support of the school's vision that emphasized religious values. In the input component, it was found that most of the teaching staff came from classroom educators with a background in religious education, but special BTQ training was still limited, and supporting facilities and infrastructure such as mushafs and digital learning media were still inadequate. The learning process runs according to schedule with various methods, but the constraints of time constraints and the large number of students affect the effectiveness of individual supervision and evaluation. The products of this program show significant improvement, with 70% of students being able to read the Qur'an properly and correctly according to basic tajwid rules and increasing positive religious attitudes. This study recommends strengthening teacher training, developing curriculum and learning methods, and improving facilities and infrastructure to support the sustainability and quality improvement of the BTQ program at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

The evaluation of teacher education and training programs is a crucial step in ensuring the quality of efforts to enhance educators’ competencies. One of the most widely used evaluation models in the context of training is the Kirkpatrick Model. This conceptual article aims to examine the relevance and applicability of the Kirkpatrick Model as a comprehensive framework for evaluating teacher training programs. The Kirkpatrick Model offers four interconnected levels of evaluation: reaction, learning, behavior, and results. Each level provides a different perspective on assessing program success, ranging from participant satisfaction to tangible impacts in the workplace. In the context of teacher training, this model can be used not only to measure participants’ cognitive and affective achievements but also to assess changes in teaching practices and contributions to improving the quality of education in schools. This article emphasizes that the use of the Kirkpatrick Model requires systematic evaluation planning, the collection of valid and reliable data, and the involvement of various stakeholders. Furthermore, this approach enables training organizers to objectively identify a program’s strengths and weaknesses, thereby providing a foundation for designing continuous improvements. Thus, the Kirkpatrick Model serves not only as a tool for measuring program success but also as a strategic instrument for decision-making and the formulation of more effective and impactful teacher training policies.
