Abstract

This developmental study aims to design an educational media tool with the named SAREHAT application as an effort to enhance students' comprehension of body health topics in fifth-grade elementary school, which is motivated by students' low comprehension of body health. This study employs the Research and Development (R&D) methodology with the ADDIE instructional design approach, which consists of the following stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research population includes 36 students and teachers from the fifth-grade class at SDN Tanjunglaya 02, as well as 2 teachers and 3 experts. Data was collected using techniques such as interviews, validation forms, student response questions, and comprehension tests. The results of the study prove that the SAREHAT application as an educational media is feasible and successful in improving students' comprehension of body health topics and has received positive responses from students. Thus, the SAREHAT application can raise students' consciousness of the importance of protecting body health, which can foster healthy lifestyle comportments from an early age.

Abstract

Indonesia faces ongoing challenges in literacy and numeracy skills, as highlighted by low PISA scores. This research aims to develop an innovative learning module that integrates Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) with augmented reality (AR) technology for primary school students. Utilizing a Research and Development (R&D) methodology, this study followed the 4D model. In the Define stage, a needs analysis through literature review and field study identified gaps in current IPAS learning and limited technology integration. The Design and Development stages focused on creating an IPAS module incorporating AR, validated by experts in science, social studies, and technology, which demonstrated its validity. During the dissemination stage, the module was tested for compatibility on various Android devices and was 100% successful in both installation and uninstallation. In addition, a feasibility test was conducted using a User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) with 24 students, showing very positive results, with scores of Attractiveness (2.63), Clarity (2.13), Efficiency (2.38), Accuracy (2.25), Stimulation (2.38), and Novelty (2.56). All scores were above the positive threshold (>0.8). These findings show that the integration of AR in the IPAS module not only increases student engagement but also supports literacy, numeracy, and independent learning

Abstract

Kekurangan kesempatan untuk melatih pemikiran kritis dalam proses pembelajaran menyebabkan siswa menghadapi berbagai kesulitan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh model problem based learning (PBL), dampaknya terhadap keterampilan pemikiran kritis siswa kelas V pada topik siklus air, serta perbandingan pemikiran kritis antara pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan pembelajaran konvensional. Metode quasi-eksperimental dengan desain kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen digunakan. Sampel terdiri dari siswa kelas V dari SDN 2 Rajapolah (29 siswa) dan SDN 6 Rajapolah (32 siswa), yang dipilih menggunakan sampling purposive. Alat ukur meliputi pedoman observasi dan tes esai. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis masalah diterapkan dengan sangat baik, dengan skor aktivitas guru dan siswa mencapai 83% pada pertemuan pertama dan 96% pada pertemuan kedua. Uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis masalah secara signifikan mempengaruhi keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa (sig. 2-tailed 0,000 < 0,05) dengan ukuran efek besar (1,284 > 0,8). Kemudian, keterampilan berpikir kritis pada model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan model pembelajaran konvensional menunjukkan perbedaan (sig. 2-tailed 0,000 < 0,05). Namun, berdasarkan nilai n-gain, pembelajaran berbasis masalah menghasilkan peningkatan yang lebih besar (0,3416) dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional (0,0772), menunjukkan efektivitas yang lebih tinggi.

Abstract

The development of interactive learning multimedia integrated with Augmented Reality is driven by the fact that technology-based learning media are not used enough in IPAS education, especially on abstract materials such as the changes in the earth's surface due to natural factors. This study aims to determine the development procedures, feasibility, effectiveness, and responses of teachers and students to interactive learning multimedia integrated with Augmented Reality on the material of changes in the earth's surface due to natural factors in fifth-grade elementary school. The research design uses a One Group Pretest-Posttest. The Research and Development study uses the ADDIE model, which has five steps: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The feasibility test method uses a questionnaire evaluated by expert validators in content and media. Data analysis techniques used include normality tests, hypothesis tests, and N-Gain tests. The effectiveness test of using interactive learning multimedia showed that in the normality test, the pretest result was sig 0.002 < 0.05 and the posttest result was sig < 0.001 < 0.05 (not normally distributed). The hypothesis test (Wilcoxon) yielded a sig (2-tailed) value of < 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. The results of the N-Gain test showed an average (mean) of 0.5708 (moderate criteria), and the N-Gain percentage was 57.0839% (fairly effective).

Abstract

Horseshoe seating formation is a student seating arrangement method designed to create optimal interaction and communication in the classroom and for the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method learning strategy as a means to achieve effective learning objectives. This study aims to determine the effect of horseshoe seating arrangement and the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method on the science learning motivation of fifth grade students at SDN Bunter 1. The type of research is quantitative with experimental research methods. The design used pretest-posttest control group design. The samples of this study were VA class students as control class and VB as experimental class with a total of 72 students. The research sample was determined using purposive sampling. Data analysis using SPSS software version 20.0 for windows. The results showed that the significance value for the seating arrangement was 0.00 <0.05 while the significance value for the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning method was 0.00 <0.05, this means that H0 is rejected Ha is accepted. The research conclusion shows that there is a positive influence of seating arrangement and Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning method on student learning motivation.

Abstract

Kurangnya variasi dan penggunaan teknologi di dalam kelas, yang berdampak pada rendahnya antusiasme dan keterlibatan peserta didik, adalah hal yang mendorong penelitian ini. Hal ini mengganggu kapasitas kognitif mereka dan membuat mereka lebih sulit untuk menyerap materi pelajaran. Hambatan lain dalam pengembangan media interaktif di sekolah dasar adalah kelangkaan sumber belajar. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan dan pengembangan media yang lebih interaktif diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif peserta didik dan mendorong mereka untuk belajar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi bagaimana pembelajaran diimplementasikan dengan menggunakan media interaktif ClassPoint, mengukur perbedaan kemampuan kognitif di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol setelah perlakuan, memeriksa respon peserta didik, dan memastikan bagaimana media ini berkontribusi terhadap perkembangan kognitif peserta didik kelas V SD. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi-eksperimen. Terdapat 28 murid di kelas eksperimen dan 28 murid lainnya di kelas kontrol untuk penelitian ini. Dengan nilai yang lebih tinggi di kedua kelas setelah treatmen, hasil penelitian menunjukkan keberhasilan pembelajaran ClassPoint. Dengan nilai gain score sebesar 0,64 (kategori sedang), penerapan materi ini membantu meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif. Menurut penelitian ini, peserta didik lebih terlibat, aktif, dan memperoleh keterampilan baru sambil memanfaatkan media berbasis teknologi untuk mengembangkan pemahaman kognitif yang lebih dalam tentang mata pelajaran.

Abstract

The limited integration of interactive and contextual digital learning materials in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) instruction at the elementary school level remains a considerable obstacle in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. A real-world-oriented learning approach is essential to foster students’ 21st-century competencies. This study aims to develop a STEM-integrated e-module on the water cycle topic for fifth-grade students in elementary schools. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) methodology using the ADDIE development model, which comprises five stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires. The product was validated by five experts, including two media experts and three content experts. The validation results indicated that the e-module achieved an average score of 96,65% from media experts and 94% from content experts, resulting in a combined score of 95,25%, which falls into the “highly valid” category. The practicality of the e-module was assessed through individual trials (n = 3; 100%), small-group trials (n = 24; 87%), and large-group trials (n = 27; 81,75%), with an overall average score of 88.6%, classified as “highly practical.” These findings confirm that the developed STEM-integrated e-module is both valid and practical, and thus appropriate to be implemented as a digital instructional material in IPAS learning on the water cycle topic at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an android-based SICERNA application as a learning medium to improve the conceptual understanding of fifth grade elementary school students on the human digestive system material. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of the study were 32 fifth grade students of SDN Genteng 1. Data collection instruments included interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The results of the media expert validation showed an average score of 90.7%, while the results of the material expert validation obtained a score of 93.5%, both of which are included in the very decent category. Students' responses to the SICERNA application using the System Usability Scale (SUS) instrument obtained a score of 91, which is included in the very good category. The test results showed that the average pretest score was 47.53, while the average posttest score increased to 75.78, and the results of the Paired Sample t-Test showed a significance value (Sig.) Of 0.000 <0.05, which means that there was an increase in students' conceptual understanding after using the learning application. Product effectiveness test through N-Gain test analysis showed an average score of 0.5816, which is in the moderate category, and effectiveness of 58.16%, which is included in the fairly effective category. Thus, the SICERNA application is declared feasible and effective to be used as a science learning media and can be considered as an effective solution to improve students' conceptual understanding of the human digestive system material.

Abstract

The background of this study is the low student learning outcomes caused by conventional learning, which tends to be monotonous and teacher-centered. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental research type and a pretest-posttest control group design. The study sample consisted of two groups: an experimental group treated with experimental learning, and a control group treated with conventional learning methods. Data analysis used normality and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests due to the non-normal distribution of the data. The results of this study indicate that there is a difference in cognitive ability improvement between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group using the experimental learning method obtained an average N-Gain score of 0.587 (moderate category), while the control group obtained an average score of 0.389 (moderate category). The results obtained were greater in the experimental group, indicating that the experimental method was more effective than conventional learning in improving students' cognitive abilities.

Abstract

This paper describes the developmental process of PETA (Penjelajahan Matematika)learning media based on the Android application on speed learning materials at a fifth-gradeelementary school, determines the feasibility of the application through the validation process ofexperts, and finds out the compatibility of applications in several devices with different Androidversions. The research uses a research and Development (RnD) method with the ADDIE model(Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results of the research are (1) thedevelopment of the PETA application is relevant to the needs of the mathematics learning process onspeed learning material at class V SD, (2) the design of the PETA application is adopted from theconcept of exploring games with various forms of presentation, (3) the PETA application design thathas been made is developed into file.apk., (4) the PETA application has the feasibility of the content inthe very feasible category with a percentage of 97%, the feasibility of the media in the very feasiblecategory with a percentage of 92.75%, and already fulfilled the standard of portability on adaptabilityand installability aspects with a testing percentage of 100%, and (5) the final product of the PETAapplication is developed based on the evaluation results at the testing stage of functional suitabilityand portability by making minor improvements to the instruction aspects of the use and the additionalmenu of an "additional information" to make it easier for users to get information about latest updatesof the PETA application.
