Abstract

This research developed and validated the Literacy and Numeracy Skill Development (LNSD) framework for integrating science and social studies (IPAS) instruction in elementary schools. Employing the 4D instructional design model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate), the study systematically addressed the absence of pedagogical frameworks combining IPAS content with explicit literacy and numeracy skill development. The Define phase revealed through literature analysis and teacher interviews that existing IPAS instruction lacked systematic literacy-numeracy integration. The Design phase produced an initial framework adapted from Willison's Research Skill Development model, comprising distinct literacy and numeracy components with associated instructional sub-stages. The Development phase engaged three subject matter experts who validated the framework using Content Validity Index methodology, resulting in consensus on ten instructional sub-stages: four literacy components (Morning Message, Let's Read, Let's Write, Let's Practice) and six numeracy components (Read, Let's Compare, Let's Observe, Let's Try, Let's Practice, Reflection). The Disseminate phase implemented the validated framework with 18 sixth-grade elementary students in Garut Regency, Indonesia. Pre-test and post-test assessments demonstrated moderate effectiveness, with average scores increasing from 46.53 to 82.64 (gain = 36.1, N-Gain = 0.66). These findings confirm the framework's validity and effectiveness in simultaneously developing content understanding and foundational competencies, offering educators a systematic approach for integrated elementary instruction that addresses twenty-first-century learning demands.

Abstract

The development of interactive learning multimedia integrated with Augmented Reality is driven by the fact that technology-based learning media are not used enough in IPAS education, especially on abstract materials such as the changes in the earth's surface due to natural factors. This study aims to determine the development procedures, feasibility, effectiveness, and responses of teachers and students to interactive learning multimedia integrated with Augmented Reality on the material of changes in the earth's surface due to natural factors in fifth-grade elementary school. The research design uses a One Group Pretest-Posttest. The Research and Development study uses the ADDIE model, which has five steps: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The feasibility test method uses a questionnaire evaluated by expert validators in content and media. Data analysis techniques used include normality tests, hypothesis tests, and N-Gain tests. The effectiveness test of using interactive learning multimedia showed that in the normality test, the pretest result was sig 0.002 < 0.05 and the posttest result was sig < 0.001 < 0.05 (not normally distributed). The hypothesis test (Wilcoxon) yielded a sig (2-tailed) value of < 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. The results of the N-Gain test showed an average (mean) of 0.5708 (moderate criteria), and the N-Gain percentage was 57.0839% (fairly effective).

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive learning media using the Classpoint application to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-graders in science lessons in elementary schools. The study employed a research and development (R&D) method with a 4D model. The resulting product is a media that can be used by both teachers and students, which contains various features, ranging from material to quizzes to train students' knowledge abilities. This media is run by teachers using laptops/computers and students can use it using their mobile phones without the need to download an application. The research design used is a non-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design by comparing learning outcomes before (pretest) and after using the Classpoint-assisted interactive learning media (posttest). The Classpoint-assisted interactive learning media has been validated by media experts with a percentage of 87.5%, material experts with 97.2%, and language experts with 95%, with an overall average of 91.5% and a category of "very feasible". From the results of the N-Gain calculation, a significant increase was obtained with an average N-Gain of 0.67 which is in the "moderate" category. Thus, it can be concluded that the Classpoint-assisted interactive learning media is effective in improving learning outcomes, especially for the Food Chain material for fifth-graders in elementary schools.

Abstract

Kurangnya motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran menyebabkan hasil belajar pada ranah kognitif cenderung rendah, salah satunya disebabkan oleh penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang kurang bervariasi. Oleh karena itu, metode hypnoteaching diperlukan untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan pengetahuan kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini mengkaji tiga rumusan masalah: keterlaksanaan metode hypnoteaching dalam materi organ pernapasan pada manusia di kelas 5 SDIT Al-Fathir, pengaruh motivasi belajar siswa setelah metode hypnoteaching diterapkan, dan efektivitas metode ini dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan kognitif siswa. Penelitian menggunakan desain pre-eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) pembelajaran dengan metode hypnoteaching terlaksana dengan baik dengan persentase keterlaksanaan 100%, 2) motivasi belajar meningkat sebesar 13% dan berpengaruh sebesar 21%, 3) metode hypnoteaching tidak efektif ditandai dengan skor persentase n-gain sebesar 21%, meskipun mampu meningkatkan skor pengetahuan kognitif siswa. Metode hypnoteaching memiliki pengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa, namun terbukti tidak efektif meskipun mampu meningkatkan nilai pengetahuan kognitif siswa.

Abstract

Horseshoe seating formation is a student seating arrangement method designed to create optimal interaction and communication in the classroom and for the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method learning strategy as a means to achieve effective learning objectives. This study aims to determine the effect of horseshoe seating arrangement and the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method on the science learning motivation of fifth grade students at SDN Bunter 1. The type of research is quantitative with experimental research methods. The design used pretest-posttest control group design. The samples of this study were VA class students as control class and VB as experimental class with a total of 72 students. The research sample was determined using purposive sampling. Data analysis using SPSS software version 20.0 for windows. The results showed that the significance value for the seating arrangement was 0.00 <0.05 while the significance value for the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning method was 0.00 <0.05, this means that H0 is rejected Ha is accepted. The research conclusion shows that there is a positive influence of seating arrangement and Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning method on student learning motivation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh Metode Pembelajaran STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi gaya di tingkat Sekolah Dasar. Metode Pembelajaran STEM diintegrasikan dengan kurikulum tradisional untuk menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih holistik dan interaktif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen kontrol kelompok, melibatkan satu kelompok kelas yang menerapkan Metode Pembelajaran STEM dan satu kelompok kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Data hasil belajar siswa akan dikumpulkan melalui tes sebelum dan setelah diberikan perlakuan pada tiap kelasnya. Selanjutnya, Analisis data akan dilakukan untuk membandingkan pencapaian hasil belajar antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Selain itu, Diharapkan bahwa hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan kontribusi penting terhadap pemahaman mengenai pengaruh pembelajaran STEM dalam konteks pembelajaran IPAS pada materi gaya di Sekolah dasar. Implikasi penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar untuk pengembangan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif dan efektif di masa depan.

Abstract

The use of Learning Media-Based Augmented Reality (AR) to Improving Integrated Science And Social Studies Literacy. This study aimed to explore the use of learning media-based Augmented Reality to enhance integrated science and social studies literacy in primary school. AR-based learning media was integrated into the IPAS subject. The participants in this study were 48 fifth-grade students from elementary schools, divided into experimental (24 students) and control groups (24 students). Each class employed a cooperative learning approach, with students in the experimental groups engaged in using AR-based learning media to support their learning process. The research method used was non-equivalent pretest-posttest design. The instruments used to test literacy skills (both pretest and posttest) consisted of 5 items. The results indicate a significant difference in the enhancement of students’ literacy skills in the experimental groups compared to the control group. Abstract

Development of Canva-Based "PANDERA" Learning Media to Enhance Elementary Students’ Understanding of the Five Human Senses. The topic of human senses is a crucial component of the fifth-grade elementary school curriculum. However, due to its abstract nature, it can be challenging for students to grasp. The use of technology in education has brought significant changes in the way of teaching and learning. Therefore, innovative learning media are essential to enhance students' understanding and make the material more accessible. Objectives: This study aims to validate and evaluate the PANDERA learning media, or the Canva-based Human Senses application, designed for fifth-grade elementary school students. Methods: This study employs a research and development (R&D) approach, utilizing the ASSURE model, which consists of six stages: Analyze Learners, State Objectives, Select Methods, Media, or Materials, Utilize Media and Materials, Require Learner Participation, and Evaluate. Findings: The expert validation results in the form of assessments of aspects of material, design, content and learning obtained an average score of 4.7, based on the ≥ 4 category, the PANDERA learning media was classified as feasible (valid). Meanwhile, the implementation results for fifth-grade students showed an average pretest score of 48.57 and a posttest score of 84. Statistical analysis results of the paired sample t-test, the Sig. (p-value) was found to be 0.01, which is Sig. (p-value) < 0.05. This indicates a significant difference before and after using the PANDERA learning media. Conclusion: Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the PANDERA learning media, developed using the Canva application for the human senses topic, is effective and can be used to enhance the understanding of fifth-grade elementary school students. Keywords: learning media, canva application, five human senses.

Abstract

Keterampilan membaca merupakan suatu keterampilan seseorang menangkap ide dan gagasan melalui kata dan kalimat dalam bentuk tulisan. Permasalahan yang dialami oleh peserta didik kelas V yaitu keterbatasan pemahaman kosakata yang sulit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran membaca dalam hubungannya dengan keterampilan menulis karangan fiksi. Media yang dikembangkan dinamai perpustakaan digital cerita fabel (PDCF). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Design and Development (D&D). Peneliti mengembangkan media PDCF dan peneliti menemukan peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik dalam menulis karangan cerita fiksi. Hasil wawancara dengan narasumber guru kelas menunjukkan bahwa media perpustakaan digital cerita fabel 97,14% layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar. Media ini memberikan kesempatan kepada peserta didik untuk mengenal dan memperkaya kosakata baru beserta maknanya. Peneliti menguatkan teori bahwa semakin banyak peserta didik membaca, semakin kaya pengalamannya untuk dituangkan dalam tulisan atau cerita. Sekalipun efek media membaca tidak selamanya langsung mempengaruhi keterampilan menulis, namun bahan bacaan bagi peserta didik akan mendorong peningkatan menulis dan memperkaya wawasannya. Abstract

Pendidikan harus fokus pada pemahaman berbagai konsep dan keahlian yang diperlukan siswa agar dapat menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21. Pemahaman konseptual dan keterampilan kolaboratif siswa siswa belum maksimal. Hal tersebut dikarenakan pemilihan model pembelajaran yang biasanya didominasi oleh guru, isi kurikulum cenderung tidak kontekstual, tujuan pembelajarn jarang dirumuskan pada pemahaman yang mendalam, tidak adanya kerja sama tim dalam menyelesaikan tugas kelompok, melimpahkan tanggung jawab pada satu anggota kelompok, dan lain sebagainya. Studi ini dilakukan untuk melihat bagaimana model pembelajaran RADEC memengaruhi pemahaman konseptual dan keterampilan kolaboratif siswa kelas lima dengan materi bencana alam. SD Negeri Tanjungsari II menjadi lokasi penelitian ini. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 33 siswa dari kelompok eksperimen dan 32 siswa dari kelompok kontrol. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi-experimental research pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes uraian pemahaman konseptual dan lembar observasi keterampilan kolaborasi. Uji Mann-Whitney memperlihatkan adanya perbedaan peningkatan dalam pemahaman konseptual yang signifikan antara kedua kelas. sebagai nilai signifikansi (two-tailed) data N-Gain 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05. Siswa di kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran RADEC memiliki keterampilan kolaborasi yang secara signifikan lebih rendah daripada siswa di kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional, menurut hasil uji Mann-Whitney. Nilai asymp. sig. (two-tailed) untuk hubungan antara kemampuan kolaborasi siswa adalah 0,000 kurang dari 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, model pembelajaran RADEC dapat mempengaruhi pemahaman konsep dan kolaborasi siswa.
