Abstract

 "Karya Putra Mandiri" Livestock Farmer Group and "Makmur Sentosa" Livestock Group, Kec. Rejotangan Kab. Tulungagung is a foster partner of the Unair FKH Community Service Team. A common problem for breeders and administrators of the "Karya Putra Mandiri" Livestock Farmer Group and "Makmur Sentosa" Livestock Group, Kec. Rejotangan Kab. Tulungagung is a problem in production, among others are reproductive disorders, low pregnancy rates, low productivity in their dairy goats. The solution offered is to increase the skills and knowledge of dairy goat farmers in the "Karya Putra Mandiri" and "Makmur Sentosa" livestock groups on how to handle reproductive cases through synchronization of lust. Another problem is the "Karya Putra Mandiri" Livestock Farmer Group and the "Makmur Sentosa" Livestock Group, Kec. Rejotangan Kab. Tulungagung is a management problem. The solution offered is to increase the knowledge and assistance of dairy goat farmers in the “Karya Putra Mandiri” and “Makmur Sentosa” livestock groups in dairy goat milk processing, packaging and product licensing. The method used in the implementation of this community service activity is by; (1) Development and training stage; (2) Monitoring and evaluation stage. To evaluate the level of knowledge and understanding of the material given, pretest and posttest are given. This Community Service program activity was carried out from March to October 2018. Extension activities and training on Laserpuncture and Sexual Synchronization Technology were carried out using the tutorial method, then continued with discussions. The implementation of this Community Service Activity requires a budget of 30 million rupiah which is planned to be used in several posts including for equipment, consumables, travel, accommodation, and others.

Abstract

Background: Making silage added with additives can improve the quality of silage nutrition and speed up the fermentation process. Molasses are widely used by farmers as additives for making silage. The use of molasses can be replaced with Fermented Mother Liquor (FML) in making silage. Purpose: to determine the effect of molasses addition on physical and chemical quality of corn plant silage given Fermented Mother Liquor (FML). Method: Observative data collection by making direct observations on making silage with two treatments consist of P0 (Corn Plant + 2% Fermented Mother Liquor (FML)) and P1 (Corn Plant + 2% Fermented Mother Liquor (FML) + 2% Molasses). The silage storage time was one week and on the seventh day observations were made on the physical and chemical quality of silage in each treatment. Result: The corn plant silage given fermented mother liquor (FML) without the addition of molasses produced better physical and chemical quality compared to corn plant silage given Fermented Mother Liquor (FML) with the addition of molasses. Conclusion: the corn plant silage given Fermented Mother Liquor (FML) only had better physical and chemical quality

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know whether pineapple peel juice can be used as an ovicidal of in vitro A galli. This study used eggs of A. galli worms obtained by collecting adult A. galli worms from the small intestines of fresh local chickens purchased from traditional markets in Surabaya. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments , the concentration of pineapple peel juice was 0% (Control), 5%, 10%, and 20%. Each treatment consisted of six replications, with observations on days 5, 10, 15 and 20. Developed eggs were identified with the presence of larvae within egg and the movement of larvae. The data obtained will be analyzed with the ANOVA Statistical Test with the SPSS device and then followed by the Duncan test. The results of statistical analysis showed that pineapple peel juice had a significant effect on the development of A. galli worm eggs In Vitro. The number of damaged A.galli eggs increased as they were given higher pineapple juice concentration. This proves that pineapple peel juice has higher anthelmintic effect with increasing concentration given. Pineapple peel juice 20% is the best juice concentration.

Abstract

Menengok sejarah bahwa Kemerdekaan adalah anugerah dari Tuhan Yang Maha Esa untuk meraihnya melalui rangkaian perjuangan panjang. Usaha pahlawan tidak akan pernah sia-sia selama kita terus mengharumkan dan memajukan Indonesia. Ibu bangsa yang dimaksud yakni para perempuan yang mendidik, merawat generasi penerus masa depan bangsa di lingkungan keluarga maupun lingkungan masyarakat. Ibu bangsa mempunyai tugas mulia mempersiapkan generasi yang kreatif , inovatif , unggul , memiliki wawasan kebangsaan yang militan  dan berdaya saing pada revolusi industry 4.0. Era sekarang, ibu bangsa masa kini tidak hanya membina keluarga tapi juga berkiprah di masyarakat. Edible Flower merupakan jenis bunga yang dapat dimakan dalam keadaan segar. Penyajian bunga edible untuk dikonsumsi ada beragam jenis seperti disajikan dalam bentuk salad, hidangan tunggal, dan pula disajikan dalam bentuk hidangan pendukung makanan utama. Peserta dalam talkshow ini termotivasi untuk memaknai momentum Hari Ulang Tahun  kemerdekaan RI ke 77 tahun. Tujuan dari Talkshow ini adalah untuk memberi pengetahuan kepada ibu-ibu Dharmawanita Persatuan Fakultas Vokasi Universitas Airlangga agar terinspirasi membuat makanan dan minuman dari kebun sendiri serta menanam bunga yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan makanan dan minuman, yang berfungsi sebagai penambah cita rasa, pemberi warna, garnish, sebagai bagian yang bisa dimakan atau dikonsumsi, maupun meningkatkan kesehatan. Setelah mengikuti kagiatan ini ibu-ibu peserta talkshow mengetahui beberapa resep dari bunga yang dapat dimasak di rumah, memanfaatkan bunga yang dapat tumbuh dipekarangan rumah.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of administration robusta coffee extract as an antioxidant on the renal histopathology in mice exposed to monosodium glutamate (MSG) orally. This study used 20 adult male rats with Balb C strain divided into 5 experimental groups, namely K + (MSG 0.12 mg / head and Vitamin C 6 mg/mice), K- (MSG 0.12 mg/mice and Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC Na) 0,1 ml/mice), P1 (MSG 0.12 mg/mice and Robusta coffee extract 0.1 mg/mice), P2 (MSG 0.12 mg/mice and Robusta coffee extract 0.2 mg/mice), and P3 (MSG 0.12 mg/mice and 0.4 mg Robusta coffee extract mg/mice). The experimental group was treated every day at intervals between MSG and Vitamin C, CMC Na, and Robusta coffee extract for 60 min, the treatment was carried out for 42 days. Kidney histopathology scores were analyzed using the Saphiro-Wilk and Levene test to evaluate homogeneity, followed by the Kruskal Wallis test. The results of the Saphiro Wilk and Levene statistical analysis obtained p<0.05, thus the data continued with the Kruskal Wallis test scores of kidney cell damage obtained 0.043 which showed that the data were significant. The mean score of kidney cell damage in the treatment groups was K+ 1.60; K- 1.63; P1 1.70; P2 1.63; and P3 1.73. The conclusion is that Robusta coffee bean extract did not show a decrease in kidney cell damage that was different between treatment groups. Further research is needed to find out about the effect of different dosages of Robusta Coffee Extract to different organs

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of methanol robusta coffee bean extract (Coffea canephora) on liver histopathological description in mice induced with monosodium glutamate (MSG). This study was used 20 male mice for 5 treatment groups: K + (MSG 0.12 mg and Vitamin C 6 mg), K- (MSG 0.12 mg and CMC Na 0.1 ml), P1 (MSG 0.12 mg and RCE 0.1 mg), P2 (MSG 0.12 mg and RCE 0.2 mg), and P3 (MSG 0.12 mg and RCE 0.4 mg) per orally for 42 days. Liver histological scores were analyzed using Kruskal Wallis test. The results of Kruskal Wallis test scored p=0,391 which indicates that the data is not significant (p>0.05). In the control and treatment groups there were no significant. In conclusion, the giving methanol robusta coffee bean extract did not show a decrease in hepatosite damage that was different from the negative control treatment group.

Abstract

Anxiety disorder is one of the important public health problems. This study aimed to find out whether patchouli (Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth.) essential oil (PEO) has an anxiolytic-like effect in mice. A total of 20 mice were divided into five treatment groups i.e. (C1) was treated with 1 mg/kg of saline intraperitoneally; (C2) was treated with 1 mg/kg of diazepam intraperitoneally; (T1) 1% PEO inhalation, (T2) 2.5% PEO inhalation, and (T3) 5% PEO inhalation. All experimental animals were put in the Elevated Plus-Maze (EPM), observed for five minutes, and investigated the following parameters i.e. the total number of squares that are transverse in the open arms (STO), the number of visits to the open arms (VOA), the number of visits to the closed arms (VCA), the time spent in the open arms (TOA), and the time spent in the closed arms (TCA). In results, T1 and T2 groups had a minor impact on the VOA. T1 group also had little effect on TOA. Closed-arm activities (VCA and TCA) were unaffected by any of the treatments. The conclusion was revealed that T1 or less of PEO inhalation can potentially provide anxiolytic-like effects in mice.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to explore the hematological value of leopard gecko (Eublepharis macularius). Total of 20 samples were examined, its consists of 10 males and 10 females, blood samples were taken from vena ventral abdominal and deposited into EDTA tubes, fresh blood leaves little to make blood smear, total blood examination conducted with automatic hematological analyzer ABX MICROS 60 and for total leukocyte and differential leukocyte count used standard manual method. The mean result of hematological value of leopard gecko in this research are WBC (x103/mm3) 7,12 male, 8,09 female, Lymphocyte (%) 46,2 male, 38,4 female, Monocyte (%) 17 male, 17,3 female, Heterophil (%) 18,3 male, 21,8 female, Eosinophil (%) 10,8 male, 13,9 female, Basofil (%) 7,7 male, 8,6 female, RBC (106/mm3) 0,64 male, 0,65 female, HGB (g/dl) 8,95 male, 9,46 female, Hematocrit (%) 10,55 male and 9,26 female. In all parameters showed that hematology value of male gecko leopard was lower than female gecko except on two parameters which are hematocrit and lymphocyte which showed male gecko has the higher value than females, but the hematology value difference of both sexes leopard gecko is not significant except in heterophil value.

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of polypropylene residue on heated palm oil against histopathological changes of small intestine on male white rat (Rattus norvegicus) wistar strain. Eighteen male white rats divided into three groups and were administered via peroral gavage with different treatments for five weeks. The treatment were Control (84 grams palm oil), P1 (84 grams palm oil with 2.3 grams plastic), and P2 (84 grams palm oil with 6.81 grams plastic). The histopathological changes of small intestine were examined by using Barthel Scoring method was analysed using Kruskal Wallis and continued with Mann-Whitney test. The result showed that were significant difference (p<0.05) between treatment groups. The worse damage of polypropylene plastic residue was 6.81 grams.

Abstract

This research was conducted to observe the effect of polypropylene plastic residue on heated palm oil against the histopathological changes on rat's kidney. There were 18 male rats (Rattus norvegicus) that used as the examination animal and were divided into three groups and were given the mixture of heated palm oil and polypropylene plastic per oral with intubation needle. The treatment was done for five weeks. The treatment for P0 group was 84 g of palm oil, for P1 was 84 g of palm oil with 2.3 g of plastic, and for the P2 was 84 g of palm oil with 6.8 g of plastic. The histopathological changes of the kidney were observed using microscope with 400x magnification and the data was analysed using Kruskal-Wallis and continued with Mann Whitney U test. The result showed that there were significant differences between three groups of treatment (P<0.05). There were effects of polypropylene plastic residue on heated palm oil against the histopathological changes of kidney in this research such as cast, epithelial sloughing and necrosis in the mild scale.
