Abstract

Equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) like folligon is a gonadotropin hormon derived from blood sera inpregnant mare 30 till 140 days. The repeated use of eCG treatments for the induction of ovulation is generallyfollowed can decrease in fertility. Bovine anti-eCG antibodies (Abs) as research result in UniversitasAirlangga in 2019 can solve the problem of decrease in fertility in does. The objective of this study was toevaluate the reproductive performance of subjected to a short-term protocol for estrus induction using 50mg of vaginal sponges’ progesterone. The experimental animal used in this study comprised of 30 etawaCrossbred goats, with normal estrus cycle and 3 years old of age. The etawa crossbred goat are all healthywith a body score of at least three. 30 goats divided become 3 groups Group I as (T0) 10 goats are as controlsGroups. (T0) was inserted sponge progesterone 50 mg of MPA and injected with PGF2? 7.5 mg in day 10intramuscular (im) when T0 removal of the sponge were removed on day 11. Does on day 11 as T1 going onthe removal of devices 24 h before removal inject 7.5 mg of PGF2? and 300 IU of eCG. T2 were injected inall the goats 7.5 mg of PGF2?, 300 IU of eCG at day 10 and 300 IU bovine anti eCG inject at day 11 whenremoval device on day 11. After 35 days, pregnancy was diagnosed by ultrasound scanning. Short-termprotocols using either an intravaginal device was similarly effective to estrus induction 100% p >0.05, andall goats from both groups had estrus manifestation within 30 h after device removal, duration of estrus 37h and doing AI. In addition, no significant difference in pregnancy p >0.05 on 35 days.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find a method of determining laser models and intra vaginal progesteronesponge in Bali Cattle. An assessment was carried out at Sapi Loka Grati, Pasuruan, Indonesia. The parametersobserved included the symptoms of estrus, response of estrus, and the level of pregnancy. Twenty Balinesecows were divided at random in two groups. P1 treated with laser puncture at a certain point and P2 treatedwith 1.5 g of progesterone + 10 mg of estradiol benzoate intra vaginal sponge. The diagnosis of subsequentpregnancies was done by ultrasonographic examination on day 40th after artificial insemination (AI). Thelaser used in this study was a soft laser with power supply specifications as follows: 50 Hz, 220 Volts, 50Watts, ranging from 0.2 Joules to 0.5 Joules. These lasers include semiconductor lasers and laser probes.Three acupuncture points were used (GV 4, BL-22, and GV-2). Furthermore, the intra vaginal progesteronesponge used was made from silicone plastic similar to the drugs containing medroxyprogesterone acetate.Data testing was done by using the T-test. Results demonstrated that the P1 responses of estrus appeared onday 3rd, while P2 on day 9th. There was no significant difference (p >0.05) in the accumulation of estrus andpregnancy. In conclusion, estrus synchronization and pregnancy rate could be efficiently achieved in Balicattle using either laser puncture or intra vaginal progesterone sponge. However, laser puncture treatmentinduced more spread estrus with higher pregnancy rate.

Abstract

Repeat breeding is a syndrome which affected the reproduction and production efficacy of dairy cattle. Dairy cow is one of an animals which produce milk. This syndrome may cause high economic losses in dairy cattle farm. This research was conducted from February to March 2023. The aim of this research was to determine the correlation of body condition score and parity of repeat breeding on the dairy cow at Tani Wilis Cooperation, Sendang, Tulungagung. A total of 46 dairy cows that contributed to the repeat breeding were used in this study. Sampling was done by purposive sampling with the following condition the date AI and the date of parturition. This research was conducted in a survei with primary and secondary data collection. Primary data retrieval is done by interviewing farmers, body condition score of each dairy cow, and direct observation. As for the secondary data obtained by recording the card Artificial Insemination (AI) owned by inseminator. Data were analyzed using correlate statistics followed by Spearmann Test. The result of the research indicated that no significant difference (P>0,05) in body condition score and parity.

Abstract

Trematode worm infections in dairy cattle have not been widely reported in various regions in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the prevalence and degree of trematode worm infection in Friesian Holstein dairy cattle at KUTT Suka Makmur, Pasuruan. The research design used survey study and cross-sectional study. The study was conducted in July-September 2023. The number of samples taken was 100, which were selected from proportional random sampling of four sub-districts, namely Grati, Nguling, Lekok, and Lumbang, with the age ranges under a year, 1-2 years, and above 2 years. The sample were examined using the sedimentation method and Flukenfinder® method. Positive samples were further examined using the McMaster method to determine the number of worm eggs per gram of feces. The results of this study obtained a prevalence of 54% with low and moderate degrees of infection. The trematode worm species found through fecal examination were Fasciola gigantica and Paramphistomum cervi. The results of chi square statistical analysis showed that sample examination method and age were related to the prevalence of trematode worms, yet location was not related to the prevalence of trematode worms. The results of kruskal wallis statistical analysis showed that age and location influence the degree of trematode worm infection.
