Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui derajat keasaman air tanah di daerah Kelurahan Sukmajaya, Depok. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lebih lanjut dari yang sudah ada dan menjadi perhatian karena berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya di Kelurahan Cilodong yang terletak di sebelah Barat memiliki derajat keasaman di bawah standar di hampir seluruh lokasi pengamatan yang diamati. Metoda penelitian yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah dengan menganilisi pH air tanah sejumlah 8 buah yang tersebar di Kelurahan Sukmajaya yang dibawa oleh peserta pada saat melakukan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat di Kantor Kelurahan Sukmajaya, Depok. Dari hasil PkM dengan menggunakan alat indikator sederhana diketahui bahwa seluruh air yang dibawa oleh warga ternyata juga memiliki derajat pH di bawah standar (asam). Selanjutnya sejumlah 8 sampel dilakukan uji laboratorium dan berdasarkan hasil uji tersebut diketahui hasilnya yaitu 8 sampel memiliki kualitas air tanah di bawah standar, yaitu 8 sampel memiliki pH asam, berkisar antara 4,3 sampai 5,8 dengan nilai rata-rata 4, 68; dan 2 sampel memiliki kadar Mangan di atas standar. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut maka dapat diketahui bahwa di Kelurahan Sukmajaya memiliki derajat keasaman yang tidak memenuhi standar seperti di Kecamatan Cilodong yang terletak di selatannya. Dari hasil ini diinterpretasikan bahwa nilai pH meningkat dari Selatan ke utara, sehingga secara umum diperkirakan kontaminasi menurun ke arah Utara

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dalam mengenal warna melalui metode eksperimen pada anak usia 3-4 tahun di KB Pertiwi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilakukan secara kolaboratif antara peneliti dengan guru kelas. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua siklus dan setiap siklusnya dilaksanakan 3 kali pertemuan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 15 anak di KB Pertiwi yang terdiri dari 7 anak laki-laki dan 8 anak perempuan. Objek penelitian adalah kemampuan kognitif dalam mengenal warna. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan dokumentasi. Instrument yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi (check list) dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dalam mengenal warna. Hasil observasi pada pra tindakan menunjukkan bahwa anak yang berkriteria berkembang sesuai harapan ada 2 orang atau 13%. Pada siklus 1 meningkat menjadi 4 orang atau 27% dan siklus 2 meningkat lagi menjadi 10 anak atau 66,7%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui metode eksperimen dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dalam mengenal warna pada anak usia 3-4 tahun di KB Pertiwi.

Abstract

Gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah di PAUD Sekecamatan Kelam Tengah bervariasi sehingga menyebabkan motivasi kerja guru sangat rendah dalam menjalankan tugas sebagai pendidik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap motivasi kerja guru di PAUD Se-Kecamatan Kelam Tengah. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode kuantitatif  dengan pendekatan korelasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru PAUD di Kecamatan Kelam Tengah. sampel yang digunakan adalah sampel total sebanyak 21 guru. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Analisis data menggunakan rumus pearson correlation. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: Uji hepotesis gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah pada asfek orientasi tugas memiliki hubungan yang signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja guru dengan nilai P = (0,007 < 0,05) dan r hitung 0,574> r tabel (0,396) dan untuk hepotesis gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah pada asfek orientasi orang memiliki hubungan yang signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja guru dengan nilai P = (0,020< 0,05) dan r hitung (0,504> r tabel (0,396). Dari hasil penelitian ini disarankan kepada kepala sekolah agar menggunakan gaya kepemimpinan yang dapat membangkitkan motivasi kerja guru.Kata Kunci: gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, motivasi kerja guru.

Abstract

There is still debate among academics about the activities and operations of universities and whether they can be equated with business entities. This study analyzes the relationship between student resource factors and university value co-creation activities. Several variables in this research have never been studied in the context of higher education services. This research employs a quantitative approach and involves the participation of 398 students from various universities in Makassar, Indonesia. Data is processed and analyzed using Smart-PLS software. The results showed that student resources, such as student self-efficacy, student education, and student expertise, positively and significantly influenced value co-creation activities in the university environment. The creation of university values must create a positive environment to attract future pupils.

Abstract

This research concerns on improving students™ achievement in speaking by using short movie media. The objective was to find out the improvement of students™ achievement in speaking. This research was conducted by using action research method. The subject of the research was XI IPA-1 students of SMA Negeri 8 Medan. The numbers of students were sixteen students. They were taught speaking by using short movie media. The instruments used were diary notes, interview sheets, and observation sheets. In analyzing data, the mean of students™ score for the first competency test was 42,5 for the second competency test was 61,25 and for the third competency test was 85 and the total percentage of improvement from the first competency test to the third competency test was 68,75%. The conclusion is that students™ achievement in speaking can be improved by using short movie media. It is suggested that teachers should apply short movie media as one of media to improve students™ speaking achievement.   Key Words: Students™ achievement, Speaking, Short Movie Media

Abstract

This research was aimed to develop video as the teaching media of writing descriptive text for grade VIII students in SMP Brigjend.Katamso I Medan. This study was categorized as Research and Development (R & D) study which adapted from Borg and Gall (2003). The method through six phases: conducting need analysis, designing, developing, experts validating, revising, and final product. The subjects of this research were 40 students of grade eighth of SMP Brigjend. Katamso I Medan which was located in Jl. Sunggal No. 370 Medan. The data and data resources were the teacher™s lesson plan, teacher™s interview, and students™ questionnaires result. After getting the last data, the media should be planned to be designed as the students™ needs. The media were developed and had been validated by the experts. The percentages of the media from the experts were 90% that categorized as very good. It can be concluded that video as one of the creative media to improve the students™ ability in writing descriptive texts.Key words: Research and development (R&D),Descriptive Text, Video, Writing, Junior High School.

Abstract

Nowadays, English become a language that can give a significant impact in many aspects such as education and communication. Therefore people are demanded to master in language including students. For example researcher finding at class x of SMAN 6 Medan student have low competence in writing skill. This study aimed to Develop English Writing Material Using EGRA Technique of Descriptive Text for Grade X. The subject of this research was students™ grade X MIA 2 of SMAN 6 Medan consists of 34 students. Tomlinso (1990) state the EGRA is an effective technique to teach grammar in writing sentence. The letter standing for Exposure, Generalization, Reinforcement, and Application. This research used the model of Research and Development (R&D)of Brog and Gall (2003) has six stages: there are (1) Gathering information, (2) Analyzing data, (3) Designing new writing material using EGRA, (4) Evaluating or validating new writing material by experts, (5) Revising, (6) Final product. The instruments of data collection were syllabus, questioner and interview. The data was gathered by administering interview to the teacher and distributing questioner to the students. The first design writing material of this research consists of three units: œhi iam arief (describing people), œMount Lesuer National Park (describing place), œWater Castle (describing bulding). The score of validating from expert there are: (1) English lecture, the score of content is 25, score of language is 12, score of presentation is 27,and score of graphic is 9  and the average of score material assessment were 3,17 in categorize good. (2) English teacher English lecture, the score of content is 26, score of language is 12, score of presentation is 25,and score of graphic is 12  and the average of score material assessment were 3,26 in categorize very good. Based on the result of the validation of the experts, there are two aspects that needed to revised such as to revise some grammatical mistakes and unclear the exercise. The final product of writing material consists of three units: œhi I am arief (describing people), œMount Lesuer National Park (describing place), œWater Castle (describing building). In each unit have four sections provided there are Exposure, Training, Grammar and WritingKey words: writing skill, EGRA  technique, Research and Development (R&D)

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to analyze the Use of Songs in Learning English to the Students of the Fifth Grade in SD 1 Muhammadiyah Binjai. This study would be a descriptive study, which analyze the use of English to teach English in SD Muhammadiyah 1 Binjai. This study would be conducted by using Descriptive Qualitative Design. Descriptive Qualitative Design was just like other types of qualitative research, these inquiries typically are efforts to understand poorly understood phenomena that do not lend themselves readily to quantification. The song is used in two ways in the teaching of English to the elementary students. In the first way, the teacher organize the procedure of using the song into five steps, they are (1) listening to the song, (2) singing the song, (3) asking the students to sing it in front of the class, (4) discussing about the song, (5) the teacher give the task to the students. Besides that, only three out of the nine reasons that teacher take into consideration in explaining why the teacher taught English by using song the way she did. The three reasons are (1) song is a means of teaching pronunciation, (2) teaching vocabulary, (3) making fun teaching situation.Keywords : Songs, Media, Teaching English, Teacher

Abstract

Digital worksheet, as the one of learning tools that is used to involve the students to works actively during teaching and learning process, should be developed based on students™ need. Digital worksheet in listening skill with scientific approach has not applied. A good digital worksheet must be fulfilled criteria of valid, practical and effective. The aim of this study was to develop English Listening Digital Worksheet for Grade X for Vocational school Students. This study was conducted by using Research and Development (R&D) design through six stages; need analysis, planning, designing digital worksheet, materials evaluation, revising (final product). The subject of the study was Grade X of Hospitality Major at SMK Negeri 7 Medan. The data were gathered by conducting interview to English teacher and distributing questionnaire to 1 class grade X consists of 36 students to get the students™ needs. The interview and questionnaire results prove that the students needs of English Listening Digital Worksheet appropriate with the Hospitality Major context. The product has been validated by experts. The result of the product was the digital worksheet combined with the Wizer.me platform.Keywords: english listening digital worksheet, Wizer.me, research and development (R&D)

Abstract

The study was aimed to recognize how a teaching method could increase students™ competence in speaking. The objective of the study is to describe how the dubbing movie increases the students speaking skill of the tenth Grade Students  of SMA N 15 Medan. The research design is a qualitative research. The data collecting methods were interview, observation, and documentation. The data gained was analyzed by using Miles and Huberman model of the data analysis. The research found that the students of the Grade X in SMA N 15 Medan enjoyed the process of preparing the video dubbing from the announcement, script preparing, and the practice. Some students who noticed difficult in speaking English were found increase in speaking competence especially in languages expression and found a fun way to practice English speaking. For short, the video dubbing teaching method increased the students of SMA N 15 Medan English speaking competence.
