Abstract

The purposes of this study are to determine the achievement of learning progress in introducing the letter and reading it by using hijaiyah puppet; determine the outcome of a child's development achievement in introducing the letter and reading hijaiyah by using hijaiyah card, determine differences in learning outcomes recognize letters and read hijaiyah using puppets and hijaiyah card. t-Test result of experimental group is known by the original pretest average value by 8.60 and turned into 11.63, so the experimental group increased by 3.03. t-Test of the control group found that the average value of the original pretest by 8.97 turned into 12.97, so the control group increased by 4.00. There are differences between pretest and posttest, but the difference is shown by the increase in the average value of the control group of children which is smaller than the increase in the experimental group. The conclusions that can be drawn based on the results and discussion revealed that (1) the results of the experimental class study increased with the improvement from the pretest to the posttest, (2) the results of the control group study increased, with the increase from the pretest to the posttest, (3) between the experimental group and the control group is Ho rejected because it has value t count and t table, (4) this shows that there are differences average of post-test results between the experimental group and the control group.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the characteristics and effectiveness of photonovella adventure media development for improving the storytelling skills with the place where I live as the theme in high-class students at elementary school. This study used a qualitative approach in the form of data development needs and quantitative in the form of test scores referring to the rubric of the assessment of storytelling skills. Trials were conducted twice, i.e. limited trials and implementation tests. The implementation test was conducted in grade 4 at three elementary schools. The result of this research is characteristic of development of photonovella adventure media has 3 principles based on aspect of development requirement, that is usage effect principle, content of story photonovella, media of story telling. The improvement of storytelling skills can be determined using normalized gain. The result of N-gain calculation showed that the value of g = 0.704, it means that there is a significant increase. The result shows tvalue is 16.616 and ttable is 1.67 which means that the media of photonovella adventure can be applied effectively. The conclusion is the media of photonovella adventure has 3 characteristic principles, and it is also effective for the improvement of storytelling skills.

Abstract

The research is motivated by the lack of ICT-based learning media, mathematics learning for elementary school children is still inductive, and lacks of good character attitudes. The purpose of this study was to develop realistic mathematics education mobile learning for elementary school students. The research method used ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). Based on the needs analysis, both students and teachers need a realistic learning media that can be represented through smartphone or tablet devices to support the learning. So, it is important to develop realistic mathematics education mobile learning. The product was validated by media experts, material experts, and practitioners. The results of expert validation get  percentage of  90% with  very good category for its performance, 92.5% with  very good category for the content competency. Furthermore, validation results from practitioners get 89% with very good categories. The realistic mathematics education mobile learning contains elements used in context, used of models, interactivity, students contribution, and interwoven. In addition, the media contained concrete images, videos, sounds, and questions that are arranged in online system. Based on these results it can be said that the realistic mathematics education mobile learning is valid for use.

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning towards improving the competence of Early Childhood Education teachers. The object of this research was the readiness center learning model using audio-visual media. The result of development was a prototype model of early childhood education in the form of a textbook, readiness center learning, and audio-visual media. The audio-visual media in the form of a Compact Disc (CD) comprising Universe Theme for Natural Phenomena Subtheme (Flood, Earthquake, Eruption, Rain, Rainbow, Morning Day Night). The use of CD requires teachers to be able to operate computers, LCD, and projector. Therefore, teachers can enhance their competence in IT mastery. Readiness center model using audio-visual effectively increases the competence of early childhood education teachers in managing quality learning and developing achievements on cognitive and psychomotor aspects.

The population of this study was the parents of 4-5-year-old children of Early Childhood Education Programs (PAUD) Gugus Nusa Indah Candisari Sub-district Semarang. The sampling technique used proportionate stratified random sampling, and the calculation of sampling amount used Slovin's Formula to collect 112 respondents. The data collecting method used a questionnaire with a Likert scale as the measurement scale. The data analysis technique used ANOVA test to analyze the difference between independence and confidence based on parenting style. The results of the study showed that from the ANOVA test, the probability value (pvalue = 0.000). Thus, it was found that there was a difference in pre-school (4-5 years old) children’s independence and confidence level based on the parenting style. There was a difference in children’s independence level based on the parenting style, the comparison of independence scale and parenting style was found that the value of the mean difference (MD) = 12.16 with the significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. There was a difference in children’s confidence level based on the parenting style, the comparison of independence scale and parenting style was found that the value of the mean difference (MD) = 18.5 with the significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. The conclusion of this study is that there was a positive and significant difference in children’s independence level based on the parenting style. There was a positive and significant difference in children’s confidence level based on the parenting style.
