Abstract

  Telah dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di Perguruan Muhammadiyah Wiyung Surabaya. Tujuan pengabdian adalah: 1) meningkatkan pemahaman guru SMP dan SMA terhadap penggunaan facebook sebagai media pembelajaran inovatif, 2) mendorong guru menerapkan media pembelajaran inovatif menggunakan facebook, 3) penggunaan media pembelajaran inovatif menggunakan facebook mendapatkan respon yang baik dari siswa. Metode kegiatan adalah pelatihan, pendampingan, penerapan, dan penilaian. Teknik pengambilan data adalah pengamatan dan angket. Skor angket menggunakan skala Likert (skala 1-4), dan kategori skor rerata adalah: sangat kurang (1 ≤ x <1,5), kurang (1,5 ≤ x < 2,5), baik (2,5 ≤ x < 3,5), dan sangat baik (3,5 ≤ x ≤ 4). Analisis data untuk mengukur kategori keberhasilan dilakukan dengan menghitung rerata skor dan persentase tiap aspek yang ditanyakan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penggunaan media pembelajaran inovatif menggunakan facebook adalah: 1) pemahaman guru meningkat, 2) 30% guru membuat grup facebook dan menerapkannya dalam pembelajaran, 3) mendapatkan respon yang baik dari guru dan siswa. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah kegiatan pelatihan, pendampingan, penerapan, dan penilaian penggunaan facebook sebagai media pembelajaran inovatif menghasilkan peningkatan pemahaman guru, menghasilkan media pembelajarn inovatif karya guru, dan mendapatkan respon yang baik dari siswa.

Abstract

Banyak guru kini terdorong oleh kewajiban menerbitkan karya ilmiah untuk memperjuangkan kenaikan pangkat, khususnya di Trenggalek. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini dilaksanakan sebagai solusi atas permasalahan tersebut oleh mitra yang telah terbukti efektif dalam memberikan pelatihan penulisan artikel ilmiah/akademik kepada para pendidik guru khususnya di Kabupaten Trenggalek. PKM ini akan meningkatkan keterampilan maupun kemampuan para guru penggerak agar semakin terlihat dan akan berdampak positif langsung terhadap peningkatan kualitas pengajar di Provinsi Trenggalek khususnya penulisan ilmiah. Currently, especially in Trenggalek province, many motivated teachers need help to get promoted due to the obligation to publish academic papers. These findings reveal that teachers lack the knowledge and competence to prepare for scientific work. This community service activity was carried out as a solution to the problem of partners who have proven effective in providing training in writing scientific articles for teacher educators, especially in the Trenggalek Regency. This PKM will make the achievements of driving instructors more visible and will positively impact improving the quality of instructors in Trenggalek, especially in scientific writing.

Abstract

Research aims to determine the profile of  Toulmin’s Scientific Argument on students' and Technological Utilities  In Global Warning Topic. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using the observation method. Data is collected through observation, validation, tests, and questionnaires for student responses. The analysis of students' argumentation skills was carried out by observing the learning process and giving a written test conducted in students of senior high school. According to Toulmin, the assessment of students' argumentation skills refers to the measurement of argumentation skills, which includes components of claim, data, warrant, rebuttal, and backing. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Toulmin’s Scientific Arguments students and Technological Utilities are still relatively low, Toulmin Scientific Arguments students skills are at level 2, dominated by the most claims originating from scientific data/concepts and experience as well as personal observations of the environment and the use of technology in learning is still not optimal to improve Toulmin’s Scientific Arguments Students. Hence, it is necessary to provide innovative learning that can optimally improve Toulmin’s Scientific Arguments.

Abstract

Objective: The assessment approach is crucial to achieving learning outcomes. Contonuous-Assessment (CA) is one alternative assessment that can be used to increase various skills. This preliminary study aims to: (1) formulate CA and project-based assessment in higher education; (2) describe the lecturer's and students' perception of CA in the postgraduate program; (3) map course assignments within the framework of CA at the postgraduate level. Method: Data was collected through Forum Group Discussions (FGDs) and questionnaires. Data were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. Results: The results show that the conceptual study of the CA should pay attention to the purposes, improve the learning process, involve students fully and purposefully in their learning, and explore the factors that influence the learning process. The design of CA is realized as demand mapping for each course in the form of products or small projects as part of the stages for completing a thesis/dissertation. Most lecturers and students agree that the lecture process uses a CA design in which each course contributes to achieving the thesis/dissertation. A small number of them disagree and give some suggestions. Novelty: The novelty of this research is to produce a mapping of assignments from all courses, which leads to the completion of writing a thesis/dissertation.

Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of contextual phenomena-based learning to increase scientific literacy in three Basic Physics materials.. Method: This research method is descriptive and quantitative with the type of Pre-Experimental research. The subjects of this study were 27 students of Physics Education class A at Surabaya State University class of 2022. Result: The results of the data analysis showed that learning based on contextual phenomena to increase scientific literacy was an excellent category to apply. This is shown by implementing learning on the three materials with suitable criteria. Student activities for each material are in very good criteria. Moreover, the average N-gain value obtained through the Pre-test and Post test scores on the third material is in the high category. As well as the results of the average student response to the learning that is applied is also in the high category and gets a positive response from students. From the four results of data analysis, it can be interpreted that learning based on contextual phenomena effectively increases scientific literacy. Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of high school students' creative thinking abilities by using a creative thinking ability assessment instrument based on problem solving in renewable energy materials. The instrument is in the form of a description with reference to indicators of creative thinking (fluency, elaboration, originality, and flexibility) and the polya problem solving stage (understanding the problem, making plans, implementing plans, and seeing or re-examining). The instruments used were developed using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) and the data collection techniques used tests and questionnaires. The sample of this research was 60 students of class X MA Matholi'ul Anwar Lamongan for the 2022/2023 academic year. The results of the implementation of the instrument showed that the level of creative thinking ability of class X students of MA Matholi'ul Anwar Lamongan was 32% categorized as quite creative and 68% categorized as creative. The ability of students in each indicator to think creatively obtained the highest to the lowest score respectively on the aspects of fluency, elaboration, originality, and flexibility. The results of the analysis of the creative thinking ability profile of class X students of MA Matholi'ul Anwar Lamongan are categorized as quite creative and creative. Abstract

This research is the part of the development of Google Form assessment to measure physics scientific literacy skills in Kabupaten Lamongan Flooding Phenomena. The purpose of this research is to describe the competency profile of high school scientific literacy in the context of the flood phenomena in Kabupaten Lamongan. The research method used is descriptive quantitative by measuring students' scientific literacy skills using a physics assessment instrument with the topic of flooding phenomena in Kabupaten Lamongan on static and dynamic fluid which is distributed and worked by using the Gaoogle Form and has gone through the question quality test stage which states the question is a matter valid and appropriate. The population in the study consisted of 60 students of class XI MIPA 8 and XI MIPA 9 from a high school in Kabupaten Lamongan. The data analysis technique is quantitative descriptive analysis from the results of testing students' scientific literacy levels and response questionnaire analysis to find out student feedback to the test. The results of this study are that the majority of students at SMAN 1 Lamongan have scientific literacy skills in the medium category because students have been trained in some scientific literacy skills while learning, the competence to explain phenomena scientifically has an average of 52.22% in the medium category, the competence to evaluate and design scientific inquiry has an average of 61.87% in the high category, the competency of interpreting data and evidence scientifically is in the medium category with an average percentage of 58.46% the majority of students state that the scientific literacy instruments developed are more interesting than the calculation questions that are usually done at school, and using Google Forms in assessments can make it easier for students to understand and work on scientific literacy assessment questions. Abstract

This research is motivated by the low motivation of students to learn physics at SMA Negeri 1 Wonoayu. Based on the preliminary study conducted by the author in Class XI-3, it shows that 51.2% of students have low motivation to learn physics. Learning that is solely based on textbooks and not connected to the students' conditions, including their past experiences and their social and cultural backgrounds, can lead to low student participation and motivation. Therefore, efforts are needed from teachers to make physics learning more engaging, one of which is by implementing the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach. CRT is a teaching approach that utilizes students' cultural references as a means to learn a subject matter. This research is a collaborative classroom action research conducted in two cycles. Data related to student motivation was obtained through a motivation questionnaire, while student learning outcomes in the knowledge domain were obtained through written tests. The research results show a significant improvement in physics learning motivation, starting from the initial observation, Cycle 1, and ending in Cycle 2, which are 48.8%, 70.5%, and 82.9%, respectively. Additionally, student learning outcomes also improved from Cycle 1 to Cycle 2, increasing from 61.1% to 94.4%. This indicates that the implementation of the CRT approach in physics learning is effective in enhancing student motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Fisika salah satu mata pelajaran yang menunjang kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Era digital saat ini berpikir kritis diperlukan untuk menunjang kemampuan siswa. Materi-materi dalam fisika membutuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis untuk menelaah hubungan antar konsep. Model pembelajaraan koorperatif dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis Siswa dapat membentuk kelompok - kelompok belajar yang dapat meningkatkan motivasi, produktivitas dan perolehan belajar. Jenis Penelitian merupakan penelitian berbasis metadata yang diperoleh melalui penelusuran data google scholar dengan mendeskripsikan hasil penelitian terkait penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Hasil penelitian dari jurnal yang dikumpulkan dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil analisis penelitian menunjukkan keefektifan pembelajaran cenderung naik jika dilakukan secara luring dan turun bila terjadi distancing social. N-gain tertinggi ada pada materi suhu dan kalor dengan nilai 0,80 sedangkan N-gain terendah ada pada materi medan magnet dengan nilai 0,43. Rata-rata Persentase N-gain dari 11 materi fisika yang memiliki kategore rendah sebesar 0%, untuk kategori sedang72,73% dan untuk kategori tinggi 27,27%. Desain penelitian yang dominan digunakan yaitu menggunakan quasi experiment dengan menerapkan kelompok control yang mencari hubungan eksternal dengan materi sehingga bisa berpengaruh terdapat hasil pembelajaran. Jenis pembelajaran koorporatif populernya menggunakan STAD (Student Teams Archievement Division) yang merupakan jenis pembelajaran yang dibentuk dengan kelompok-kelompok belajar dan melakukan suatu penelitian yang berhubungan dengan materi fisika. Model pembelajaran yang kooporatif sangat terpengaruh dengan metode, jenis dan kegiatan belajar mengajar supaya dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the results of research on the application of inquiry learning models to improve science process skills. Secondary data were collected through Publish or Perish (PoP) from 2017 to 2023 on Google Scholar. Data analysis uses descriptive quantitative which contains a description of the findings in the study. The results of the analysis of 23 previous research journal articles concluded that the guided inquiry learning model is an inquiry learning model that is widely used to improve science process skills. The type of research that is widely used is Quasi-Experimental (43.48%.). Learning media in the form of PhET (50.00%) is widely used in the learning process to understand and master the material. Subjective (essay) and Objective (multiple choice) assessment forms can be used to measure science process skills. The physics materials used were elasticity, static fluid, light waves, harmonic motion, vibrations and waves, harmonic vibrations, Archimedes' law, Bernoulli's law, Newton's law of motion, the zero law of thermodynamics, the balance of rigid bodies, dynamic electricity, temperature and heat, and effort and energy. The highest N-gain result is in dynamic electricity material with a value of 0.82 while the lowest N-gain is in the material of the balance of a rigid body with a value of 0.36.
