Abstract

Yogyakarta is one of the top 10 cities with the highest number of dengue cases in Indonesia. One of the reasons for this is the lack of knowledge about the dengue virus in the community. To find out the quality of life of dengue patients in the Bantul Penembahan Senopati Public Hospital. This research uses the descriptive method with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique utilized was the purposive sampling method. 18 research subjects were chosen as the sample with an inclusion criteria of patients undergoing inpatient treatment and aged > 4 years of age. This study used the EQ-5D-5L and EQ-5D-Y.The quality of life of 70% of the adult patients experienced pain of EQ-VAS 67 ± 17.191, while all child patients experienced pain of EQ-VAS 54.375 ± 11.783. The quality of life of dengue patients was measured with the EQ-5D-5L for adults and EQ-5D-Y for children and obtained a poor score due to a decrease in the dimension of pain felt and the usual activities done such as working, studying, and playing.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of impaired growth and development in children due to chronic nutritional disorders or infections. The risk factor for stunting is dominated by disease during 1000 days of life. The incidence of stunting in Indonesia is 21.6%, according to the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) results. This study aimed to identify stunting biomarkers based on the priority scoring of gene variants. Identification of stunting risk genes used the Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) approach and Haploreg v4.1. We found 33 genes that identifies as stunting risk gene. And then, we prioritize based on two functional annotation categories: missense-nonsense and cis-expression quantitative trait loci (cis-eQTL). Our analysis found 4 genes as biological stunting risk genes: MTRR, TTF1, CASP1, and CARD17. This research demonstrates the integration of genomic variants and bioinformatics approaches to reveal biological insights for stunting.

Abstract

Complete basic immunization aims to establish an effective protection system and herd immunity. Factors that influence immunization programs are parents' knowledge, perceptions, and attitudes. Efforts to improve parents' understanding can be done through education using easily accessible video media. This study aims to determine the effect of complete basic immunization education based on video on parents' knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding immunization. This study employs a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-post-test design. Data collection was conducted in April 2024. A total of 361 participants were recruited for this study, with inclusion criteria including parents of children aged up to 1.5 years residing in the service area of the Public Health Center in Yogyakarta City, and who had provided informed consent. The measurement of parents' knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding child immunization was assessed at the pre-test and post-test intervention stages, specifically on day 1 after recruitment and the post-test on day 7 after the educational intervention. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire on parents' knowledge, attitudes, and practices, which had previously undergone validity and reliability testing. Statistical data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. The level of respondents' knowledge after receiving the intervention using educational videos showed an increase in the good criteria from 80.1% to 97.2%, attitude good criteria from 83.1% to 97.0%, while practice showed good criteria from 92.8% to 96.7%. The Wilcoxon test results for knowledge and attitude showed positive ranks of 62 and 50 respondents, respectively, who experienced an increase in knowledge with a p-value of 0.000, while for complete basic immunization practices, there was an increase of 3 respondents with a p-value of 0.083. There was a significant effect of education through videos about complete basic immunization on parents' knowledge and attitudes with a p-value of 0.000, but there was no significant effect on practice.

Abstract

Patients with chronic renal failure must undergo lifelong treatment. The condition raises treatment-related responsibilities and may affect their treatment adhesion. The aim of this study was to determine the correlation between the burden of medication and the level of medication adherence among chronic kidney failure patients at Sleman Regional Hospital in Yogyakarta. This study took the form of observational study with a cross-sectional design. Data were collected using LMQ (Living with Medicine Questionnaire) and Visual Analog Sacle (VAS) overall burden to determine the burden and MARS (Medication Adherence Rating Scale) to determine medication adherence level. The samples in this study were 60 patients from all patients  undergoing hemodialysis who met the inclusion criteria. Sampling was taken using a consecutive sampling technique with inclusion criteria of patients willing to complete the questionnaire and patients diagnosed with chronic renal  failure aged more than 18 years. To determine the relationship between medication burden and medication adherence, data was examined using the Spearman test.  The results of this study showed that 40 patients (66.7%) had moderate medication burden and 50 patients (83%) had moderate medication adherence. There was a significant correlation between the LMQ score and MARS (correlation-coefficient = 0.581, p=0.000) and a significant correlation between the VAS score and MARS (correlation-coefficient= 0.651, p=0.000). Thus, it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between treatment burden and the level of treatment compliance, where the higher the burden, the higher the level of compliance in chronic kidney failure patients.

Abstract

Breast cancer is a type of cancer with a fairly high death rate. DIY Province has the highest prevalence of breast cancer in Indonesia. One of the medical ways to treat cancer is chemotherapy which uses cytostatic drugs, aimed at killing or slowing the growth of cancer cells. However, these drugs cause side effects in patients. Education is needed in dealing with side effects in order to monitor the patient's condition. Therefore, this research was conducted to determine the incidence of side effects of chemotherapy in breast cancer patients who use the M-Health app "Pantau Kanker" at Yogyakarta General Hospital. The research method used descriptive observational, with 41 patients as respondents. Recruitment was carried out using informed consent based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection was carried out using CRF (case report form) monitoring drug side effects. Data collection was carried out on the first, third and fifth days after chemotherapy. Monitoring is carried out through direct interviews with patients and through searching medical record data. Monitoring for nausea, vomiting and pain is carried out using the "Pantau Kanker" application based on the M-Health app with the VAS (visual analogue scale).  The results of this study showed that nausea often occurs on the first day, due to immediate side effects (24 hour duration). Then, those including delayed ADRs such as anorexia, insomnia are often found on the third day, while on the fifth day the majority occur alopecia and tingling pain. Some side effects, such as diarrhea, constipation, stomatitis (mouth ulcers), and fever, are not experienced by many patients. Some side effects, such as diarrhea, constipation, stomatitis (mouth ulcers), and fever are not experienced by many patients. The therapy regimen used is dominated by low emetogenic, so that the majority of side effects that appear are in the mild category and do not interfere with the patient's activities. The conclusion of the study shows that monitoring of side effects when using cytostatic drugs occurs between days 1 to 5, the majority are in the mild category so that the patient's daily activities can still run well.

Abstract

Urological surgical procedures, such as urolithiasis and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), continue to increase with high recurrence rates. Limited treatment facilities and the risk of antibiotic resistance can affect the cost burden. This study aims to determine the alignment of direct medical costs with INA-CBG’s claim rates and to identify variables influencing total direct medical costs. The study employs an observational approach with a retrospective design. Samples were selected using purposive sampling with inclusion criteria. Data were collected from electronic medical records and financial reports. Direct medical costs were calculated based on all cost components using a hospital perspective approach. Data analysis used univariate, bivariate, and multivariate tests. The average total direct medical costs for urology patients were Rp 9,962,325 ± Rp 1,699,707.79, while the INA-CBG’s claim rates were Rp 9,600,328 ± Rp 1,853,291.26. There were differences in direct medical costs based on age (p-value 0.024), care class (p-value 0.035), and length of stay (LOS) (p-value 0.000). Regression analysis shows that LOS and care class have a statistically significant impact on total direct medical costs (p-value < 0.05). There is a difference between the actual costs borne by the hospital and the INA-CBG’s claim rates.
