Abstract

Sementara banyak siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menguasai kosakata bahasa Inggris, yang lain mampu meningkat ketika mereka terlibat secara aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran yang bermakna. Memahami bagaimana pendekatan pembelajaran yang efektif dapat mendukung perkembangan kosakata siswa sangat penting untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar. Namun, penelitian mengenai efektivitas Task-Based Learning (TBL) dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata siswa, khususnya dalam konteks pendidikan vokasi, masih terbatas. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh Task-Based Learning terhadap penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris siswa di SMK Pembina Bangsa Bukittinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen kuantitatif yang melibatkan kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test dan post-test dari 40 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling dan dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif serta uji independent sample t-test. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan, dengan nilai rata-rata meningkat dari 80,00 menjadi 91,25, sedangkan kelompok kontrol meningkat dari 77,50 menjadi 86,50. Hasil uji t menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,008 (< 0,05), yang berarti bahwa Task-Based Learning memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap penguasaan kosakata siswa. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa Task-Based Learning dapat meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa, memfasilitasi pengalaman belajar yang bermakna, serta mendukung penguasaan kosakata dalam konteks kehidupan nyata. Oleh karena itu, metode ini direkomendasikan sebagai strategi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata siswa, khususnya dalam konteks pendidikan vokasi.

Abstract

Student video-based tasks have become an essential medium in language learning, particularly in improving students’ speaking performance, as they provide opportunities to practice pronunciation, fluency, and confidence through recording, reviewing, and refining speech. Despite these benefits, preliminary research at SMPN 3 Ampek Angkek revealed that many students experienced difficulties when completing video-based speaking tasks, including pronunciation errors, low confidence, nervousness, and lack of fluency. Some students appeared hesitant, avoided eye contact, spoke in a low tone, and struggled with articulation and clarity. This study employed a qualitative research design to explore these problems in depth, using observations and structured interviews as data collection methods. The data were obtained from students’ video assignments and interviews with students who experienced speaking difficulties. The findings indicated that three main factors contributed to students’ speaking problems: inhibition, nothing to say, and mother tongue interference. Inhibition was reflected in students’ anxiety, fear of making mistakes, and lack of self-confidence, which caused them to limit their speech and hesitate while speaking. The “nothing to say” factor was evident in students’ limited vocabulary mastery and insufficient understanding of the given topics, resulting in frequent pauses and disrupted fluency. Meanwhile, mother tongue interference negatively affected students’ pronunciation and sentence patterns and led to frequent code-switching between English and their first language. These findings suggest that teachers need to provide more structured speaking practice, strengthen students’ vocabulary and topic comprehension, apply confidence-building strategies, and offer focused pronunciation training to improve students’ speaking performance in video-based speaking tasks.

Abstract

This study examines students’ perceptions of the English for Economics course at the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Islam Negeri Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi, Indonesia, within the framework of English for Specific Purposes (ESP). The study aims to investigate students’ perceptions regarding the course’s relevance to academic and professional preparation. A quantitative descriptive design was employed using a survey approach. Data were collected from 89 fifth-semester Islamic Economics students through a 41-item closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire. The instrument was validated using Aiken’s V coefficient and demonstrated strong internal consistency, with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.875. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques to determine frequency distributions and perception categories. The findings indicate that students generally hold positive perceptions of the course. Approximately 85.4% of respondents perceived the course as relevant, with 79.8% confirming academic relevance and 77.5% acknowledging career relevance. In terms of language skill development, speaking showed the highest perceived improvement (67.4%), followed by listening (65.1%), reading (64.0%), and writing (61.1%). Overall, 84.3% of students reported positive perceptions of the English for Economics course. These results suggest that the course effectively operationalizes ESP principles by aligning instructional objectives with students’ disciplinary and professional needs. However, the unequal distribution of perceived skill development, particularly the comparatively lower improvement in writing, highlights the necessity for more systematic writing instruction and a more balanced pedagogical integration across language skills. In conclusion, the course is pedagogically effective; however, targeted instructional refinement is required to promote comprehensive language competence among economics students.

Abstract

Dui’ Pappenre’ in Bugis marriage holds a negative stigma among the community, but from an Islamic economic perspective, Dui’ Pappenre’ becomes an instrument that can stimulate a man’s economic and mental circulation. This study aims to analyze the socio-economic impact of the Dui’ Pappenre’ tradition while examining its influence on the economic resilience of Bugis Muslim households. This study applies a qualitative descriptive design through an ethnographic approach and an interpretive paradigm to dissect the reality of the research object naturally. Through an ethnographic approach, this study seeks to explore a comprehensive explanation of the socio-cultural phenomenon of Bugis marriage based on the perspectives and direct experiences of the research subjects. Data were collected through observation techniques and in-depth interviews, which were strengthened by the results of previous studies as secondary data. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model which includes the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the high levels of dowry and Dui’ Pappenre’ are sometimes seen as obstacles to marriage. However, substantively, it is a cultural symbolization that reflects the sacredness of marriage for the Bugis community. In Islamic economics, this phenomenon is viewed as an effort to fulfill the common good (maslahah) and distribute economic prosperity collectively. This research projects that if managed with principles of justice and appropriate financial protection, Dui’ Pappenre’ can transform into a pillar of resilience for the economic stability of Muslim households in the future.

Abstract

Kepala sekolah memiliki peran strategis dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan melalui penerapan keterampilan manajerial yang efektif. Keterampilan manajerial mencakup kemampuan konseptual, administratif, dan manusiawi yang berkontribusi terhadap optimalisasi pengelolaan sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keterampilan manajerial kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di SMP GIKI 2 Surabaya dan SMP 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui metode studi multi- situs. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan analisis dokumen kebijakan sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah di SMP GIKI 2 Surabaya lebih menekankan pada kebijakan berbasis data dan efisiensi administrasi dalam meningkatkan efektivitas pengelolaan sekolah. Sementara itu, kepala sekolah di SMP 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya mengedepankan pendekatan interpersonal dan kepemimpinan transformasional guna memperkuat budaya organisasi dan meningkatkan motivasi tenaga pendidik serta peserta didik. Meskipun pendekatan yang diterapkan memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda, keduanya terbukti berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan mutu pendidikan melalui penguatan profesionalisme tenaga pendidik, optimalisasi sumber daya sekolah, serta penciptaan lingkungan pembelajaran yang kondusif. Temuan penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa efektivitas keterampilan manajerial kepala sekolah tidak hanya ditentukan oleh satu pendekatan tertentu, tetapi bergantung pada konteks dan kebutuhan spesifik masing-masing institusi pendidikan. Implikasi dari penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan model kepemimpinan sekolah yang adaptif dan berbasis data, serta dapat menjadi referensi bagi pemangku kebijakan dalam merumuskan strategi peningkatan kapasitas kepala sekolah guna menunjang mutu pendidikan yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Kadar gula darah puasa merupakan kadar glukosa darah yang diukur setelah puasa selama 8 – 12 jam. Gula darah sewaktu merupakah suatu pemeriksaan gula darah yang dilakukan setiap waktu tanpa tidak harus memperhatikan makanan terakhir yang dimakan. Diabetes Mellitus (DM) adalah kondisi kronis yang terjadi bila ada peningkatan kadar glukosa dalam darah karena tubuh tidak dapat menghasilkan insulin atau menggunakan insulin secara efektif. Pengelolaan Penyakit Kronis (PROLANIS) adalah suatu pelayanan kesehatan yang melibatkan pasien, fasilitas kesehatan dan BPJS kesehatan dengan pendekatan proaktif dan pelaksanaan yang terintegrasi dalam rangka mencapai pemeliharaan kesehatan peserta BPJS yang menderita penyakit kronis dengan tujuan meningkatkan kualitas hidup optimal dan biaya yang efektif dan efisien. Tujuan penelitian yang dilakukan adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas hasil pemeriksaan gula darah puasa dan gula darah sewaktu terhadap pasien diabetes melitus pada Program Pengelolaan Penyakit Kronis (PROLANIS) di Puskesmas Bane Pematang Siantar. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah jenis penelitian observasional anaitik dengan menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Hasil penelitian dari 20 responden terdapat 15 responden (75%) hasil pemeriksaan gula darah kategori sewaktu terhadap pasien diabetes melitus pada Prolanis kategori tidak baik, sementara 5 responden (15%) hasil pemeriksaan gula darah puasa terhadap pasien diabetes melitus pada Prolanis kategori baik. Kesimpulan efektivitas hasil pemeriksaan gula darah puasa dan gula darah sewaktu terhadap pasien diabetes melitus pada Program Pengelolaan Penyakit Kornis (Prolanis) di Puskesmas Bane Pematang Siantar adalah signifikan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis manajemen kurikulum dan strategi guru dalam pembinaan karakter serta ibadah peserta didik di SD Islam Terpadu Ikhtiar Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi terhadap kepala sekolah, guru, serta peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen kurikulum dilaksanakan melalui tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi yang berorientasi pada integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dalam seluruh aspek pembelajaran. Guru berperan sebagai perancang dan pelaksana pembelajaran yang menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter dan membimbing pelaksanaan ibadah melalui kegiatan pembiasaan, keteladanan, serta pengawasan. Pembinaan ibadah peserta didik diwujudkan melalui program harian seperti shalat berjamaah, tadarus Al-Qur’an, hafalan, dan kegiatan keagamaan lainnya. Sinergi antara kepala sekolah, guru, orang tua, dan lingkungan sekolah menjadi faktor kunci keberhasilan pembinaan karakter dan ibadah di SD IT Ikhtiar Makassar.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine PPKN learning strategies in instilling character values in students. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 19 Bone in XI. Data collection techniques using the approach of observation, interviews, and documentation. This study uses a type of qualitative research. Data reduction was carried out then analyzed and verified using source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that, PPKN learning strategies in instilling character values in students are by identifying changes in students' behavior and personality, choosing an appropriate approach system in the learning process, choosing and establishing teaching and learning policies and techniques to guide teachers in carry out teaching activities, establish conditions for success as a benchmark for success standards so that they can be used as a guide for teachers to evaluate the results of teaching and learning activities. In conclusion, the implementation of Pancasila and Citizenship Education learning in instilling character values in students at SMAN 19 Bone, namely through the stages of learning in class, such as praying together before starting lessons, applying discipline by arriving on time, giving assignments and motivating students after learning is finished.
