Abstract

In this research, we create a single-phase to ground synthetic fault by the simulation of a three-phase cable system and identify the location using mathematical techniques of Fourier and modal transforms. Current and voltage signals are measured and analyzed for fault location by the reflection of the waves between the measured point and the fault location. By simulating the network and line modeling using alternative transient programs (ATP) and MATLAB software, two single-phase to ground faults are generated at different points of the line at times of 0.3 and 0.305 s. First, the fault waveforms are displayed in the ATP software, and then this waveform is transmitted to MATLAB and presented along with its phasor view over time. In addition to the waveforms, the detection and fault location indicators are presented in different states of fault. Fault resistances of 1, 100, and 1,000 ohms are considered for fault creation and modeling with low arch strength. The results show that the proposed method has an average fault of less than 0.25% to determine the fault location, which is perfectly correct. It is varied due to changing the conditions of time, resistance, location, and type of error but does not exceed the above value.

Abstract

In this article, a planar monopole two-element multiple input multiple output (MIMO) array has been designed and characterized with the intention of ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. The array has a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) working bandwidth (BW) of 13.258 GHz between 3.394-16.652 GHz, with a fractional BW (FBW) of 132.28% with respect to a center frequency of 10.023 GHz. The two elements of the MIMO array are 900 polarizations mismatched for better isolation. Consequently, less than 20 dB of isolation has been achieved throughout the entire BW. Also observed was a good combined realized peak gain of up to 5.85 dBi and total efficiency of greater than 85%. For MIMO performance key parameters, the array exhibits the envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) <0.0033, diversity gain (DG) >9.983, total active reflection coefficient (TARC) <0.445, mean effective gain difference (MEG12) ≈0 dB, and the channel capacity loss (CCL) <0.4 bps/Hz. This design would encourage designers to create high-performance MIMO antennas for UWB frequency-related applications.

Abstract

Photovoltaic (PV) modules have been becoming well-spread recently as alternative clean energy sources to traditional energy sources due to their efficiency and sustainability benefits. This paper applied various water temperatures and artificial dust levels to a couple of monocrystalline PV modules under outdoor conditions to observe their performance. Two different IV tracers were connected separately to each module for comparison purposes. Two temperature sensors were installed at the back of the panels to observe the cell temperatures. Besides, a temperature sensor was specified for ambient readings. Water flowed through an adjustable water-flow sensor to cool the overheated PV module using specific mass flow rates. The results indicate that the efficiency of the PV module starts to reduce when the panel temperature begins to surpass 49.1°C. It was discovered that cooling the PV module increases its efficiency from 0.97 percent at the lowest rate to 4.70 percent at the highest rate. Furthermore, accumulated dust on the PV module top surface can be reduced up to 3-fold under 110 g/m2 of dust, and up to 29.30% under 10 g/m2 of 100% of its generated energy. Improvement techniques and future work on PV module performance are also discussed.

Abstract

Recently, the public has been shocked by the mysterious figure of Hacker Bjorka. Bjorka hacked Indonesian officials. Bjorka leaks Indonesia's General Election Commission (KPU) data. This raises a significant red flag concerning Bjorka's ability to "disrupt" circumstances that are harmful to a large number of individuals, including his alleged action of leaking the personal data of influential state officials. Expert Putra Aji Adhari says Bjorka isn't a hacker. Aji Putra stated that Bjorka is a team. He, who has been invited to communicate with NASA, is sure Bjorka is still in Indonesia. Putra told Bjorka's hacking steps. Ardi Sutedja declared Bjorka isn't a person, his pattern mirrored a hacking group's. Sutedja knew Bjorka was Indonesian. Domestic targets, attacks, and mastery are evidences. On the other hand, Wiryana, as a hacker's handler, said that Bjorka is not a real hacker but rather a data collector. Ismail Fahmi says that a hacker like Bjorka uses a VPN to get to a server without leaving any traces. Bjorka might have come from Indonesia. One sign is that Bjorka's use of English is similar to how most Indonesians talk.

Abstract

The assignment problem is a famous problem in combinatorial optimization where several objects (tasks) are assigned to different entities (workers) with the goal of minimizing the total assignment cost. In real life, this problem often arises in many practical applications with uncertain data. Hence, this data (the assignment cost) is usually presented as fuzzy numbers. In this paper, the assignment problem is considered with trapezoidal fuzzy parameters and solved using the novel Dhouib-Matrix-AP1 (DM-AP1) heuristic. In fact, this research work presents the first application of the DM-AP1 heuristic to the fuzzy assignment problem, and a step-by-step application of DM-AP1 is detailed for more clarity. DM-AP1 is composed of three simple steps and repeated only once in n iterations. Moreover, DM-AP1 is enhanced with two techniques: a ranking function to order the trapezoidal fuzzy numbers and the min descriptive statistical metric to navigate through the research space. DM-AP1 is developed under the Python programming language and generates a convivial assignment network diagram plan.

Abstract

The transportation modes depend entirely on the viscosity of the oil. To date, none of the viscometric methods are able to provide measurements to meet all the requirements of oil flow, features of main oil pipelines, and trends in the oil industry, such as decarbonization and digitalization. The method of inline viscosity measurement of multiphase flow through a metal pipeline can be based on direct gamma ray measurement. It is stipulated by the ability of gamma-radiation to penetrate through the pipeline material without destroying it, as well as by the ability to work with flows containing free gas and the high capability to be introduced into automatic control systems. The authors consider the physical forces acting on the gas inclusions in the oil flow. They determine the physical dependence between the parameters determined by the radioisotope method and the viscosity of oil in the three-phase flow. These studies show good agreement with the work of other scientists. The prospect of further research will be to clarify the mathematical model of gas-oil flow, to increase the accuracy by reducing the number of assumptions made.

Abstract

The pandemic has accelerated technological advances in higher education. Learning management systems that make use of the persistent platform, a wide range of communication options, and profoundly immersive qualities quickly become the platform of choice for learning management systems. The blockchain enables non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and uses the blockchain architecture to validate college diplomas and transcripts, opening the way for a diverse variety of e-portfolios owned and shared by students and teachers. Another type of blockchain that is relatively new to the education scene is decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). Through this, technology courses, certificates, and more can become automated and authenticated on the blockchain. The current state of the web is rapidly evolving into what is known as Web 3.0. It is the emerging evolution of the internet to make it machine-readable, which includes leveraging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the cloud, and distributed ledger technologies such as blockchain. From the perspectives of the university and the metaverse, this paper discusses the shift in education brought about by NFTs, DAOs, Web 3.0, and the metaverse. The powerful mix of Web 3.0 and the metaverse is about to revolutionize the way people learn and teach in the modern world.

Abstract

This paper proposes a simple way to design a proportional integral derivative proportional integral derivative (PID) controller for a DC-DC buck converter. This work concerns getting the formula to calculate Kp, Ki, and Kd parameters from a PID controller easily. The main advantage of this formula is that the tuning process of the KP, KI and KD parameters of the PID controller will be simplified just by entering the R, L, and C component values of the buck converter into the formula. The synthesis process of the formula is explained step by step. State space analysis is used to model the equations and transfer functions of the buck converter. The transfer function of the PID controller and buck converter was analyzed to obtain the Buck Converter system's closed loop transfer function. The formula for calculating the parameters KP, KI and KD of the PID controller is derived from the closed loop transfer function of the buck converter system. Numerical simulations are provided to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed PID controller. The performance of the buck converter controlled by the proposed PID controller was tested under various load conditions.

Abstract

This research creates an optimal power grid stabilizer for four machines. Rotor speed signals are system inputs in the proposed design. To improve response, this system uses a conventional power system stabilizer (CPSS) and an optimal CPSS (OCPSS). The genetic optimization hybrid has a new structure, and the network generators use the bacterial foraging algorithm (BFA) with stabilizer system. The system set is tested by MATLAB software under various conditions to evaluate the designs. The experiment starts with a three-phase fault in line 3 that is fixed by breaking the line after 0.2 seconds. The simulation results show that after a short circuit in line 3, the proposed OCPSS design reaches damping after about a cycle of oscillation in 4 seconds. However, the conventional CPSS design achieves damping after four oscillations in six seconds. Simulations show that the proposed method is better than genetic algorithm (GA) and BFA. Power system oscillations are dampened faster and with lower amplitude when power system stabilizer (PSS) coordinate with the proposed optimization method. It also improves power system dynamics. We demonstrate with the proposed OCPSS stabilizer that advanced optimization systems can maximize system control capacity by utilizing conventional CPSS system advantages.

Abstract

In this study, a low-cost quadrature triangle oscillator using a voltage-controlled closed-loop dual operational amplifier (Op-Amp) architecture is proposed. Unlike other typical designs, this oscillator does not require any passive components. The use of an Op-Amp-based circuit is attractive for a triangle oscillator because it is more cost-effective than a microcontroller-based solution. This is especially true for sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) DC-AC power conversion applications. The slew-rate restriction of an Op-Amp is a useful characteristic for producing a triangle waveform when seen from the perspective of wave shaping techniques. The MC4558 and the JRC4558D are two examples of dual Op-Amps that are evaluated, contrasted, and described in this article. At supply voltages of +7 V and -7 V, the suggested quadrature triangle oscillator that uses Op-Amps MC4558 and JRC4558D has the same oscillation frequency, which is 63 kHz, as demonstrated by simulation and experimental data. The frequency stability is estimated to be around 0.23%. In addition, the findings from the experiment demonstrate that the proposed oscillator is a practical solution for the SPWM DC-AC power conversion application.
