Abstract

Cloud computing (CC) is a service that allows both data storage and data accessibility on the cloud through any on-demand service and application, without incurring the costs of local data storage and upkeep expenses. On the other hand, CC providers have to make sure good security among the consumers to inspire them to use the resources on the cloud as if it were their local storage, without bothering about the data quality. Therefore, data checking in the cloud gains much importance mostly at the demand of the customers for the data integrity that a third-party auditor (TPA) can be introduced to verify the data soundness. A present investigation introduced a secure and efficient auditing solution for cloud data under the Boneh-Lynn-Shacham (BLS) public identities to keep the information secure and at the same time perform auditing securely. this study restructured the public key equation with the signature equation in our proposed system so that there is an increment in complexity while quality execution speed is maintained, and the proposed system allows dynamic data processing in terms of insert, delete and modification. From the analysis of the system, which includes security and performance, the proposed system is very effective and safe.

Abstract

The high inertia ceiling suspended systems with multiple degrees of freedom uses power assist technologies to reduce operator’s burden to operate the machine. Such systems are popularly used in medical diagnostic systems, construction machines, material handling, automotive, and aerospace assembly lines. These systems commonly use multi-axis force-torque (FT) sensor to sense the forces applied by user on rotatable control handle. These sensed forces are utilized by power assist algorithm to drive system in required direction with the help of electrical motor drives. The rotatable control handle used to control the machine poses a significant obstacle for maintaining alignment between FT sensor co-ordinate frame and the system’s base frame. This research paper focuses on the development of homogeneous transformation matrix to compensate for any change in FT sensor orientation caused by rotation of control handle. The homogeneous transformation matrix developed in this research paper, transforms the force and torque values measured by FT sensor with respect to system base frame. This adaptive technique provided seamless control of the power assist ceiling suspended system from different directions during handling and movement. This helped to enhance control and flexibility of power assist ceiling suspended system.

Abstract

Miniaturization in the telecommunications field is deemed a current challenge and a critical demand in order to improve communication quality between the transmitter and the receiver while avoiding clutter issues. The main objective of this work is to design a miniature interdigital bandpass filter (IBF) using planar technology. The proposed bandpass filter is made up of three equidistant parallel-coupled lines carefully deposited on a small Rogers-5880 substrate possessing a full dimension of 10×10×1.6 mm3, a relative permittivity =2.2, and a loss tangen of 0.0009. The proposed IBF has been designed and simulated using the HFSS software, which is a simulator that studies the electromagnetic behavior of radio frequency structures using cutting-edge finite element solvers. The reached outcomes present good electrical performance in terms of insertion loss , reflection coefficient , voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), and selectivity, making the proposed IBF suitable for integration in small electronic devices for C-band applications (4 GHz to 8 GHz).

Abstract

Energy consumption by sector in Malaysia is rising significantly, especially for residential and commercial sectors, and is expected to continue to increase in the upcoming years. The existing power generated from a proton-exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) system may be insufficient to sustain peak load demands during peak periods in stationary residential applications. The presence of an ultra-capacitor (UC) bank would be beneficial as a support as it can supply a large burst of power. The integration of PEMFC and UC has the potential to provide an effective way to supply power demands, has better energy efficiency, and is also economically friendly. In this research, we demonstrate a proposed combined PEMFC and UC bank that operates in parallel. A novel design methodology and dynamic model for both PEMFC and UC systems as energy sources have been developed for stand-alone residential applications. The simulation results are shown in Matlab Simulink. These results are based on mathematical and dynamic models of the system being shown.

Abstract

Finite control set-predictive torque control (FCS-PTC) has emerged as a popular control method for induction motors (IMs) over the past decade. This paper provides a detailed hardware implementation of FCS-PTC with a constant weighting factor (WF) on 186 W of IM. The FCS-PTC is implemented using the DS1104 controller board programmed using C code. A comprehensive analysis of flux, torque, and the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the stator current is conducted and presented to establish a relationship between the WF and drive performance. The experimental results indicate that a higher WF results in improved performance in flux and THD current, but a poorer torque response. Conversely, a lower WF improves torque performance but sacrifices the flux and THD current. The analysis outcome will hopefully provide some guidelines for developing the WF selection techniques.

Abstract

Accurate state of charge (SOC) estimation is a critical requirement for the safe and efficient operation of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), particularly in second-life battery (SLB) applications where battery ageing, nonlinear degradation, and measurement noise introduce uncertainty. Although numerous SOC estimation techniques have been proposed, reliable prediction for new and second-life batteries under varied operating conditions remains challenging. In this study, a comparative investigation of the conventional coulomb counting (CC) method and a data-driven random forest (RF) model is conducted for SOC prediction in new and second-life LIBs. Experimental data are obtained from Murata US18650VTC5D cells under pulse discharge tests (PDT), constant discharge tests (CDT), and dynamic stress tests (DST) across a wide range of C-rates. PDT is conducted at 0.24 C, CDT at 0.2 C, 0.5 C, 1 C, and 2 C, while DST is performed at C-rates ranging from 0.5 C to 4 C at a controlled ambient temperature of 25 °C. The RF model is trained using voltage, current, and time features and evaluated against CC using MAE, MSE, RMSE, and R² metrics. Results show that RF consistently outperforms CC under all conditions, particularly for SLBs, achieving significantly lower errors and R² values approaching 0.998. These findings confirm the effectiveness of RF-based SOC estimation for intelligent battery management systems (BMS).

Abstract

This paper presents a novel adaptive constant power optimal efficiency control (ACPOEC) strategy that enables efficient constant power (CP) charging in a double-sided inductor-capacitor-capacitor (DS-LCC) wireless charger. The proposed control strategy is built upon triple-phase-shift (TPS) modulation and employs a pre-computed lookup table derived from offline optimization to achieve CP charging with corresponding optimal efficiency. The CP charger with the proposed strategy can eliminate switch-controlled capacitors (SCCs) in the topology. The proposed strategy is validated through simulation studies, achieving an efficiency range of 90.72% to 92.46%, which is also competitive with other advanced CP wireless charging systems. Compared with existing state-of-the-art CP wireless charging techniques, the wireless CP charger with the proposed ACPOEC strategy features a simplified topology, bidirectional power transfer capability, and competitive efficiency performance.

Abstract

The integration of Edge artificial intelligence (AI) with internet of things (IoT) technologies is transforming healthcare applications, including wearable monitoring, telemedicine, and implantable medical devices, by enabling low-latency and intelligent data processing close to patients. However, stringent requirements on energy efficiency, reliability, real-time responsiveness, and data privacy continue to hinder scalable and long-term deployment in resource-constrained healthcare environments. Energy-efficient reconfigurable architectures—such as field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), coarse-grained reconfigurable arrays (CGRAs), and emerging memory-centric and heterogeneous platforms—have emerged as promising solutions to address these challenges by balancing flexibility, adaptability, and power efficiency. This review systematically examines recent advances in reconfigurable Edge AI architectures for healthcare IoT, highlighting key trends in hardware–software co-design, AI-assisted design automation, memory-centric optimization, and domain-specific overlays. It further identifies critical challenges, including energy–performance trade-offs, runtime reconfiguration overheads, security and privacy vulnerabilities, limited standardization, and reliability concerns in dynamic clinical settings. Finally, future research directions are outlined, emphasizing self-optimizing and context-aware architectures, secure and trustworthy reconfiguration mechanisms, unified frameworks for heterogeneous healthcare workloads, and sustainable, carbon-aware edge computing. Collectively, this review positions energy-efficient reconfigurable architectures as a foundational enabler for next-generation Edge AI in IoT-enabled healthcare systems.

Abstract

Electric vehicles (EVs) require reliable and accurate diagnostic systems to ensure the performance, safety, and efficiency of their electrical and electronic components. This study presents the design and development of an Arduino-based Electronic Control Unit (ECU) simulator and an On-Board Diagnostics II (OBD-II) scanner for electric vehicle diagnostics, both using the Controller Area Network (CAN) communication protocol. The ECU simulator is built using an Arduino Mega 2560 and an MCP2515 CAN controller, equipped with potentiometers and push buttons to simulate various EV operating parameters such as motor speed, vehicle speed, battery voltage, temperature, state of charge, and regenerative braking conditions, as well as to generate Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). The OBD-II scanner is developed using an Arduino Uno, MCP2515 module, and a Nextion HMI LCD to support live data monitoring, DTC reading, and DTC clearing in accordance with SAE J1979 standards. System performance was evaluated using a CAN analyzer to verify frame structure, arbitration behaviors, data integrity, and communication reliability. The experimental results show that all transmitted CAN frames conform to the ISO 11898 standard and are correctly interpreted by the OBD-II scanner. The system achieved data accuracy of approximately 97% with an average response time of ±100 ms, indicating stable, reliable communication. The developed platform provides a low-cost, flexible, and effective solution for electric vehicle diagnostics, education, and laboratory testing without requiring real vehicles. It can serve as a foundation for future research involving multi-ECU communication and additional OBD protocols.
