Abstract

Road infrastructure design is an important aspect of regional development, especially in areas with high mobility such as Waled District, Cirebon Regency. This study aims to redesign the ±2.8 km section of Jl. Raya Waled Desa – Jl. Raya Jatimulya, Mekarjaya to meet the geometric standards for secondary collector roads as stipulated by the Directorate General of Highways. The research method was conducted through field surveys to obtain primary data on existing road conditions, topography, drainage, and traffic flow, which were then analyzed using civil engineering software such as Autodesk Civil 3D. The analysis results showed that the average width of the existing pavement was 5.5 meters with moderate to severe damage, so it needed to be widened to 6 meters to meet the standards. The maximum slope value of 3.2% is still within tolerance limits, but several points require elevation improvements to overcome flooding. Curve analysis shows that several segments have a radius of less than 90 meters, so superelevation improvements and curve widening are needed to ensure vehicle safety. Traffic load calculations (ESA5) show a total design load of 6,491,947 ESA (left direction) and 8,712,590 ESA (right direction), which are used as the basis for pavement thickness planning. In addition, a hydrological analysis using the Manning method resulted in a channel capacity of 1,643 m³/second with a flow velocity of 0.6 m/second, indicating that the drainage system needs improvement to accommodate rainwater runoff.

Abstract

Road infrastructure is a vital component in regional development, serving as a means of transportation, economic driver, and connectivity enhancer. Inadequate design can cause problems such as traffic congestion and accidents. Therefore, this study aims to analyze road geometry, determine pavement thickness, and estimate project costs for the Gronggong–Beber road section in Cirebon Regency. The study location is the main road connecting Bukit Gronggong and Beber District, which has a gentle to moderate hilly topography. The data used includes the 2025 Average Daily Traffic (ADT) and design parameters with a design speed (Vr) of 70 km/h and a design life of 15 years. Based on calculations, the total Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) value is 8109.29 SMP/day, and the road type applied is 2/2-TT. The geometric analysis results show that of the five curves reviewed (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5), all require transition curves (Pcek > 0.25). The recommended curve type is Spiral–Circle–Spiral (S-C-S). For example, at Curve 1, the radius value used is R = 180 m (exceeding Rmin = 167.75 m), with a superelevation (ed) of 6.43% and a spiral curve length (Ls) of 74.10 m. Furthermore, the vertical alignment analysis at five PV points shows that the vertical curve length (Lv) taken is 42 m, based on the flexibility requirements. Overall, the geometric redesign of the road on the Gronggong–Beber section is necessary to ensure that the road meets safety and comfort standards in accordance with technical specifications.

Abstract

This study examined the effect of road damage on the operation of alternate transportation routes using the systematic literature review (SLR) method. This study focused on the effects of road geometry, various forms of road damage, and societal repercussions. Major academic databases were searched for literature from 2013 to 2023 using the predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. According to general studies, geometric elements including lane width, curvature, slope, and shoulder conditions are directly associated to different types of damage like cracks, potholes, grooves, and drainage failures. These damages result in decreased route capacity, longer delivery times, higher rates of vehicle damage, higher accident risks, and restricted access to essential services. The social effects are substantial in places with little redundancy in the infrastructure. The findings demonstrate the importance of integrated planning that takes preventative maintenance and geometric design into account in order to guarantee transportation resilience and community welfare.

Abstract

Delays in construction project completion remain a major issue, particularly in multi-construction project environments characterized by limited resources and allocation conflicts. These conditions require high-quality project management human resources (HR) to ensure optimal project time performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of project management HR quality on time performance in multi-construction projects by examining five key dimensions: competence, loyalty, discipline, and integrity, with work motivation as a mediating variable. This study adopts a quantitative approach using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with SmartPLS 4 software. Data were collected through questionnaire surveys involving respondents engaged in three construction projects managed simultaneously. In addition, Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) was applied to identify practical priority indicators for improvement. The results indicate that the research model demonstrates very strong predictive capability, with coefficients of determination (R²) of 0.933 for time performance and 0.874 for work motivation. All HR quality variables have a positive and significant effect on project time performance, with the dominant influence order being discipline, competence, work motivation, loyalty, and integrity. Work motivation is proven to act as a mediating variable that strengthens the influence of HR quality on time performance. The IPA results identify four priority improvement indicators: technical competence, discipline in standard operating procedures and working hours, accuracy in project time control, and social motivation along with work environment support. This study concludes that improving the quality of project management HR implementation—particularly in the aspects of discipline and competence supported by work motivation—is a key factor in achieving effective time performance control in multi-construction projects.

Abstract

Project delays remain a critical issue in construction projects, particularly in hospital developments that involve high complexity, strict functional requirements, and intensive coordination among multidisciplinary teams. Empirical evidence indicates that many delays are not solely caused by technical or material factors, but are strongly associated with deficiencies in human resource management (HRM). This study addresses the question of how human resource–related factors structurally contribute to project delays and what root causes dominate these delays in hospital construction projects. To answer this question, the research applies Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) as the primary analytical method, using a deductive and top–down approach to decompose the main delay event into intermediate and basic events related to HRM practices. A case study was conducted on a hospital construction project in Jakarta that experienced significant schedule deviation. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews with project personnel, and project documentation, and subsequently modeled into a fault tree structure using logical AND and OR relationships. The results indicate that ineffective workforce planning and weak coordination and communication systems constitute the most critical root causes of project delays. These factors trigger cascading effects such as work interruptions, rework, low labor productivity, and delayed decision-making, which collectively lead to schedule overruns. This study contributes academically by demonstrating the applicability of FTA as a structured root-cause analysis tool for project delays from a human resource management perspective, thereby extending delay analysis literature beyond conventional technical and descriptive approaches, particularly in the context of hospital construction projects.

Abstract

Cut Mutia Raya Road, located in East Bekasi, is a road that connects Bekasi City with Bekasi Regency and has a very important role in the development of Bekasi City and its surroundings. The high number of U-turn movements on this road section affects the performance of the road section, which causes disturbances for motorists both from the same direction and from the opposite direction and has the potential for traffic conflicts, in addition to congestion caused by the impact of the distance between the median opening facilities (U-turn). The aim of this study is to determine the characteristics of traffic flow on this road section using the PKJI-2023 method, get the performance value of the U-turn facility, and find out how much influence the U-turn facility has on the performance of the road section. The method used is by making direct observations in the field to obtain geometric data of road sections, traffic counting for the volume of vehicles on the road section, and those that turn back at the U-Turn facility to be further analyzed using the PKJI-2023 method and the 2005 U-Turn Planning Guidelines method. Based on the survey data in the field, the peak hour volume of vehicles on Wednesday, 13 November 2024, was 4.016 vehicles/hour (3.100 vcu/hour), with a Degree of Saturation (DJ) value of 0,74. The free flow speed is 55,2 km/h, and the MP passenger vehicle speed based on DJ is 46 km/h. The volume of vehicles making a U-turn at the U-turn is 731 vehicles/hour (406,6 vcu/hour). With a vehicle waiting time of 10,12s with a queue length of 3,12m and a delay of 12,04s.
