Abstract

ABSTRAKSesamum indicum L. adalah salah satu tanaman alternatif penghasil minyak nabati penting. Pendekatan pemuliaan melalui induksi mutasi berusaha untuk menghasilkan variabilitas baru populasi wijen, yang secara umum tersusun dari individu homozigot. Karakter morfologi berguna untuk mengidentifikasi galur dan memastikan hasil pemuliaan mutasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi keragaman morfologi wijen hasil mutasi berdasarkan 26 karakter kualitatif. Penggalian informasi dengan metode analisis kelompok juga dikaji untuk menggambarkan variabilitas genetik pada 57 galur mutan wijen (jenis hitam dan putih) generasi M4 dan M5. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua tahap: tahap pertama terdiri 18 galur generasi M4, dievaluasi pada Maret-Agustus 2015; tahap kedua terdiri atas 39 galur M5, ditanam pada November 2015 hingga April 2016. Pemeriksaan penampilan kualitatif mengikuti panduan descriptor list untuk wijen. Secara umum, penilaian representatif dari sifat kualitatif pada galur mutan wijen generasi M4 akan diikuti oleh keturunan generasi M5. Dendrogram dibangun untuk membedakan galur menjadi kelompok berdasarkan matriks tingkat kemiripan. Struktur populasi utama dari 57 galur berdasarkan sifat kualitatif dikategorikan dalam dua kelompok besar. Materi genotipe kelompok I diklasifikasikan menjadi dua sub-kelompok, terdiri 17 dan 31 galur. Sub-kelompok ini menjadi bagian distribusi genotipe terbesar. Kelompok II tersusun oleh 9 galur, mayoritas dari M4. Nilai korelasi antar karakter bervariasi antara 0,7176 hingga 1,0. Keragaman morfologi antar galur wijen dipengaruhi oleh sifat genetik dibandingkan faktor lingkungan. Studi ini membantu seleksi galur terpilih berdasarkan kestabilan fenotipe. Evaluasi keragaman struktur populasi wijen mutan bermanfaat untuk program pemuliaan.ABSTRACTDiversity of Sesame Mutants (Sesamum indicum L.) Based on Qualitative CharactersSesamum indicum L. is one of the alternative crops that produces vegetative oil. The plant breeding approach through mutation induction could produce new genetic variability in sesame populations, which are generally composed of homozygous individuals. The study aims were to determine the diversity of sesame-mutant lines based on 26 qualitative characters. Cluster analysis method was carried out to describe the genetic variability of 57 sesame mutant lines (consist of black and white types) 4th (M4) and 5th generations (M5). The study was done in two phases, the first phases consisted of 18 M4 lines planted in March-August 2015; the second phase consisted 39 M5 lines planted in November 2015 to April 2016. Analyses of qualitative morphological characters followed the descriptors list for sesame. In general, a representative assessment of qualitative traits in M4 lines will be followed by the offspring of M5. Dendrogram showed that the 57 mutant lines categorized into two major clusters. Cluster I were composed of two sub-clusters, consisting 17 and 31 lines. This sub-cluster was the largest part of the genotype distribution. Cluster II composed of 9 lines, where M4 were the majority. The correlation value between characters ranged from 0.7176 up to 1.0. Morphological diversity among lines were largely influenced by genetic rather than environmental factors. This study supports the selection of lines based on phenotype stability. Evaluation of the structural diversity of mutant-sesame populations could be applied in sesame-breeding programs.

Abstract

The Rice farming system has long been implemented by a typical top-down approach. The degree of creativity and autonomy of farmers has been determined by the continuous external inputs. The main challenge of rice breeding programs is to improve the quality of varieties to be developed in a specific environment and acceptable to the user community. The adoption of new varieties was limited because the breeding process has not taken into account the farmers' preferences. Another obstacle that often arises was that varieties are less adaptive in specific conditions. The variety's productivity depends on farmers' knowledge, facilities, and resource management. This paper explores the principles of participatory rice breeding and its application with a comprehensive approach that aims to encourage farmer empowerment in assembling superior varieties and providing seeds independently. Participatory breeding programs are offered as a solution in understanding the needs of sustainable agriculture. The farmers' involvement serves to capture preferences and selection of lines with high yield potential and were environmentally adaptive. Collaboration was carried out through testing the lines on farmers' land. Decentralization breeding also pays attention to the agroecological paradigm in the scale of the agricultural region. Implementation of agricultural region development serves to preserve sustainable agricultural resources and the environment. The farmers' active participation in the agricultural region has a positive impact on ecosystem sustainability, biodiversity, and environmental conservation for the future. Participatory rice breeding through integrated policies contributes to improving farmers' welfare and realizing environmental sustainability through agricultural region management.Key words: Rice, breeding, participatory, collaboration, varieties AbstrakSistem pertanian padi telah lama diterapkan dengan pendekatan top-down yang khas. Tingkat kreativitas dan otonomi petani ditentukan oleh input eksternal secara terus menerus. Tantangan utama program pemuliaan padi ialah meningkatkan kualitas varietas untuk dikembangkan di lingkungan khusus dan dapat diterima oleh masyarakat pengguna. Adopsi varietas baru terbatas karena proses pemuliaan belum memperhatikan preferensi petani. Kendala lain yang sering muncul yaitu varietas kurang adaptif pada lingkungan spesifik. Produktivitas varietas bergantung pada pengetahuan petani, fasilitas, dan pengelolaan sumber daya. Makalah ini menggali prinsip pemuliaan padi secara partisipatif dan penerapannya dengan pendekatan komprehensif yang bertujuan utuk mendorong pemberdayaan petani dalam perakitan varietas unggul dan penyediaan benih secara mandiri. Program pemuliaan partisipatif ditawarkan sebagai solusi dalam memahami kebutuhan pertanian berkelanjutan. Keterlibatan petani berfungsi untuk menjaring preferensi dan seleksi galur dengan potensi hasil tinggi dan adaptif lingkungan. Kolaborasi dilakukan melalui uji galur di lahan petani. Pemuliaan desentralisasi juga memperhatikan paradigma agroekologi dalam skala kawasan pertanian. Implementasi pembangunan kawasan pertanian berfungsi melestarikan sumber daya dan lingkungan pertanian berkelanjutan. Partisipasi aktif petani di kawasan pertanian berdampak positif terhadap kelestarian ekosistem, keanekaragaman hayati, dan konservasi lingkungan bagi masa depan. Pemuliaan padi partisipatif melalui kebijakan terintegrasi berkontribusi pada peningkatan kesejahteraan petani dan mewujudkan kelestarian lingkungan melalui pengelolaan kawasan pertanian.Kata kunci: Padi, pemuliaan, partisipatif, kolaborasi, varietas

Abstract

Kelapa sawit turunan SP540T telah banyak digunakan untuk tujuan pemuliaan maupun produksi komersial varietas unggul kelapa sawit. Oleh karena itu, konservasi sumber daya genetik SP540T sangat diperlukan, salah satunya melalui kultur jaringan yang dapat menghasilkan tanaman yang true to type. Media kultur jaringan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah modifikasi MS diantaranya media MS+110,5 mg/l 2,4-D, media MS+110,5 mg/l 2,4-D+karbon aktif, dan media MS modifikasi Protokol Kultur Jaringan PPKS sebagai pembanding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembentukan kalus primer dan sekunder terbaik teramati pada perlakuan MS+110,5 mg/l 2,4D+karbon aktif yaitu sebesar 13,00% dan berbeda nyata dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, media tersebut dapat digunakan untuk perbanyakan maupun konservasi sumber daya genetik SP540T.

Abstract

(Sesamum indicumL.) is one of important vegetableoil cropsin theworld. Indonesian local sesame cultivars in use today still have indeterminate growth types that cause simultaneous harvest, narrow adaptability and lower yield. Stage of the research is to see dynamics growth type of sesame due to environmental change and to find morphological and biochemical selection criteria of determinate growth cultivar. This study uses a factorial completely randomized design consisting of three replications. The first factor is six cultivars of sesame, two types of determinate growth type cultivar introduced from Turkey III Det 23, III Det 36 and four indeterminate growth type cultivars Sbr 3, Sbr 4, white local and black local. The second factor is six environments that combine various combinations of temperature and several concentrations of NaCl as salinity stress. The results showed that the environment combined heat stress temperature and salinity affect growth type of sesame. Heat stress makes longer vegetative phase and salinity stress causes black local genotype changed to determinate growth type. III det 23 and III det 36 were considered as stable determinate cultivar and best used as a parent crossing in sesame breeding program.

Abstract

Sesame is recognized as healthy potential oil crops because can be used to control several diseases. Sesame can grow properly in light soil structure such as sandy coastal soil, however sandy soil is considered as unfertile one and therefore environmental friendly fertilizer application based on dung manure must be studied. The research toinvestigate the influence of application times of mixed fertilizer on the growth sesame in quality growth in coastal sandy soil both at rainy and dry seasons, therefore the experiment directly to the sandy field at the sandy coastal area of Keburuhan, Purworejo, Central Java. From the first stage, it could be said that the application of mixed fertilizer between chicken manure and inorganic fertilizer increasing tochlorophyll content, net assimilation rate, root volume sesame both in rainy and dry seasons.

Abstract

Data konsentrasi Fe beras 10 genotip padi pada 4 lingkungan musim hujan tahun 2007 – 2008 dianalisismenggunakan metode GGE-biplot. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mempelajari pengaruh genotip, lingkungandan interaksi genotip lingkungan pada konsentrasi Fe beras. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan rancangan AcakKelompok Lengkap, tiga kali ulangan pada tiap lingkungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan lingkungan, genotipdan interaksinya berpengaruh nyata terhadap konsentrasi Fe beras. Lingkungan menjelaskan 66.55% dari variasitotal (G + E + GE), sedangkan G dan GE menjelaskan 10.07% dan 23.38%. Dua principal component (PC1 andPC2) digunakan untuk membuat grafik GGE-biplot, menjelaskan 74.10% dan 14.55% dari JK (jumlah Kuadrat)GGE. Genotepe G4 (Barumun) merupakan genotip ideal karena memiliki konsentrasi Fe beras tertinggi danpaling stabil. Lingkungan L4 (Cilongok) merupakan lingkungan terbaik karena paling representative mewakilisemua lingkungan dan paling kuat untuk membedakan genotip.Kata Kunci : Fe beras, genotip, lingkungan, interaksi, GGE-biplot ABSTRACTFe concentration in rice data of 10 genotypes tested across 4 paddy field environments during the 2007 –2008 wet season were analyzed using the GGE-biplot method. The objective of this study was to explore theeffect of genotype and genotype x environment interaction on the Fe rice concentration of 10 rice genotypes.Experiments were conducted using a randomized completely block design with three replications at 4environments. Results indicate that environment, genotype and genotype x environment interaction weresignificantly effect on Fe rice concentration. Environment explained 66.55% of total (G + E + GE) variation,whereas G and GE captured 10.07% and 23.38%, respectively. The first two principal components (PC1 andPC2) were used to create a two-dimensional GGE-biplot and explained 74.10% and 14.55% of GGE sum ofsquares. Abstract

This research aims to determine the Patron Client system of sago farmers' income in Merbau District, Meranti Islands Regency The population of this research was 89 people who did patron client to sago farmers, and the sample was taken using the census sample method, that is, all the people who carried out the patron client were sampled. The type of data used were primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques using interview techniques, questionnaire techniques, and documentation techniques. The analytical method used in this research is descriptive and quantitative using income formulas The results of this study illustrate the Patron Client System of Sago Farmers' Revenue in Merbau District, Kepulauan Meranti Regency. difference from Production Sectors. and the second system of Harvesting of this system is also different in each Toke in receiving purchases of crops by the owner of the sago plantation land, there are those who buy by way of the Petitioners and there are also Pertuals, with details of the costs purchased by each Toke vary. Based on the Patron Client, the income between the Sago Farmers and Toke Land Owners can be concluded that the size of the Land Ownership and Toke Income is in accordance with the size of the dependents of each Land Owner in his Toke Land. The dependents issued by the Land Owner are greater than the Toke dependents, so that the Income obtained by the Land Owner is smaller than the Toke income in Merbau Subdistrict, Kepulauan Meranti Regency.Keyword: Patron Client System, Sago Patani Revenue
