Abstract

The content of history materials should not be ignored in learning at elementary schools. However, in reality, history has always been regarded as a second-level lesson that is not very important. One of the causes is teachers’ ignorance of the educational values contained in the content of history materials. This study aimed to analyze history content in SD/MI thematic books. The object of this study was the 2013 curriculum integrated thematic book revised edition of 2017/2018. The method in this study was content analysis. The values found in the content of history materials at elementary schools included educational, instructive, recreational, and inspirational values. These values were contained in Theme 5 “My Hero” at grade IV, Theme 7 “Events in Life” at grade V, and Theme 3 “Figures and Inventions” at grade VI. In addition, several character values were also found including heroism, nationalism, cooperation, steadfastness, vigilance, and willingness to sacrifice for the sake of the people. This study demonstrated the benefits of studying history for students. The 2013 curriculum integrated thematic book was very suitable to be used as a medium in studying history material at elementary school.

Abstract

Background: Adolescent social media addiction has become a growing public health concern in Indonesia, particularly in semi-urban areas, and is linked to negative mental health and academic outcomes. Previous intervention studies often lacked rigorous control designs and contextual relevance, limiting their generalizability. Objective: This study evaluated the effectiveness of a structured Health Belief Model (HBM)–based “Smart Social Media” module in reducing social media addiction and improving knowledge among Indonesian adolescents. Methods: A quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design was conducted among 70 senior high school students in Sukoharjo, Indonesia. Participants were assigned to an intervention group (n = 35) or control group (n = 35). The intervention consisted of a single 45-minute session including an educational presentation, interactive HBM-based discussion with a Kahoot quiz, and completion of a social media diary worksheet. Social media addiction and knowledge were measured using a validated 20-item questionnaire (Cronbach’s α = 0.927). Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon signed-rank and Mann–Whitney U tests (α < 0.05). Results: The intervention group showed a significant increase in knowledge (median change +16.0, p < 0.001) and a significant reduction in social media addiction scores (median change −4.0, p < 0.001), with large effect sizes. The control group showed minimal changes. Between-group post-test differences were statistically significant for both outcomes. Conclusion: The HBM-based “Smart Social Media” module was effective in reducing social media addiction and improving knowledge among adolescents. Larger multi-site and longitudinal studies are recommended to assess sustained behavioral effects

This research will provide valuable insights for hospital management and nursing staff in designing more effective interventions to improve services provided and patient satisfaction. This study aims to determine the factors that influence patient satisfaction with nursing services in inpatient rooms at private hospitals in Surakarta. Method: This research uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The research sample consisted of 90 patients treated in inpatient wards who met the specified inclusion criteria. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire that measures the quality of nursing services and patient satisfaction. Data analysis was carried out using the multiple linear regression method to determine the influence of each variable on overall patient satisfaction. Results: Hospital nursing services in Surakarta have a significant effect on patient satisfaction with p<0.05, from the five dimensions, namely reliability, physical evidence, empathy, responsiveness, and assurance. All sizes have a significant effect (p<0.05) on the level of satisfaction. This occurs when patients have a good (fairly good) perception of hospital nursing services in Surakarta. Conclusion: The five dimensions of hospital nursing services in Surakarta, consisting of reliability, concrete evidence, empathy, responsiveness, and assurance, have a major impact on patient satisfaction in hospitals in Surakarta. Thus, it follows that patient satisfaction can be raised by hospitals providing high-quality nursing care.

Abstract

The rising prevalence of mental health issues among adolescents, particularly stress and anxiety, necessitates effective interventions within the school environment. This community service program aims to identify and reduce anxiety and stress levels among 325 students at SMK Muhammadiyah Kartasura. The methodology involved initial surveys, in-depth interviews, and coping skills-based interventions. Results indicated that the "normal stress" category improved from 90% to 93.3%, while mild to moderate anxiety levels were significantly suppressed from 8.2% to 2.7%. These findings confirm that integrated stress management interventions in schools effectively improve adolescent psychological well-being. This program recommends incorporating stress management into the school curriculum and fostering collaborative support between parents and the community to cultivate a mentally healthy educational environment.

Abstract

Drug abuse within the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the Indonesian National Police is a serious violation that impacts not only the personal honor of members, but also the stability of state security and the image of the institution. This action must be dealt with firmly in accordance with the provisions of the law, especially Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. The formulation of the problem in this study includes: (1) How is the law enforcement against drug abuse committed by members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces based on the Decision of Dilmil III-12 Surabaya and by members of the Indonesian National Police based on the legal process at the Malang Police; and (2) What are the obstacles in the process of law enforcement against drug abuse committed by members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the Indonesian National Police. This study uses an empirical legal method with an empirical juridical approach. The results of the study show that law enforcement within the Indonesian National Army is still based on Law Number 35 of 2009 and the Army Chief of Staff Telegram Letter Number ST/166/2020 dated January 20, 2020, which emphasizes strict sanctions without compromise. Meanwhile, the law enforcement process within the Indonesian National Police tends to provide room for consideration of lighter sanctions. Obstacles within the Indonesian National Armed Forces include internal factors such as a lack of legal socialization and a lack of integrated handling, as well as external factors such as limited infrastructure, geographical constraints, and individual character. Obstacles within the Indonesian National Police include internal factors such as weak legal awareness, violations of the code of ethics, and workload, while external factors include a lack of community participation, pressure on investigators, and environmental influences.

Abstract

This article examines the contribution of Arabic to Islamic studies by positioning Arabic not merely as a medium of communication, but as a theological, epistemological, and methodological foundation for understanding Islam. Using a descriptive qualitative design and library research, this study analyzes primary academic literature on Arabic, Qur'anic studies, hadith studies, fiqh, and uṣūl al-fiqh. The research findings demonstrate that Arabic is indispensable for accessing the primary sources of Islam—the Qur'an and the Sunnah—because core meanings are embedded in its grammatical, morphological, and rhetorical structures. Mastery of naḥw, ṣarf, and balāghah is crucial to avoid semantic reduction and interpretive distortion, especially in distinguishing ‘ām–khāṣṣ, ḥaqīqah–majāz, and amr–nahy, as well as in appreciating the i‘jāz lughawī of the Qur’an. This study also shows that Arabic functions as an epistemic framework that shapes Islamic concepts such as ‘ilm, ‘aql, ḥikmah, and fiqh, thus influencing the standards of authority and validity of knowledge.
