Abstract

Indonesian economic history after independence in 1945 to the post-New Order transitional government. Initially, the Indonesian economy experienced difficulties with fluctuating growth, a balance of payments deficit, and a State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) deficit that continued to grow. The New Order government, which began in 1966, tried to overcome these problems by focusing on economic and social development. Even though it succeeded in achieving high economic growth, the New Order's economic policies left behind several problems such as dependence on foreign capital. A transitional government emerged in 1998 after an economic and political crisis that began with riots in Jakarta. This government was initially expected to be an era of reform, but was later deemed not to provide significant changes. The proposed problem formulation includes the definition of foreign debt, the amount of debt from the Soeharto to Jokowi era, the relationship between the debt position and economic growth, the impact of the global financial crisis on the debt position Indonesia, and how the government pays foreign debt. The research objectives involve understanding the concept of foreign debt, comparing the amount of debt from presidents Soeharto to Jokowi, analyzing the relationship between debt position and economic growth, evaluating the impact of the global financial crisis on Indonesia's debt, as well as understanding debt repayment methods by the government.

Abstract

This research investigates the roles of savings and loan cooperatives (SLCs) and industrial clusters in supporting industrialization. SLCs, as member-based financial entities, provide crucial funding access for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and promote local economic empowerment through inclusive financial services. On the other hand, industrial clusters, characterized by a geographic concentration of related businesses and institutions, drive efficiency, innovation, and market development within the industrial sector. The study aims to analyze the interaction between SLCs and industrial clusters and their impacts on industrialization. Findings indicate that synergy between these entities can create an ecosystem that supports sustainable and inclusive industrial growth, enhances regional competitiveness, and improves the economic welfare of local communities. In conclusion, the synergistic cooperation between SLCs and industrial clusters holds significant potential to accelerate the industrialization process. Therefore, this research recommends support from governments, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to facilitate such collaboration for advancing the industrial sector and promoting sustainable economic development.

Abstract

Cooperatives in Indonesia, as a popular financial institution since the era of President Suharto, are defined by Law No. 25/1992 and Moh. Hatta. Cooperatives are business entities based on the principles of people's economy and the principle of kinship, as well as joint efforts to improve economic life through mutual assistance.Management, as a process of organizing the activities of individuals or groups, is crucial for achieving the goals of cooperatives. The definition of management includes planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. Experts such as G. Terry and Griffin define management as a dynamic and continuous process that incorporates these elements. Cooperative management, as formulated by Peter Davis, is a professional activity involving the management of the cooperative's values and assets by competent individuals, with the aim of empowering all its members. Cooperative management not only uses general management methods but also emphasizes member participation and involvement in decision-making, differing from the management of other organizations. Further discussion includes the functions and implementation of cooperative management, which consist of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. Each function is explained in detail, including the division of tasks within the cooperative organization, such as member meetings, management, and supervision. The cooperative management process involves identification and evaluation, formulation of strategic and tactical plans, as well as preventive and corrective supervision to ensure the cooperative's objectives are achieved effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the compressive strength conversion factor of various paving blocks shape to the standard test shape of paving blocks (SNI 03-0691-1996). The manufacture of paving blocks samples uses a ratio of 1:2:0.2 for cement, fine aggregate, and coarse aggregate. This study used a mixture of 15% fly ash as a partial replacement of cement. The shape of paving blocks were rectangular measuring 21x10.5x8 cm, hexagon with a side size of 11.5 cm and a thickness of 6 cm, and a bishop's hat measuring 30x21x8 cm. As for paving block specimens with standard shapes measuring 6x6x6 cm cubes for hexagons, and 8x8x8 cm cubes for rectangular shapes and bishop's hats. The compressive strength and water absorption of paving blocks were tested at the age of 28 days. In this study, the results of the compressive strength testing of paving blocks with standard shapes were higher than the compressive strength values of rectangular, hexagon, and bishop's hats. The amount of conversion factor obtained on paving blocks with 15% fly ash are 1.06, 1.32, and 1.13 for rectangular, hexagons, and bishop’s hats respectively. In addition, the average water absorption obtained on paving blocks with 15% fly ash are 2.92%, 2.79%, and 2.96% for rectangular, hexagons, and bishop’s hats respectively.
