Abstract

Strengthening literacy in secondary education is essential in responding to the demands of 21st-century learning. Teachers play a crucial role in integrating literacy into classroom practices; however, their understanding and skills in implementing literacy-based learning are often still limited. This community service program aims to enhance teachers’ competencies in developing literacy-based instruction at State Senior High School 5 Purworejo through a participatory and sustainable training and mentoring approach. The program involved 30 teachers and was conducted in three stages: preparation and planning, implementation, and mentoring and evaluation. The results show a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding of literacy, with the average score increasing from 62.4 to 84.7. A total of 87% of teachers were able to design literacy-based lesson plans effectively, while 73% successfully implemented them in classroom practice. Positive impacts were also observed among students, who became more active in discussions and more confident in expressing their ideas. Qualitatively, the program revealed a shift in teachers’ perspectives, where literacy is no longer seen as an additional activity but as an integral part of meaningful learning that fosters critical and reflective thinking. Overall, this program not only improved teachers’ technical competencies but also strengthened their professional awareness in creating more meaningful learning experiences. The mentoring process played a key role in supporting this transformation by providing a reflective and supportive space for continuous learning and growth.

Abstract

Abstrak  Pendahuluan:Antasida merupakan salah satu terapi tertua yang digunakan untuk meredakan gejala akibat peningkatan sekresi asam lambung, terutama pada gastritis dan dispepsia. Pemahaman mengenai sejarah, klasifikasi, mekanisme kerja, efektivitas, serta efek samping antasida terus berkembang seiring kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan. Tujuan:Artikel ini bertujuan meninjau secara sistematis peran antasida dalam terapi simptomatik gastritis, meliputi mekanisme kerja, efektivitas baik sebagai monoterapi maupun kombinasi, serta profil efek samping dan strategi pencegahannya. Hasil: Tinjauan menunjukkan bahwa antasida efektif menetralkan asam lambung, menurunkan aktivitas pepsin, dan meredakan gejala dengan onset cepat, meski durasi kerjanya singkat. Kombinasi dengan simetikon, alginat, atau oxethazaine terbukti meningkatkan efektivitas terhadap gejala kembung, refluks, dan nyeri epigastrium. Efek samping meliputi konstipasi (aluminium), diare (magnesium), hiperkalsemia dan batu ginjal (kalsium), serta sindrom susu-alkali akibat konsumsi berlebihan. Kesimpulan: Antasida tetap berperan penting sebagai terapi simptomatik gastritis berkat efektivitas, ketersediaan luas, dan profil keamanan yang baik. Namun, penggunaan jangka panjang perlu diawasi karena potensi efek samping dan keterbatasan durasi kerja, sehingga terapi harus disesuaikan dengan kondisi klinis pasien. Abstract

Kelainan payudara, khususnya kanker merupakan salah satu permasalahan kesehatan utama yang banyak dihadapi perempuan di seluruh dunia, termasuk di negara berkembang seperti Indonesia. Upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit ini dapat ditingkatkan melalui sosialisasi metode pemeriksaan payudara sendiri (SADARI). Jika dilakukan sesuai dengan prosedur yang benar, SADARI terbukti sederhana namun efektif sebagai langkah pencegahan sekunder terhadap kanker payudara. Kegiatan pengabdian ini memiliki tujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman mengenai metode SADARI kepada siswi Madrasah Aliyah di Pondok Pesantren Nurul Hakim, sehingga mereka mampu mengenali gejala atau tanda awal kelainan pada payudara secara lebih dini. Sebanyak 106 siswi terlibat dalam kegiatan tersebut, dan hasilnya menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman tentang metode SADARI. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan perbedaan rata-rata nilai evaluasi sebelum materi diberikan (pretest) sebesar 56,98 dan setelah penyampaian materi (posttest) sebesar 82,36 atau terjadi kenaikan nilai rata-rata sebesar 25,38. Program ini sekaligus mendukung usaha pengendalian kanker payudara di Kabupaten Lombok Barat, serta menjadi bentuk nyata pelaksanaan anjuran Menteri Kesehatan dalam rangka memperkuat langkah Komite Penanggulangan Kanker Nasional (KPKN) khususnya di wilayah Nusa Tenggara Barat.

Abstract

Lowland rice farming plays an important role in supporting food security; however, its sustainability faces various ecological, economic, and social challenges. This study aimed to analyze the characteristics of lowland rice farmers and evaluate the multidimensional sustainability status of lowland rice farming in Bangkinang District, Kampar Regency. The research was conducted in Bangkinang District Villages using a survey method involving 50 rice farmers selected through simple random sampling. Descriptive analysis was used to describe farmer characteristics, while sustainability analysis was carried out using the Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) method with the Rap-Paddy software. The results showed that rice farmers were predominantly 40-55 years old, had junior to senior high school education, possessed 10-20 years of farming experience, and managed land areas ranging from 0.26 to 0.50 ha. The multidimensional sustainability index of lowland rice farming was 54.18, indicating a moderately sustainable status. Partially, the ecological dimension scored 47.85 (less sustainable), the economic dimension scored 52.37 (moderately sustainable), and the social dimension scored 62.31 (moderately sustainable). Sensitive attributes affecting sustainability included pest and disease control, marketing structure, farm productivity, farmer regeneration, family participation, and the intensity of extension activities. Improvements in these attributes are necessary to enhance the sustainability of lowland rice farming in Bangkinang District.

Abstract

Arabic language learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) still faces various challenges, including the lack of learning media that is interesting and in accordance with the needs of students. This study aims to analyze the needs and problems in Arabic language learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) as a first step in the development of collaborative interactive e-modules FAL (Fun Arabic Learning). The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a preliminary study approach. Data were gathered through observations, interviews, and questionnaires administered to teachers and students. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was ensured through source and method triangulation. The results showed that students had difficulty in understanding Arabic vocabulary and sentence structure, low motivation to learn due to limited learning media, lack of collaborative activities to improve Arabic language skills. Teachers also experience obstacles in delivering material interactively and collaboratively.  Therefore, the development of collaborative interactive e-modules FAL (Fun Arabic Learning) is expected to be an innovative solution To enhance the efficiency and appeal of Arabic language learning in MI.

Abstract

The body electrical system of the Honda Supra Fit New 2006 supports lighting, signaling, charging, and riding safety. In vehicles with long service life, wiring and connection faults can reduce system reliability. This study aimed to analyze the condition of the body electrical system, diagnose the source of faults, conduct repairs, and evaluate system performance after repair. An experimental method was applied to one Honda Supra Fit New 2006 through visual inspection, circuit checks, multimeter measurements, replacement of damaged components, functional testing, and a road test. The initial inspection identified worn and peeled body wiring, several loose connections, a lamp socket deformed by heat, and non-functioning headlamp and brake lamp due to a short circuit. Repairs included replacing one complete body wiring set, the headlamp, and the brake lamp, followed by rearrangement and rechecking of the wiring connections. After repair, battery voltage was 12.6 V with the engine off and 13.9 V with the engine running. The headlamp, brake lamp, turn signals, horn, panel indicators, and grounding operated normally. These results show that systematic diagnosis and replacement of damaged components restored the tested body electrical functions.

Abstract

The lighting system of the Mazda MR90 is designed to support driving safety by making the vehicle visible to other road users and enabling the driver to observe surrounding road conditions. This study aims to analyze the working principle, identify faults, and carry out repairs on the main components of the Mazda MR90 lighting system. The study used a descriptive method with an observational approach through visual inspection, functional testing, and checking electrical current paths using a test pen at the Automotive Laboratory of Akademi Teknologi Bogor. The inspection covered the headlamps, rear lamps, turn signals, hazard lamps, reverse lamps, fuses, flasher, switches, relays, sockets, and wiring. The inspection found that the turn signals and hazard lamps did not blink, the reverse lamp did not light, and several wiring paths were damaged or disconnected. Repairs included replacing the flasher and reverse-lamp bulb and repairing and reconnecting damaged wiring. Post-repair testing showed that all repaired components returned to normal operation. These findings indicate that systematic diagnosis can identify faulty components and support targeted repair of a conventional vehicle lighting system.

Abstract

This study aims to construct a hypothetical design of a school-management-based character learning management model for elementary schools in Purworejo Regency. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach; however, this article is limited to the preliminary study, needs analysis, theoretical and philosophical review, and model-design construction. The study was conducted in three elementary schools in Purworejo Regency in April 2026 and involved 3 principals and 32 teachers. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed qualitatively through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The preliminary findings indicate that character values had been incorporated into school visions and missions, school programs, habituation activities, and classroom learning. Nevertheless, their management remained general, was not yet systematically integrated, and was not supported by a management design connecting planning, role distribution, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. Accordingly, the proposed design integrates school-based management principles with the management functions of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling (POAC). These managerial processes are directed toward value internalization through ngerti (knowing), ngrasa (feeling), and nglakoni (doing). The design positions principals, teachers, education personnel, parents, and the community as collaborative actors and uses feedback to support continuous improvement. The result of this study is a hypothetical model design and not a final model.

Abstract

Digital transformation requires teachers to be more confident in using technology, particularly in designing meaningful assessments for 21st-century learning. This community service program aimed to strengthen the digital literacy of English teachers at SMA Negeri 7 Purworejo through practical training in developing technology-based assessments that support Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and the 4C skills. The program used a participatory, hands-on approach involving workshops, technical training, mentoring, classroom implementation, and evaluation. Teachers were guided to use Google Forms, Quizizz, Kahoot, and Learning Management Systems to develop interactive assessment instruments suited to English language learning. Pre-tests, post-tests, assessment products, and participant feedback were used to evaluate the program. The activity is expected to improve teachers’ confidence and practical skills in designing and integrating digital assessments into classroom practice, while providing assessment products that can be further developed and used sustainably. Overall, the program offers a practical pathway for strengthening teachers’ digital capacity and encouraging more engaging English language assessment practices.
