Abstract

Heatsink is composed of square or circular-shaped base plates connected to fins on one side. Fluid flow within the heatsink typically occurs through natural convection, where colder air flows into the hotter fin region and exits through the fin tips. In this study, we conducted numerical simulations using Solidworks 2021-2022 Research Licence software to investigate three different heatsink models with distinct shapes, aiming to determine the most effective cooling rate. The thermal simulation results revealed that the heatsink design with square fins exhibited lower maximum temperatures, making it recommended for applications utilizing natural convection. Additionally, heat sinks with thinner fins have a larger surface area, accommodating more fins compared to thicker ones, which affects the heat transfer efficiency within the heat sink.

Abstract

This qualitative study focuses on occupational safety and health in vocational school machining workshops to identify significant risks related to training practices. Workplace accidents are considered a serious threat to workers and equipment, potentially affecting productivity and environmental safety. Observations at several vocational schools, especially at SMK Negeri 1 Batipuh, showed low student awareness and compliance with OHS regulations, increasing the risk of risky behaviour and accidents. To address this, the research used the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) method, which systematically identifies hazards, evaluates risks based on severity and likelihood, and proposes control measures. The research at SMK Negeri 1 Batipuh involved direct observation, interviews, and analysis of SOPs in the workshop, finding significant risk variations in workshop conditions, lathe operations, welding, material handling, hand tool use, and machine protection. The results highlighted the predominance of intermediate risks in all-hazards analyzed, emphasizing the importance of developing more effective risk management strategies. This research aims to reduce accidents and improve student safety during training by addressing existing OHS implementation gaps and implementing appropriate risk controls. In addition to filling a gap in the literature, this study provides practical insights for improving OHS practices in vocational schools.

Abstract

The front body design of the railway crane is flat or bluff type. The design causes a large drag, so the railway crane requires high fuel consumption to drive. Therefore, this study aims to modify the front body of the railway crane by applying the shape of the leading edge to reduce drag. This research also investigates the effect of leading-edge angles on aerodynamic characteristics. The method used is computational fluid dynamics, using the flow simulation feature of the Solidworks research licence software. This study considered three variations of leading edge angle (40°, 45° and 50°). The simulation results show that the larger the leading edge angle, the lower the drag coefficient value. In addition, the simulation shows that there is a high air pressure at the front of the railway crane with the bluff shape, while the modified railway crane with the leading edge applied has a lower air pressure at the front. Furthermore, the results and discussion in this article present the simulation results showing the velocity streamline and pressure contour of each model.

Abstract

Energy efficiency is a crucial aspect of energy saving efforts. Energy efficiency is an important factor in reducing energy consumption and environmental impacts. One of the important steps that can be taken in achieving energy efficiency is to conduct an energy audit. An energy audit is a systematic process to evaluate energy use in a building and identify energy saving opportunities that can be done. RETSCreen Expert is one of the software that can be used for energy audits. This research focuses on analyzing the comparison between manual calculations and calculations using RETScreen Expert software on building energy efficiency. The factors used to analyze energy efficiency are air conditioning systems, room lighting systems, and the use of other electronic devices, over a one-year period. The analysis results show that there are differences in calculations between the use of manual methods and RETScreen Expert. The difference between manual calculation and RETScreen Expert is 15.42%. With this difference, it is assumed that manual calculations and calculations using RETScreen Expert do not have too much difference. The results of the energy audit also show that the air conditioning system (HVAC) is a major contributor to the building's energy consumption.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai hasil nilai kekerasan dan kekuatan tarik dari coran pasir, dengan membandingkannya terhadap data standar dari penelitian terdahulu. Selain hal tersebut, penelitian ini juga melibatkan upaya mendaur ulang limbah aluminium yang tidak terpakai menjadi produk jadi, seperti komponen otomotif, contohnya footstep pada motor. Proses pencetakan footstep dilakukan melalui pengecoran menggunakan cetakan pasir yang terbuat dari campuran pasir silika, bentonite, air, limbah aluminium, dan menggunakan peralatan seperti pola berbentuk styrofoam, tungku pelebur, timbangan, dan kertas pasir. Pengujian melibatkan uji kekerasan dan uji tarik pada spesimen uji, dengan hasil yang kemudian dibandingkan dengan spesimen standar yang telah diuji pada penelitian sebelumnya. Nilai rata-rata spesimen uji kekerasan adalah 76,03 BHN, pada spesimen standar, nilai rata-rata uji kekerasan adalah 76,33 BHN. Pada uji tarik, juga dibandingkan dengan nilai standar uji tarik yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya, nilai rata-rata tensile strength spesimen uji tarik adalah 77,68 N/mm², pada spesimen standar, nilai rata-rata tensile strength uji tarik adalah 70,1758 N/mm². Setelah mendapatkan dan membandingkan antara spesimen uji dengan spesimen standar pada pengujian kekerasan dan tarik, dapat diketahui bahwa bahan yang digunakan layak digunakan untuk pijakan kaki pada motor. Serta dapat memanfaatkan kembali limbah aluinium yang sudah tak terpakai menjadi barang jadi, yaitu footstep motor.

Abstract

Penyimpanan barang farmasi dalam gudang industri farmasi merupakan aspek penting untuk memastikan kualitas barang tetap terjaga hingga sampai ke tangan konsumen. Pengkondisian udara adalah salah satu faktor kunci dalam penyimpanan ini. Penelitian ini menguji prinsip exhaust fan sebagai alternatif pengkondisian udara untuk penyimpanan obat, dengan menggunakan panel surya sebagai sumber energi listrik alternatif. Alat ini berfungsi sebagai alat pengkondisian udara yang berfungsi untuk menciptakan sirkulasi udara yang sejuk dan segar dari luar ruangan sehingga dapat mereduksi suhu dalam ruangan. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimental dengan pengambilan data langsung pada perangkat yang telah dirancang. Data diperoleh dari empat variasi pengkondisian udara dengan menggunakan cooling fan sebagai penggerak udara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan exhaust fan dengan bantuan panel surya mampu menghasilkan kondisi lingkungan yang sesuai untuk penyimpanan obat. Temperatur udara dalam ruangan exhaust fan terpantau dalam kisaran yang diinginkan dengan variasi suhu yang terukur lebih rendah daripada suhu lingkungan. Kelembapan udara juga terjaga dalam batas yang diinginkan. Efektivitas penggunaan panel surya dalam mengurangi konsumsi energi listrik pada exhaust fan juga terlihat, mengurangi dampak lingkungan dan biaya operasional. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan exhaust fan dengan bantuan panel surya merupakan solusi yang efektif untuk pengkondisian udara dalam penyimpanan barang farmasi, dengan hasil yang menjanjikan untuk menjaga kualitas barang serta mengurangi dampak lingkungan.

Abstract

Masih banyak siswa yang kesulitan dalam mencapai pembelajaran yang optimal pada mata pelajaran teknik pengelasan shield metal arc welding (SMAW). Selain itu, siswa juga kurang memahami bahan-bahan las busur, termasuk cara penggunaan alat dan cara penggunaannya. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan mengetahui bagaimana media pembelajaran virtual reality (VR) mempengaruhi pengaruh belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Teknik Pengelasan SMAW di Kelas XI SMK Negeri 5 Padang. Pengelasan VR digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan desain quasi eksperimen. Penelitian ini melibatkan 1 kelas penelitian dan 1 kelas pemantauan, dengan jumlah siswa di kelas penelitian sebanyak 33 siswa dan kelas pemantauan berjumlah 34 siswa. Untuk mengetahui kemampuan keterampilan siswa, pengumpulan informasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan evaluasi pretest dan posttest. Selain itu dilakukan uji prasyarat guna menguji homogenitas dan normalitas data perolehan belajar siswa. Hasil eksperimen mengindikasikan bahwa uji t memunculkan nilai signifikansi dua sisi sejumlah 0,007 makin rendah daripada 0,05. Rata-rata persentase kelas penelitian sejumlah 80,06 dan rata-rata persentase kelas pengawasan sejumlah 75,88. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa pemanfaatan media pembelajaran virtual mampu mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa kelas penelitian.

Abstract

ThThe community service program through the Student Community Service (KKN) in Luwuk Bunter Village, Cempaga District, East Kotawaringin Regency, focused on enhancing religious values among children. The main issue faced by the community was the lack of religious activities for children, such as Qur’an recitation and congregational prayers, due to limited teaching resources. The KKN team applied a participatory approach by involving children, community leaders, and mosque administrators in various religious activities. The methods included regular congregational worship, Qur’an literacy guidance, and mentoring in daily manners and ethics. The results of the program showed an increase in children’s participation in religious activities that were previously inactive, as well as the revitalization of the mosque’s role as a center for religious education. This program had a positive impact by fostering religious habits, motivating children to learn, and raising community awareness of the importance of instilling religious values from an early age.

Abstract

Vaccines are very susceptible to damage, so vaccine management requires special handling, this is done to maintain vaccine quality. The aim of this research is to find out the description and evaluate suitability vaccine management at the Karanganyar Regency Health Service (DKK) in 2022 based on Minister of Health Regulation No. 12 of 2017. This research is a qualitative descriptive non-experimental research. These research methods cross sectional by using approach, observation or data collection. The sampling technique uses accidental sampling by reviewing and evaluating vaccine management, which includes planning, procurement, receipt, storage, and distribution at the Karanganyar Health Service. The method used for data collection uses checklist suitability and in-depth interviews with the Head of Installation and pharmacy officers. Vaccine planning is adjusted to the usage index and needs in the previous year using a combined method system top to bottom and bottom up. Vaccine procurement is centralized at the Provincial Health Service, where requests are made by method bottom up. Receiving the vaccine is not immediate drop from the center/province, but the Karanganyar DKK takes the needed vaccines to the Provincial Health Service using the provisions for good drug distribution methods. Vaccine storage and distribution at DKK Karanganyar is in accordance with Minister of Health Regulation number 12 of 2017 and also in accordance with vaccine management guidelines from the Ministry of Health in 2021. Vaccines at DKK Karanganyar are in accordance with Minister of Health Regulation number 12 of 2017 and also in accordance with vaccine management guidelines from the Ministry of Health in 2021, both in planning, procurement, receipt, storage and distribution.

Abstract

Latar bekalang : Kentang merupakan tanaman sayuran yang berumur pendek yang mempunyai senyawa kimia yang terkandung didalamnya yakni aktivitas antioksidan seperti vitamin C dan flavonoid. aktivitas antioksidan mengandung flavonoid yang dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa pada darah yang mampu menghambat penyakit terjadinya diabetes.Tujuan : Ekstrak kulit dan daging kentang memiliki potensi terhadap antioksidan sebagai kandidat antidiabetesMetode : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental untuk menganalisa kandungan flavanoid pada ekstrak kulit kentang dan ekstrak daging kentang secara kualitaif dan kuantitatif. Identifikasi kandungan flavonoid secara kualitatif menggunakan  kromatografi lapis tipis dan kuantitatif menggunakan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis dengan pembanding sebagai kuersetinHasil : Hasil penelitian Kromatografi Lapis Tipis (KLT) pada ekstrak kulit dan daging kentang (Solanum tuberosum L.) mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder yaitu flavonoid dengan nilai Rf yang sama pembanding kuersetin yaitu Rf 0,68. Hasil pengujian Spektrofotometer UV-Vis diperoleh hasil total kadar flavonoid yang terkandung dalam ekstrak kulit kentang sebesar 91,33 µg qe/ml dan ekstrak daging kentang sebesar 41,33 µg qe/ml.Kesimpulan : Berdasarkan hasil pengujian KLT dan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis,  ekstrak kulit kentang memiliki kandungan flavonoid yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan ekstrak daging kentang yang dapat digunakan sebagai kandidat antioksidan sebagai pengobatan antidiabetes Kata kunci: : Kentang (Solanum tuberosum L)1, Kromatogafi Lapis Tipis 2, Spektrofotometri UV-Vis3
