Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of variety of learning models that cause students' critical thinking skills and learning outcomes to be still low. Therefore, the guided inquiry model assisted by E-LKPD is used as an alternative to facilitate the investigation process in a directed manner. This study aims to determine the effect of the guided inquiry learning model assisted by E-LKPD on students' critical thinking skills and learning outcomes in the respiratory system material of grade XI at SMA Negeri 17 Samarinda. This research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental type, using a non-equivalent control group design. Data collection techniques used pretest and posttest. The research sample consisted of 25 students per class. The experimental class used the guided inquiry model assisted by E-LKPD, while the control class used the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) model. The results of the t-test (independent sample t-test) showed sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 and tcount > ttable, namely 4.448 ˃ 2.010 for critical thinking skills, and 4.903 ˃ 2.010 for student learning outcomes. The results of the study indicate that the guided inquiry learning model assisted by E-LKPD has a significant effect on improving critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in the respiratory system material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Genially interactive media supported by the discovery learning model on students' cognitive learning outcomes in the nervous system. This research is motivated by the low level of student active engagement in learning, necessitating innovative media and learning models that support meaningful conceptual understanding. This study used a quasi-experimental method. The subjects consisted of an experimental class using Genially media supported by the discovery learning model and a control class using the expository model. The study was conducted on eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda on the nervous system. The research instrument was an essay test administered before and after the lesson. Data analysis included normality tests, homogeneity tests, hypothesis testing using the independent sample t-test, and N-gain calculations. The analysis results showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The hypothesis test revealed a significant difference between cognitive learning outcomes in the experimental and control classes. The improvement in cognitive learning outcomes in the experimental class was in the moderate category and higher than in the control class. Thus, Genially interactive media supported by the discovery learning model is effective in improving students' cognitive learning outcomes in the nervous system.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning model with a Concept map on students' biology learning outcomes. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population used in this study were students of class XI IPA at the SMA Budi Luhur Samarinda. The research sample was taken using the cluster random sampling technique. Data collection techniques of the research used observation and tests. Based on the results of data analysis, the -test with the PBL model on learning outcomes is 0.000 <0.05 it can be interpreted there is an influence of the PBL model with concept maps on biology learning outcomes. The results of the effectiveness of the N-Gain pretest and posttest of the PBL model on student learning outcomes in the control class were 0.47 with a medium category and the experimental class was 0.78 with a high category.. The results of the data analysis presented that students' collaboration increased to the high category (≥ 85.3%) with details of 85.7% indicators of collaborative attitude and character, 84.7% indicators of active collaborating behaviour, and 87.5% indicators of collaboration skills. Based on the t-test with the PBL model for collaboration skills is 0.000 <0.05 it can be interpreted there is an influence of the PBL model with concept maps on collaboration skills. These results arise because of the active role of students in the problem-based learning process so that it is possible for students to gain a more realistic learning experience and improve student learning outcomes as well as student collaboration skills, especially in Biology lessons.

Abstract

Online learning is extremely common during the Covid-19 pandemic. That sudden alteration, from offline to online learning affect the learning process including the perception of students and teachers using online learning platform. The aims of this study are to determine the students’ perceptions of class XI MIA on online biology learning by using Madrasah E-Learning at MAN Penajam Paser Utara. The data was collected by conducting the observations, interviews and questionnaires. The questionnaire was in Likert scale form that has been valid and reliable (ralpha= 0, 836) with a very strong category. The indicators that were studied include the indicators of student activity, indicators of student perceptions of Madrasah E-Learning and the indicators of factors that affect learning in network (online). Descriptive statistical techniques were the data analysis technique that was used in the form of descriptive, frequency distribution and percentage. The results showed that the activity based on the attendance and collection of student assignments during online biology learning was in the good category. Students' perceptions of Madrasah E-Learning are in very positive category with 63.89%. However, the use of Madrasah E-Learning is still not effective due to network constraints and the lack of teacher skills and knowledge regarding the use of Madrasah E-Learning features. The factors that influence learning in the network include learning support facilities such as cellphones and laptops, network factors and internet quotas, motivational factors, learning interest factors, family factors, home atmosphere factors, environmental factors, and economic factors
