Abstract

This research aims to determine the characteristics of slow-release fertilizer based on corncob biochar which is enriched with various nutrient sources (NPK, SP36, cow urine and Azotobacter). Research methods include making biochar through pyrolysis and nutrient impregnation. Fertilizer characterization includes analysis of nutrients, material fractions, biochar stability, and functional groups using spectra (FTIR). The results of the four analyzes carried out showed that the SRFbiochar+SP36+cow urine formulation provided the best results in retaining nutrients and water.  The nutrient content produced by SRFbiochar+SP36+cow urine, namely N(0.35%) P (0.63%), K (0.7%), Corganic (6.49%), volatile content (15%) strengthened by the ultimate results which show high nutrient content (C=10.09%, N=0.35%), which is explained by the formation of hydroxy functional groups (O-H) in tire 3444.87 and carboxy groups on the band 1635.64. These results indicate that the SRF-BiocharSP36+bovine urine formulation has the potential to be developed as a slow-release fertilizer to increase fertilization efficiency in dry land for sustainable soil fertility improvement.

Abstract

Pengelolaan lahan di Gunung Tolong, Kelurahan Lumpue, Kecamatan Bacukiki Barat, Kota Parepare, Sulawesi Selatan, yang merupakan lokasi rawan longsor dan banjir karena merupakan lahan miring dan berbatu, sehingga miskin air dan hara, padahal dimanfaatkan untuk berusahatani cabe. Solusi dari permasalahan ini adalah melakukan teknik budidaya cabe dengan konservasi lahan. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah melakukan mitigasi bencana di lahan kering, miring, dan rawan longsor, yang dijadilan sebagai lahan pertanian oleh petani. Tahapan kegiatan ini dimulai dengan memberi penyuluhan tentang teknik konservasi di lahan kering, kemudian dilakukan pemasangan lubang resapan biopori sebanyak 174 lubang yang meliputi 1.47 ha lahan. Untuk mengatasi masalah keterbatasan air, dibuat penampungan air ukuran 4x6 meter yang terbuat dari geo-membran sebanyak 9 titik. Metode yang digunakan berupa penyuluhan dan demontrasi plot. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah adanya peningkatan kesadaran dan pengetahuan anggota Kelompok Tani Mappasitujue yang mengelola kawasan tersebut untuk melakukan pengelolaan berbasis konservasi. Selain itu, kegiatan ini memberi aset investasi berupa ketersediaan air di dalam tanah dengan biopori dan di permukaan tanah dengan penampungan embung karet geomembran. Sehingga terjadi peningkatan kapasitas produksi cabe masyarakat. Kegiatan ini telah berkontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat, sesuai dengan tujuan Proram Kosabangsa.

Abstract

Tembakau lokal mempunyai peranan penting dalam industri rokok kretek di Indonesia, karena 80% rokok kretek dibuat dengan menggunakan tembakau lokal. Akan tetapi, di beberapa daerah kualitas tembakau lokal masih rendah yang disebabkan oleh pemupukan yang kurang efisien. Penggunaan pupuk lepas lambat dapat meningkatkan efisiensi penyerapan hara oleh tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penggunaan pupuk lepas lambat berbasis biochar SP36 (SRF-BiocharSP36) terhadap karakteristik morfologi tanaman tembakau. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah percobaan lapangan dengan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok untuk menguji perlakuan pupuk SRFbiochar SP36. Perlakuan yang diujikan yaitu SRFbiocharSP36 sebagai pupuk dasar, SRF-BiocharSP36, SRF-biocharSP36+urin Sapi dan SRF-BiocharSP36+urin sapi+Azotobacter terhadap karakter morfologi tembakau meliputi: tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, sudut daun bendera dan berat basah daun tembakau. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SRF-Biochar SP36 yang digunakan sebagai pupuk dasar memberikan hasil terbaik dan berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman (68,60 cm) dan diameter batang (19,39 mm). Selain itu, formula ini memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap jumlah daun (24 helai) dan berat basah daun (44,92 g). Dengan demikian, formulasi SRF-Biochar SP36 dapat digunakan sebagai pupuk dasar untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pemupukan sehingga dapat memaksimalkan produksi tembakau lokal.

Abstract

Peningkatan produktivitas jagung sangat dipengaruhi oleh karakter fisiologi seperti klorofil dan stomata daun. Hal ini sangat berkaitan dengan proses fotosintesis yang dipengaruhi oleh kandungan nitrogen dan air dalam tanah. Penelitin ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan pupuk slowrelase dari biochar tongkol jagung berbasis NPK terhadap karakter dan kolerasi fisiologi tanaman jagung. Metode penelitian merupakan percobaan lapangan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok untuk menguji empat jenis perlakuan, yakni Pupuk kimia (P0), pupuk slowrelase berbasis NPK (P1), pupuk slowrelase diperkaya urin sapi (P2) dan pupuk slowrelase diperkaya urin sapi dan bakteri (azotobacter dan basillus)(P3). Parameter yang diamati terhadap karakter fisiologi tanaman jagung, yakni Chlorofil content Indeks (CCI), kehijauan daun, jumlah stomata dan ukuran stomata serta korelasi antar karakteri fisiologi. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa pemberian pupuk slowrelase diperkaya urin sapi dan bakteri memberikan hasil terbaik pada CCI dan kehijauan daun yakni 44,64 dan 3,77 berbeda nyata hingga sangat nyata dengan pemberian pupuk kimia (16,27; 2,77). Untuk tindak adaptasi pemberian pupuk slowrelease diperkaya urin sapi dan bakteri mengurangi jumlah ukuran stomata dengan hasil yang lebih kecil (78,33) berbeda nyata dengan pemberian pupuk slowrelease pengkayaan bakteri (P0,P1 dan P2). Terdapat korelasi yang nyata antara CCI dan jumlah stomata terhadap kehijauan daun. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka penggunaan pupuk slowrelase yang diperkaya urin sapi dan bakteri menjadi strategi adaptif usaha tani jagung menghadapi perubahan iklim. Increasing corn productivity is strongly influenced by physiological characters such as chlorophyll and leaf stomata. This is closely related to the photosynthesis process which is influenced by the nitrogen and water content in the soil. This research aims to use slow-relase fertilizer from NPK-based corn cob biochar on the characteristics and physiological correlation of corn plants. The research method was a field experiment using a Randomized Block Design to test four types of treatment, namely chemical fertilizer (P0), NPK-based slowrelase fertilizer (P1), slowrelase fertilizer enriched with cow urine (P2) and slowrelase fertilizer enriched with cow urine and bacteria (azotobacter and bacillus )(P3). Observation parameters on the physiological characteristics of corn plants, namely Chlorophyll content Index (CCI), leaf greenness, number of stomata and stomata size as well as correlation between physiological characteristics. The results of the research found that the application of slowrelase fertilizer enriched with cow urine and bacteria gave the best results in CCI and leaf greenness, namely 44.64 and 3.77, significantly to very significantly different from the application of chemical fertilizer (16.27; 2.77). For adaptation, giving slow-release fertilizer enriched with cow urine and bacteria reduced the number of stomata sizes with smaller results (78.33), significantly different from giving slow-release fertilizer enriched with bacteria (PO, P1 and P2). There is a real correlation between CCI and the number of stomata on leaf greenness. Based on this, the use of slowrelase fertilizer enriched with cow urine and bacteria is an adaptive strategy for corn farming to face climate change.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pengurus Kelompok Tani Hutan (KTH) Lamperangan dan Kelompok Sadar Wisata (POKDARWIS) KABBAH dalam melakukan pencatatan usaha dan pembukuan dasar sebagai fondasi perencanaan dan pengembangan usaha yang lebih akuntabel dan berkelanjutan. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi kedua mitra adalah belum adanya sistem pembukuan yang terstruktur serta rendahnya pemahaman terkait fungsi dan teknik pencatatan keuangan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Kabba, Kecamatan Minasatene, Kabupaten Pangkajene dan Kepulauan dengan pendekatan pelatihan partisipatif, praktik langsung, serta pendampingan intensif pasca-pelatihan. Materi pelatihan mencakup pengenalan jenis-jenis pembukuan dasar, pencatatan pemasukan dan pengeluaran, serta penyusunan laporan sederhana. Format pembukuan disesuaikan dengan aktivitas mitra baik di bidang pertanian maupun pariwisata. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test, serta kemampuan peserta dalam mengisi format pembukuan secara mandiri. Pendampingan lanjutan juga mendorong perubahan perilaku dalam pengelolaan keuangan kelompok, dengan mulai diterapkannya sistem pencatatan rutin.Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap tata kelola organisasi mitra dan membuka peluang akses terhadap program pengembangan usaha dari pihak eksternal. Dengan demikian, pendampingan ini berkontribusi dalam memperkuat kelembagaan ekonomi komunitas berbasis pencatatan yang akuntabel dan transparan. Kata kunci: Buku KAS, pariwisata, usaha tani. ABSTRACT This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of the administrators of the Lamperangan Forest Farmers Group (KTH) and the KABBAH Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS) in conducting business records and basic bookkeeping as a foundation for more accountable and sustainable business planning and development. The main problems faced by both partners are the lack of a structured bookkeeping system and a low understanding of the functions and techniques of financial recording. This activity was carried out in Kabba Village, Minasatene District, Pangkajene and Kepulauan Regency with a participatory training approach, direct practice, and intensive post-training mentoring. The training materials included an introduction to basic bookkeeping types, recording income and expenses, and preparing simple reports. The bookkeeping format was adapted to the partners' activities in both agriculture and tourism. The implementation results showed an increase in participants' understanding based on the pre-test and post-test results, as well as the participants' ability to fill out the bookkeeping format independently. Follow-up mentoring also encouraged behavioral changes in group financial management, with the introduction of a routine record-keeping system. This activity had a positive impact on the governance of partner organizations and opened up opportunities for access to external business development programs. Thus, this mentoring contributed to strengthening community economic institutions based on accountable and transparent record-keeping. Keywords: Cash book, tourism, farming.

Abstract

Background: Kurangnya minat generasi muda di sektor pertanian disebabkan beberapa kendala, yaitu modal terbatas, dan tidak memiliki keterampilan bertani, dan lemahnya pengetahuan teknologi. Jika terus dibiarkan maka angkatan kerja pertanian adalah tenaga kerja usia tua. Hal tersebut akan berdampak pada ketimpangan produksi dan mengancam ketahanan pangan nasional. Kegiatan ini dilakukan untuk melatih dan memberdayakan generasi milenial untuk menghasilkan kompetensi dan daya saing melalui pelatihan teknologi budidaya pertanian. Metode: Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah Angkatan Muda Muhammadiyah (AMM) yang ada di Kota Parepare sebagai generasi muda yang potensi, dimana peserta terdiri dari perwakilan AMM meliputi Pemuda Muhammadiyah (10 orang), IPM (5 orang) dan IMM (5 orang). Metode yang digunakan meliputi pendidikan/penyuluhan dan pelatihan/demonstrasi teknologi sederhana dan tepat guna. Hasil: Hasil kegiatan telah memberikan pemahaman kepada peserta pentingnya inovasi dan adopsi teknologi dengan bahan sederhana dalam bertani untuk memudahkan pekerjaan serta murah dan efisien. Beberapa paket teknologi yang didemonstrasikan adalah pembuatan alat tanam benih, alat tabur pupuk, dan alat semprot tanpa tangki gendong. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan dapat membangun perubahan pemipikiran peserta untuk melakukan usaha tani dengen menerapkan teknologi sederhana melalui intensifikasi.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of biochar-based growing media on the growth of seedlings of three tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) varieties—Jinten, Paiton-2, and Perancak-95—cultivated in clay-textured soil. Clay soil poses challenges for plant growth due to poor drainage and limited aeration, which can hinder root development and nutrient absorption. To address these limitations, biochar is used as a soil amendment, known to improve soil structure, enhance water retention, and increase nutrient availability. The experiment was arranged in a factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two factors: tobacco varieties and seed soaking treatments (warm water, warm water with Azotobacter, and warm water with biohumic), each replicated three times. Observed parameters included plant height, leaf dimensions, stem diameter, root length and weight, and total fresh biomass. The results are expected to identify the tobacco variety that responds best to biochar treatment and provide recommendations for optimal seedling growth in marginal soils.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the physiological characteristics of seedlings from three national tobacco varieties (Jinten, Prancak 95, and Paiton 2) grown in biochar media under varying soaking treatments. Biochar, as a planting medium, has the potential to improve seedling quality and growth by increasing water retention capacity and soil nutrient availability. Seed soaking treatments were carried out using warm water, warm water + Azotobacter, and warm water + Biohumic to stimulate seed physiology. The Research employed a factorial Randomised Block Design (RBD) with two factors: variety and type of soaking, each repeated three times. The observed physiological parameters included the number of leaves, leaf length, plant height, leaf area, leaf colour, leaf area index, and total chlorophyll content, chlorophyll a, and chlorophyll b. The results showed that the combination of tobacco variety and soaking treatment significantly affected the physiological parameters of tobacco seedlings, both in vegetative growth and internal physiological content. The Prancak-95 variety (A2), treated with warm water + Azotobacter (D2), showed the best physiological performance in terms of plant height and leaf area. Meanwhile, the Jinten variety (A3) under the same soaking treatment showed the best leaf colour quality. In addition, the Paiton-2 variety (A1) with warm water soaking (D1) had the highest chlorophyll a content, indicating high photosynthetic activity. The combination of biochar media and biological soaking treatments effectively supported optimal seedling growth, as indicated by leaf morphology and chlorophyll content. This indicates that selecting superior varieties and appropriate soaking techniques plays a crucial role in enhancing seedling physiological efficiency and ensuring the success of sustainable tobacco cultivation.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of bioremediation using bio-fertilizers on the early growth of corn (Zea mays L.) in soil from former nickel mining sites. The study was conducted by observing soil characteristics and plant growth parameters, including soil texture, moisture content, cation exchange capacity (CEC), and macro nutrient content (N, P?O?, and K?O). Treatment L4P1 (location Sorowako with PGPR application) showed the best physical and chemical results, with the highest CEC value (40.65 cmol(+)/kg) and balanced macro nutrient content. Corn plant growth also showed a positive response to this treatment, indicated by the number of leaves (4.67), plant height (39.70 cm), leaf length (29.51 cm), as well as higher dry and wet weights compared to other treatments. Treatment P1 generally provided the most consistent and superior results compared to P2 and P3, demonstrating the effectiveness of the microbial formula in improving soil quality. degraded. In contrast, the L5 treatment showed the lowest results on almost all parameters. These results indicate that bioremediation with biofertilizers, particularly using PGPR (P1), has great potential in reclaiming former nickel mining soils and supporting food crop productivity on marginal lands

Abstract

Local tobacco has an important role in the kretek cigarette industry in Indonesia, because 80% of kretek cigarettes are made using local tobacco. The treatments tested were SRFbiocharSP36 as basic fertiliser, SRF-BiocharSP36, SRF-biocharSP36+Cow urine and SRF-BiocharSP36+Cow urine+Azotobacter on tobacco morphological characters, including: plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, flag leaf angle and wet weight of tobacco leaves. The Research found that SRF-BiocharSP36, used as a basic fertiliser, produced the best results and significantly affected plant height (68.60 cm) and stem diameter (19.39 mm). Apart from that, this formula gave the best results for the number of leaves (24) and the wet weight of leaves (44.92 g).
