Abstract

In today's rapidly growing creative industry, a strong visual identity is essential for a studio to survive and compete professionally. This study aims to redesign the visual identity of Konkou Studio, a creative studio that was once active in the fields of design and branding but faced various internal issues such as conflicting visions and the absence of a strong organizational structure. The design process was conducted qualitatively using an exploratory approach through brainstorming and visual testing. The tools used include Procreate for initial illustrations and Adobe Illustrator for vector based designs. The design outcomes include a new logo, color system, and typography, as well as their application across various promotional media such as business cards, social media, websites, and merchandise. The evaluation indicates that the new design reflects the studio's professional and creative character and can be consistently applied across various platforms. This research underscores the importance of a well-defined visual identity and effective internal team management in supporting the sustainability of a creative studio. Abstract

Stingless bees, also known as kelulut or klanceng (in local languages), are now widely cultivated in Indonesia. Stingless bees produce honey and propolis, which is the residue from honey extraction and is more abundant than honey itself. In this study, the processing of honey sacs or propolis into active ingredients for antibacterial ointments was optimized, specifically to address skin diseases caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus mutans. Propolis was extracted using aqua dest and 96% ethanol and optimized using three methods, namely sonication, maceration, and decoction, and antibacterial testing was carried out on S. aureus and S. mutans test bacteria. Antibacterial testing was carried out on the extracts using the diffusion method and the microdilution method. The results of the testing showed that propolis extract was most effectively extracted with water solvent, which had a bacterial inhibition concentration of 1,000–8,000 μg/mL. Water-based propolis extract can be used as a raw material for antibacterial ointments with a usage concentration of 5–15% and has been proven effective in inhibiting bacterial growth as observed using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).

Abstract

This research delves into the societal implications of fraudulent general election results in Indonesia, with a specific focus on the 2024 presidential election. Applying Systemic Functional Linguistics, the study examines the language use in elections, the repercussions of fraudulent activities on public trust, and the broader impact on Indonesian society. Through detailed data collection and analysis methods, the study uncovers linguistic patterns in fraudulent clauses, discourse strategies employed, and the manipulation of language to influence public sentiment. By identifying fraudulent clauses in news reports, the research sheds light on the intricate nature of election fraud and its historical context. The findings underscore the significant role of language in shaping perceptions and behaviors within the electoral system, emphasizing the need for valid data in understanding and addressing fraudulent practices. Ultimately, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of election fraud's complexities and its far-reaching consequences on Indonesian society.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the eco-religious tourism model in the Turgo-Merapi Tourism Village area which is part of the Gunung Merapi National Park (GMNP) in Indonesia. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative method to explore the implementation of ecotourism and religious tourism concepts in the Turgo-Merapi Tourism Village area. The data collected are primary and secondary. Primary data were collected through observation and interviews, secondary data were collected through document studies. The results of the study indicate that eco-religious tourism based on saujana is a model that is considered to be able to link tourism developments planned in local government policy (ecotourism) and developments occurring in the field (religious tourism) as well as accommodating the economic and conservation interests. Eco-religious tourism based on saujana model provides a broad idea that not only has a positive impact on environmental conservation, but also strengthens the social, cultural, and spiritual aspects of communities in areas that still practice religious values. This research is still limited to the southern side of GMNP which is located in Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Further research is needed with the same theme in Magelang Regency, Boyolali Regency, and Klaten Regency so that it can complete the results of this study.

Abstract

This study aims to identify five basic principles of ecotourism, namely conservation, education, recreation, economy, and community participation in Turgo-Merapi Tourism Village using qualitative methods. Primary data was obtained through uninvolved observation and semi-structured interviews with the community, tourism village managers, and actors of ecotourism activities in Turgo-Merapi Tourism Village. Secondary data was obtained from the study of relevant documents and data provided by the tourist village manager in the form of documentation of ecotourism activities. The results showed that the conservation principle was identified as the most dominant principle applied in almost all activities in Turgo-Merapi Tourism Village. The application of the principles of education, economy, recreation, and community participation still varies for each tourism activity. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve tourism education programs and economic empowerment based on local community participation. This study has limitations because it only identifies the basic principles of ecotourism as the results of the research. Further research should focus on examining the best strategies to strengthen the integration of conservation, economy, education, recreation, and community participation in the development of ecotourism-based tourism destinations. Thus, the development of ecotourism in Turgo-Merapi Tourism Village is expected to be sustainable and bring greater benefits to the community and the environment.

Abstract

Batik is a traditional textile work of art which was designated by UNESCO on 2 October 2009 as an intangible cultural heritage (representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity). This research aims to analyze the characteristics of Semarang batik based on cultural ecology, especially the Semarang icon category, the case study of this research is at IKM Batik Semarang 16. This research is qualitative research, in this research uses several theoretical approaches, namely a visual analysis approach with color theory and design principles for analyzing the visual elements in batik motifs. Apart from using a visual analysis approach with color theory and design principles, a cultural ecology approach will also be discussed to discuss the cultural ecological aspects found in batik motifs, especially in the Lawang Sewu Ngawang, Mberok Bridge, Tugu Muda Kekiteran Sulur, and Blekok Srondol motifs. The cultural ecology approach is used to understand the complex relationship between humans, culture and the environment in the context of batik production and use in the city of Semarang, Central Java. The results of this research show that the characteristics of batik work from IKM Batik Semarang 16 of the five motifs have bright, dominant colors. line elements, decorations do not experience too much composition, either distortion or stylization. The cultural ecology aspect of batik by IKM Batik Semarang 16 refers to certain themes and categories and represents Semarang from a natural, physical and socio-cultural perspective.

Abstract

Kebudayaan pada setiap daerah memiliki keunikan, kekhasan konsep, serta nilai yang mencerminkan identitas suatu daerah. Salah satu wilayah pesisir Kabupaten Batang. Berangkat dari kekayaan tradisi masyarakat pesisir, maka dapat dijadikan dasar pijakan dan sumber inspirasi untuk menciptakan karya seni lukis batik kontemporer. Tujuan proyek studi ini untuk membuat karya lukis batik dengan motif yang terinspirasi dari kebudayaan masyarakat pesisir di Kabupaten Batang. Proyek studi ini menghasilkan karya batik tulis bertema budaya pesisir. Tujuan proyek studi ini sebagai bentuk apresiasi dan kepedulian penulis terhadap budaya lokal. Katun dipilih sebagai media dalam membuat proyek studi ini. Teknik yang digunakan penulis antara lain: perpaduan teknik batik tulis dengan batik ikat celup. Pembuatan proyek studi dilakukan beberapa tahapan, antara lain pengamatan, gagasan berkarya, pengumpulan data, reduksi data, memahami karakter, pembuatan sket secara manual dan digital, mengaplikasikan sket pada media digital, dan finishing karya. Karya-karya yang dihadirkan dalam proyek studi ini terdiri atas sembilan karya berukuran 100 cm x 120 cm dan 60 cm x 150 cm antara lain yaitu: karya 1; Kliwonan, 2; Lomban Dayung, 3; Galangan Kapal, 4; Tambak, Kebon Melati, 5; Nelayan, 6; Anyam Jala, 7; Mepe Gereh, 8. Nyadran Laut, 9; Tari Babalu. Penulis berharap karya batik ini bermanfaat dan dapat menjadi inspirasi bagi orang lain

Abstract

Bau Nyale is a tradition of the Sasak people who live along the coast of southern Lombok, including Torok Aik Belek Beach. However, the role of Pokdarwis Patuh Angen at Torok Aik Belek Beach in the Bau Nyale tradition is less exposed. This study aims to identify the role of Pokdarwis Patuh Angen at Torok Aik Belek Beach in the Bau Nyale 2023 tradition. The results of this study show that in the 2023 Bau Nyale tradition, from before the event began until the event ended, the role of Pokdarwis Patuh Angen institutionally was minimal. This happened because the coordination of the Montong Ajan Village Government to cooperate with other stakeholders was still limited. In addition, the tight implementation time made the committee formed by appointment and made Pokdarwis Patuh Angen not involved because so far the performance of Pokdarwis Patuh Angen has not been seen. Based on this conclusion, the author suggests organizing the management of Pokdarwis Patuh Angen to be more active in the development of tourism around Torok Aik Belek Beach. Thus, in the future, the performance of Pokdarwis Patuh Angen can be seen so it is expected to be institutionally involved in the Bau Nyale tradition in the next years.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi visual siswa kelas VII MTs Nurul Islam Semarang dalam pembelajaran seni lukis bertema lingkungan. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil menunjukkan mayoritas siswa memiliki literasi visual kategori baik hingga sangat baik. Mereka mampu memahami bentuk, menafsirkan gagasan, serta berkomunikasi estetik melalui simbol visual seperti bumi, pohon, api, dan sampah plastik. Karya seni mencerminkan kreativitas, kritik sosial, serta pesan moral lingkungan. Kesimpulannya, literasi visual berperan penting dalam pengembangan kreativitas, berpikir kritis, dan kepedulian ekologis siswa.

Abstract

Padukuhan Jolosutro has three tourism potentials with different characteristics. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the zoning as the basis for the development of tourist areas in Padukuhan Jolosutro so that tourism development in this area can be more focused. The program implementation method used is the triangulation method. The result of the activity is a simple infographic about the zoning of tourism development in Padukuhan Jolosutro, namely the Pilgrimage Tourism Zone at the Sunan Geseng Tomb Complex, the Recreational Tourism Zone at Bukit Tinatar, and the Agro-tourism Zone in the community's farmland area. These three zones are expected to be used as the basis for the development of tourist areas in Padukuhan Jolosutro to be more focused by the theme of tourism as well as useful in making tour packages based on market segmentation.
