Abstract

Abstract

Damage to the electrical system of the Aciera F3 milling machine caused the main motor to fail to operate, disrupting practical activities at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic. This study aims to identify the root cause of the failure and carry out repairs using the Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) approach with the 5 Why technique. The research stages include data collection through technician interviews, visual inspections, and functional testing of the electrical system. The analysis revealed that the damage resulted from a short circuit in the C2 contactor, caused by component aging and the absence of routine inspections. Corrective action was taken by replacing the damaged contactor and auxiliary contact components. As a preventive measure, an electrical inspection checklist was developed to support scheduled maintenance. Post-repair testing showed that the electrical system functioned normally and the machine could operate according to standard specifications. The application of the RCFA method proved effective in resolving the problem comprehensively and laying the foundation for a reliability-based maintenance system.

Abstract

Sea leeches are the major ectoparasites that infect grouper fish. This study explores the antiparasitic potential of 76 plants in controlling sea leech. The plants were extracted using sterile seawater and used in the in vitro test 1 (initial screening), followed by in vitro test 2 and in vivo test 1 and 2. The in vivo test was carried out by soaking sea leeches in 1000 ppm herbal extractsfor two hours. The results of the in vitro test 1 found that 11 plants had antiparasitic potential (white pepper, black pepper, clove flowers, galangal, Javanese chili, black ginger, mangosteen peel, Manila sapodilla leaves, pomegranate leaves, brotowali leaves and brotowali stems). Based on initial test, the in vitro test 2 was conducted to determine the minimum concentration. The in vitro test 2 showed that the minimum concentration (500 ppm) was obtained from white pepper . The in vivo test was conducted using infected fish. The in vivo test 2 showed that nine (white pepper, black pepper, clove flowers, galangal, Javanese chili, mangosteen peel, Manila sapodilla leaves, pomegranate leaves, brotowali leaves) herbals were not able to release leeches but deadly to the fish. Meanwhile, the in vivo test 2 concluded that black ginger (Curcuma aeruginosa Roxb.) and brotowali leaves (Tinospora cordifolia) in sea water at a concentration of 1000 ppm were effective in releasing leeches within 10 minutes and non toxic to fish.

Abstract

This study explores local potential-based rural development in Saree Village, Aceh Besar District, Indonesia. Saree holds significant promise as an agrotourism destination rooted in conservation and education. The village is endowed with rich natural assets, including Pocut Meurah Intan Grand Forest Park, Mount Seulawah Agam and Seulawah Inong, and the Saree Elephant Training Center, all of which support the development of sustainable ecotourism. These advantages are complemented by the presence of an Agro Techno Park and an integrated farming system producing key commodities such as avocados, red chilies, and tomatoes. This qualitative descriptive research employed field observations, interviews with local stakeholders, and literature reviews to identify and analyze the village’s local potentials. The Business Model Canvas (BMC) was applied as an analytical framework to map out the integration of local resources into tourism-based economic development.  Economically, over 65% of Saree's population depends on the agricultural sector, supported by training institutions such as Agro Saree Aceh that promote sustainable and technology-based farming. Collaborative efforts among local communities, village-owned enterprises (BUMG), government agencies, and the private sector play a crucial role in shaping Saree as an educational tourism village. The findings indicate that local resources can be effectively transformed into community-based tourism products that generate income, enhance local capacity, and preserve environmental sustainability. Key success factors include digital marketing strategies, human resource development, and infrastructure improvement.

Abstract

The bottled drinking water (AMDK) industry involves various production activities that carry potential workplace hazards. The main problem is the risk of accidents that may affect worker safety, ranging from machine operation and material handling to ergonomic conditions. Therefore, this study applies the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) method to identify potential hazards and assess risk levels based on their likelihood and consequences. The analysis results show that most hazards fall into the low to medium category, such as slipping or chemical splashes, while several activities, including the use of hot press machines, heavy lifting, and non-ergonomic working positions, are classified as high risk. Based on these findings, the proposed solutions include strengthening supervision, providing regular occupational safety training, ensuring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and improving ergonomic aspects, so that worker safety can be better ensured.
