Abstract

The purpose of this research is to compare the quality culture of Islamic Education Institutions in Indonesia and in Thailand, specifically the UIN Jakarta Development Madrasah and Ma'had Al-Ulum Addiniyah Pohontanjong Narathiwat with the eight National Education Standards (SPN). This research method is descriptive-comparative with a qualitative approach. The results showed the characteristics of the quality culture of each Islamic Education Institution in Indonesia and in Thailand, in addition to the similarities in the management of these Educational Institutions such as, the characteristics of the quality culture of the UIN Jakarta Development Madrasah and the characteristics of the quality culture of Ma "had Al-Ulum Addiniyah Pohontanjong Narathiwat in Thailand. The similarity of the quality culture of the two institutions refers to the national curriculum set by the respective governments by strengthening the local curriculum according to the needs of each institution. The difference in the governance of these two institutions, shown in the UIN Jakarta Development Madrasah is managed by a foundation that is responsible to the State University, while Ma "had Al-Ulum Addiniyah Pohontanjong Narathiwat is managed by local community leaders. The development of a culture of quality in each Islamic educational institution is highly dependent on the leadership of the madrasah/ma "had as the "central" driver in managing the learning process and quality institutions that can improve the quality of education that is universal and competitive at the international level.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing trend of Indonesian people's interest in non-formal education in Indonesia. This trend of increasing public interest in the Kuttab model of Islamic Education needs to be maintained and continuously improved. This research aims to implement Total Quality Management at Kuttab Al-Fatih Islamic Education Institution. This research uses qualitative research, namely field research and literature research. The research informants comprised the head of Kuttab, Kuttab educators, Kuttab document observation, and Kuttab activity observation. The research findings show that the implementation of TQM at Kuttab Al-Fatih Islamic Education Institution is based on School Self Evaluation of 8 national education standards, which include components of Graduate Competency Standards, Process Standards, Assessment Standards, Graduate Competency Standards, Content Standards, Educational Facilities and Infrastructure Standards and Education Personnel adapted from the Al-Quran, Sunnah, and Siroh based on the ulama book. In addition, the management of Kuttab Al-Fatih Bogor has implemented TQM principles from 4 TQM Teachers, namely Demings, Sallis, Crosby, and Juran, although there are still some things that must be improved. In addition, some supporting and inhibiting factors for TQM implementation were also found.

Abstract

The skill of writing scientific articles is a reflection of the quality of a professional teacher. This community service activity was motivated by the lack of understanding and ability of teachers at Al-Hikmah Islamic Middle School in preparing scientific articles. Many teachers are still reluctant to publish research results on the grounds that they do not understand the guidelines for preparing scientific articles. This is what underlies the need to carry out this service activity with the aim of assisting teachers in compiling scientific articles so that later teachers can publish articles that have been written in journals or proceedings. Service activities were carried out at Al-Hikmah Islamic Middle School, South Jakarta. In this Community Service activity, the team provided counseling on writing and publishing scientific articles to improve teacher competency. The activity stages consist of preparation, implementation and evaluation. The preparation stage begins with a survey of partners to find out the problems faced by partners. The community service implementation stage is carried out online using the Zoom application to deliver outreach material. At the end of the stage, there is an evaluation of the activities carried out, it is hoped that there will be an increase in teacher knowledge and skills in writing and publishing scientific articles. The planned output target for this activity is to increase teachers' insight and skills in writing and publishing scientific articles. The output of community service will be published in the form of scientific articles in journals.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the quality of preparation, (2) the quality of implementation, and (three) the impact of students' learning on the implementation of PAI clump learning at MTs Arifah Gowa. This research is an assessment model used is Countenance Stake. The source of data in this study is the PAI clump subject teacher of MTs Arifah Gowa as many as 9 people. The research methods used are interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used means Miles and Huberman data analysis technique. The results showed that (1) the quality of learning planning for PAI subjects in the independent curriculum is categorized as good, (2) the application process and learning evaluation are categorized as good and (3) student learning outcomes in PAI subjects are categorized as good.

Abstract

The role of mosque custodians (marbot) is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and security of the mosque environment. Despite its importance, the social welfare of marbots is often suboptimal, particularly in terms of salary. This study explores the social welfare of marbots in managing mosque cleanliness, with a focus on salary, work facilities, and recognition of their contributions. The research was conducted at Ar-Rahman Grand Mosque in Sayurmatinggi Village using descriptive techniques and a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation in February 2024. Data triangulation was employed to ensure the reliability and validity of the findings. The results indicate that the social welfare of marbots in managing mosque cleanliness is still suboptimal, especially concerning salaries. The role of marbots extends beyond physical cleanliness to include significant social interactions with congregants, contributing to a positive atmosphere in the mosque. Enhancing the social welfare of marbots through better salaries, adequate work facilities, and recognition of their contributions is essential for increasing their motivation and commitment to maintaining mosque cleanliness

Abstract

The objective of this article is to examine how character education is viewed in Islamic Education. This study utilises qualitative methods, specifically library research. The data for this study is derived from written materials relevant to the topic. The findings indicate that character education and Islamic education are not in conflict, but rather complement each other in fostering societal growth and promoting a civilised community. The virtues promoted in character education, such as integrity, accountability, patriotism, compassion, peacefulness, acceptance, self-control, innovation, and more, are all encouraged in Islamic doctrine and are traits of individuals who have faith and reverence for Allah SWT.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of design-based STEM learning on students' scientific creativity in the context of solar energy. The study involved 64 tenth-grade students from a public Madrasah Aliyah in Jakarta, who were split into two groups: an experimental group that used design-based STEM learning and a control group that used conventional learning. Both groups were given a scientific creativity posttest in the form of seven open-ended questions. The study results showed that the experimental group's average scientific creativity score was higher than the control group's. Furthermore, the subdimensions analysis revealed that the experimental group's flexibility and originality significantly affected their scientific creativity. The study shows that design-based STEM learning positively impacts students' scientific creativity in the context of solar energy, although with a low category. This research can be a reference for future research to investigate the influence of design-based STEM learning on students' scientific creativity in various contexts.

Abstract

Perkembangan TIK yang sangat pesat sangat mempengaruhi kehidupan organisasi apapun termasuk pendidikan. Information Communication and Technology (ICT) atau dikenal Teknologi, Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) adalah salah satu proses pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan dalam mata pelajaran matematika. Geogebra adalah software matematika dinamis yang menggabungkan geometri, aljabar, dan kalkulus yang dapat digunakan sebagai alat bantu dalam pembelajaran matematika. Mitra dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah guru pada SMK Yapermas, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat.  Permasalahan yang ditemukan di SMK Yapermas adalah Geogebra adalah software matematika dinamis yang menggabungkan geometri, aljabar, dan kalkulus yang dapat digunakan sebagai alat bantu dalam pembelajaran matematika. Solusi dari permasalahan tersebut adalah memberikan sosialisasi dan pelatihan untuk menambah pengetahuan  guru tentang berbagai macam media pembelajaran berbasis TIK. Pada kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat kali ini tim memberikan pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi Geogebra sebagai media pembelajaran matematika. Tahapan kegiatan terdiri dari persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Tahapan persiapan diawali dengan survei ke mitra untuk mengetahui permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra dilanjutkan dengan perijinan dan pembuatan proposal. Menyiapkan alat dan bahan untuk pelaksanaan abdimas serta materi yang akan disampaikan. Tahap pelaksanaan abdimas dilakukan secara daring dengan aplikasi zoom untuk menyampaikan materi pelatihan dan demo penggunaan aplikasi Geogebra. Pada akhir tahapan adalah evaluasi dari kegiatan yang dilakukan peserta dalam menggunakan Geogebra. Hasil dari kegiatan ini meningkatnya wawasan dan kesadaran guru-guru di SMK Yapermas tentang peran media pembelajaran berbasis TIK, meningkatkannya keterampilan guru menggunakan Geogebra sebagai media pembelajaran.
