Abstract

The main problem in physics education among students is the lack of interest in learning due to monotonous teaching methods such as lectures. Lectures are often considered uninteresting and ineffective. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of a Thunkable-based application named Archio in increasing learning interest. The study uses the 4-D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) and was conducted at the end of 2023. The Define stage involved a survey to identify students' learning difficulties, which showed Archimedes' Law as the most difficult material. The Archio application was then designed (Design) and developed (Develop) with features such as learning materials, interactive simulations, quizzes, and reflections. At the Disseminate stage, the application was introduced through posters. The application received scores of 4.30 and 4.20 from expert and student validation results. The validation results indicated that the application is suitable for use with a very good category. The recommendation from this research is further development of the Archio application based on validator feedback to ensure its wider and smoother usage

Abstract

Physics learning often faces a lack of available learning media because it is difficult to obtain or the price is expensive, one example is the diffraction grating practicum. This research tries to improve the limitations of physics learning media, especially in diffraction grating practicum. The use of materials that are more affordable and easy to find, namely leek stems and CD (Compact Disk) as diffraction gratings is an innovative effort for teachers and students to overcome the lack of availability and expensive practical equipment. This research uses experimental methods and aims to compare the light-dark patterns produced by by the two types of grid, namely the leek stem grid and the CD grid. The results of the research show that the light-dark pattern formed from the CD grid has a clearer pattern than the leek stem grid. The distance between the dark and light patterns produced by the CD grid is(15±0,05)×10^(-2)m, while the value for the leek grid is (7±0,05)×10^(-2)m. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of CD chips grid are more efficiently than the use of grids on leek stems as gratings in diffraction grating practice. This innovation provides a concrete solution to the constraints of availability and cost of practical equipment. This allows teachers and students to conduct experiments with more affordable resources. This research not only demonstrates the efficiency of CDs as diffraction gratings, but also contributes to the development of more practical and economical physics learning methods.

Abstract

Abstract

Previous research only used one type of color, namely red. Then, researchers developed it by using three types of colors. In this research, we want to analyze the wavelengths produced by laser pointers of different colors, identify the distance between the grid and the screen, identify the distance between the central bright spot, and analyze the relationship between the lattice constant and the distance from the center of the light to the next light. The research method used was direct observation in the optics laboratory. The laser pointer was used as a monochromatic light source to produce a diffraction grating. Laser light sources have many colors, but we only use three colors, namely red, green and violet (purple). This experiment uses three different grating constants (????), namely a 100 slit/mm grating, a 300 slit/mm grating and a 600 slit/mm grating as well as the distance between the grating and the screen (????) (which are also different, namely 15 cm, 20 cm and 30 cm respectively). each grating constant. Based on the data that has been obtained, for red, violet and green laser light, for grating constants of 100 slits/mm, 300 slits/mm and 600 slits/mm produce the same wavelength and approaching the wavelength indicated on the laser, as well as the wavelength range of visible light.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the process of making a simple resonant pipe tool in organa pipe practicum. The purpose of writing this research is to analyze the effect of frequency on the speed of propagation of sound using paralon and prove the experiment on the speed of propagation of sound. This research is done by experiment, where the pipe is inserted in a container in the form of a bucket filled with water, and the audio generator application is placed on the pipe until it produces the biggest sound with a certain tone which is done by raising the position of the pipe. The results of this study are organa pipe practicum using simple tools carried out by trials and obtained data on the speed of propagation generated at frequencies of 1400 Hz, 2000 Hz and 2600 Hz sequentially by 350 m/s, 360 m/s and 364 m/s. The research gives the result that f ~ v and the results show that the sound propagation speed data is close to 340 m/s. So it can be concluded that the frequency with the speed of propagation of sound is directly proportional through a simple organa pipe experiment, and the resulting propagation speed of both frequencies of 1400 Hz, 2000 Hz, and 2600 Hz around the original propagation speed of 340 m/s. Therefore, this organa pipe props can be called accurate and can be easier to use for students.

Abstract

Cooking oil is a fundamental daily necessity, and both packaged and bulk oils are susceptible to structural changes and contamination that can influence the bias index. This research aims to analyze the purity of packaged and bulk cooking oil, investigate the relationship between the bias index and usage time, and identify factors influencing the bias index in both types of cooking oil using the diffraction grid method. The study revealed bias indices produced from packaged cooking oil before usage, after 10 minutes of usage, and after 15 minutes of usage, namely 5.08×108; 5.22×108 and 3.94×108, respectively. The bias indices from bulk cooking oil under the same conditions were 4.68×108; 3.61×108 and 3.37×108, respectively. Based on the research results, it is evident that packaged cooking oil exhibits a higher level of purity compared to bulk cooking oil. The relationship between the bias index and usage time is inversely proportional, indicating that the longer the cooking oil is used, the smaller the Refractive Index value becomes.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the comparison of standing wave results between waves on a guitar string and waves on a cord. The study is conducted through two separate experiments, focusing on understanding the relationship between wave velocity and tension on the string, understanding the relationship between wave propagation speed and mass per unit length on the string, and analyzing the comparison of standing wave results. The first experiment is focused on observing the changes that occur as the tension value on the string increases. Meanwhile, the second experiment is designed to observe the tight binding of the string’s mass and the propagation speed of sound waves. Standing waves, also known as standing waves, emerge as a result of interference between two waves with the same frequency and amplitude but different propagation directions. The amplitude peak occurs at the node, while the antinode indicates the minimum amplitude. Essentially, waves are generated from a string attached to a vibrator.

Abstract

The use of the Phyphox application proves to be highly beneficial in attaining precise experimental data by leveraging existing technology. This application is freely downloadable for both Android and iOS platforms. The research aims to compare resonance frequency values using human auditory perception and the Phyphox application. The study utilizes a transparent glass organ pipe with a length of 100 cm, conducting three repetitions for each obtained pitch. The selected menu on the Phyphox application is 'audio amplitude,' which displays the maximum sound intensity through numerical dB readings and a graphical representation. Phyphox serves as an auxiliary tool for determining the maximum noise value in open-closed organ pipes to identify the resonance frequency. It is crucial to use the Phyphox application in a noise-free environment, as even the slightest noise can influence the displayed maximum noise values on the application. The results indicate that the relative error value in the Phyphox application is smaller compared to human auditory perception, with 0.25% < 0.27%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the values obtained through the Phyphox application are more accurate with a minimal margin of error.
