Abstract

Laboratory experiments in schools often face challenges, including inadequate teacher training, limited equipment and materials, and dense teaching content. This research proposes an alternative approach by using readily available materials in the school environment. In the diffraction experiment, banana leaf stems were replaced by coconut fiber and a strand of hair as experimental media. Fraunhofer diffraction, the bending of waves behind a narrow slit, became the focus of this experiment. The primary objectives were to understand the process of diffraction grating, measure the differences in spreading between a strand of hair and coconut fiber, and analyze the variables involved. The experimental data showed that a strand of hair had the farthest distance to the central bright spot with an average of 1.23 meters. While successfully creating a diffraction grating pattern using makeshift tools and materials, the difficulty in measuring the distance between bright spots highlighted a critical note for future improvements. In conclusion, this experiment provides new insights into light diffraction using resources available in the school environment. However, further research expansion and improved measurement accuracy should be the focus to support the development of more effective laboratory methods in overcoming facility limitations in the school environment.

Abstract

This simple periscope is made as a tool to help students understand the concept of reflection from two flat mirrors, observe the process of forming an image of an object, and observe the process of reflecting light using a laser as a light source on simple periscope props. The first observation by using the periscope directly, the observation results obtained are that it produces right-left images of objects that are not reversed, the images also look upright and virtual. In addition, the size of the image is also the same as the original object. Based on the second observation, specifically observing the process of reflecting light with a laser, where in this second observation there were two reflections of light. The laser light fired at the first flat mirror is reflected straight to the second mirror, then reflected back straight from the second mirror to the outside at the same angle of 45°.

Abstract

A refractometer is a tool used to measure the refractive index of fluids. However, there are several issues, including the considerable cost involved and the fact that not all school laboratories have this tool. Therefore, we conducted a study to compare the accuracy of refractive index values using a hollow prism and a plan parallel prism. Among the various methods available today, refraction is a relatively simple and cost-effective method for determining the refractive index of fluids. In measuring the refractive index of fluids, the use of containers or vessels is essential. Following a review of existing studies, two commonly used types of vessels were identified: the cube-shaped vessel (plan parallel) and the hollow prism. This research aims to compare the refractive index results obtained using a hollow prism and a plan parallel prism, using two samples—namely, distilled water (aquades) and alcohol—which have predetermined values in the refractive index table. The results indicate that the refractive index value for aquades using a plan parallel prism is 0.97, while with a hollow prism, it is 1.33, where the true refractive index value is 1.33. For alcohol, the results using a plan parallel prism are 0.91, and with a hollow prism, it is 1.35, where the true refractive index value is 1.36. The conclusion drawn is that using a hollow prism yields refractive index values for both aquades and alcohol that closely approximate the true refractive index, compared to the use of a plan parallel prism.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan platform web Pemilihan Villa merupakan bergerak dibidang pemilihan Villa yang menyediakan tempat istirahat dan berlibur. Segala aktivitas di Villa mulai dari pengelolahan ketersediaan villa, pemasaran villa, lokasi villa, hingga transaksi sewa secara manual atau lewat aplikasi tersebut. SPK (Sistem Pendukung Keputusan) merupakan sistem informasi interaktif yang menyediakan informasi, pemilihan, dan pemanipulasian data untuk membantu pengambilan keputusan. Untuk memecahkan masalah yang kompleks dan tidak terstruktur ke dalam kelompok-kelompok dengan mengatur kelompok tersebut ke dalam hierarki, penulisan membangun sistem pemilihan villa berbasis web dengan metode Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara dan observasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan membantu dan memudahkan bagi para customer atau penyewa dalam mencari dan memilih menentukan yang sesuai dengan fasilitas, harga, lokasi, dan tipe.

Abstract

This study explores the effect of project-based learning (PBL) integrated with STEM on improving students' systemic thinking abilities. The study employed a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design as its research method. The population consisted of 244 students enrolled in the tenth grade during the odd semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, and participants involved in the study were 68 tenth-grade students from one of the Islamic Senior High Schools of the State in Jakarta. The experimental group used PjBL STEM, while the control class used 5E learning (engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation). The researcher developed a system thinking instrument adapted from Melinda based on pre-requirement, basic, intermediate, and coherent expert levels. In this study, data analysis used the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test and Wilcoxon test. The research findings indicate a significant improvement in the system thinking ability of the experimental group students, while the control group's system thinking ability did not improve significantly. The results showed that the effect of PjBL STEM improvement in the experimental class was 0.54 (effect size) on students' systems thinking ability but was still in the low category and did not improve either in the control class. In addition, the level of systems thinking increased in the expert category, while the intermediate level did not increase. This study can be a reference for further research investigating the effect of PjBL STEM on students' systems thinking in different contexts.

Abstract

This study explores the effect of PBL-STEM on students' systems thinking skills in global warming topics. This research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design. This study was conducted in one of the public high schools in South Tangerang. The participants involved were 72 students. In the experimental class, students learned with PBL-STEM, and the control group used conventional learning. The system thinking instrument was developed using 24 tested multiple-choice questions with a reliability of 0.83. The results showed that PBL-STEM significantly affected students' systems thinking skills (p < 0.05). The experimental class students' systems thinking was higher than the control class' systems thinking. Furthermore, systems thinking skills in the experimental class increased, but the highest value was at level 1 with the essential difficulty; in the control class levels 1 and 2, there was a more significant increase. This study can be continued for future research investigating the effect of PBL STEM on systems thinking skills in different contexts.

Abstract

Society 5.0 didefinisikan sebagai masyarakat yang berpusat pada manusia (human-centered) dimana kemajuan teknologi dan ekonomi digunakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah dengan menggunakan sebuah sistem yang mengintegrasikan ruang maya dan ruang fisik. Di era society 5.0 ini, ada banyak tantangan yang harus dihadapi dan perubahan yang harus dilakukan. Pendidikan di masa ini dituntut untuk menggunakan pengetahuan (knowledge) dan teknologi (technology) pada pembelajarannya dengan tujuan menghasilkan generasi yang memiliki keterampilan abad ke 21 yaitu kecakapan dalam berpikir secara kritis, komunikasi, kolaborasi dan kreatif. Salah satu perkembangan teknologi di era Society 5.0 adalah Kecerdasan Buatan atau Artificial Intelligence (AI) digunakan dalam membangun sistem yang dapat berpikir, membuat sistem, dan melakukan sesuatu seperti manusia. Artificial Intelligence akan dapat dimanfaatkan dalam berbagai bidang kehidupan, dan membantu memudahkan pekerjaan manusia. Mitra dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah guru pada SMP Negeri 2 Gunung Kaler Kabupaten Tangerang - Banten.  Permasalahan yang ditemukan pada mitra  adalah kurangnya pengetahuan dan kemampuan guru dalam memanfaatkan berbagai aplikasi Artificial Intelligence yang dapat membantu guru dalam merencanakan, melaksanakan dan mengevaluasi pembelajaran. Guru juga masih minim dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis AI. Solusi dari permasalahan tersebut adalah memberikan sosialisasi untuk menambah pengetahuan  guru tentang berbagai macam aplikasi berbasis AI yang dapat digunakan pada pembelajaran. Tahapan kegiatan terdiri dari persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Tahapan persiapan diawali dengan survei ke mitra untuk mengetahui permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra dilanjutkan dengan perijinan dan pembuatan proposal. Menyiapkan alat dan bahan untuk pelaksanaan abdimas serta materi yang akan disampaikan. Tahap pelaksanaan abdimas dilakukan secara daring dengan aplikasi zoom untuk menyampaikan materi sosialisasi pemanfaatan AI dalam Pendidikan di era Society 5.0..

Abstract

Tradisionalnya, proses pembelian ATK sering kali dilakukan secara manual dengan mengandalkan intuisi dan pengalaman dari pengambil keputusan. Namun, metode ini memiliki kekurangan, terutama dalam hal objektivitas dan konsistensi. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, diperlukan sebuah Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK) yang dapat membantu manajer atau tim pengadaan dalam menentukan pembelian ATK yang paling sesuai. Salah satu metode yang dapat diterapkan dalam SPK untuk pengambilan keputusan adalah metode Simple Additive Weighting (SAW). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat prioritas pembelian alat tulis kantor, melakukan analisis dan pengujian sistem serta untuk melakukan implementasi sistem pendukung keputusan pembelian alat tulis kantor menggunakan metode SAW. Hasil penelitian ini mampu memberikan keputusan dalam melakukan pembelian alat tulis kantor.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas strategi program peningkatan kinerja guru dalam profesionalisme guru di SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Terpadu Pekanbaru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui strategi program Baitul Arqam di SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Terpadu Pekanbaru,  dan capaian kegiatan program Baitul Arqam dalam meningkatkan komptensi guru yaitu kompetensi kepribadian dan kompetensi sosial.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan beberapa cara yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Lokasi penelitian di SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Terpadu Pekanbaru. Hasil penelitian ini adalah Program Baitul Arqam dilaksanakan dengan terencana dan matang dengan menentukan beberapa hal penting yaitu jumlah peserta, lokasi kegiatan, tim instruktur yang di mandat, materi yang akan dimasukkan dalam kegiatan, serta agenda selama kegiatan, dan waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan. Program Baitul Arqam memberikan dampak terhadap kompetensi kepribadian dan kompetensi sosial dan berdasarkan nilai pretes dan postes didapati adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta didik terhadap materi yang diberikan selama Program Baitul Arqam berlangsung.

Abstract

E-modules on temperature and heat material have been developed in several studies, but there are still problems. The problem is that it does not facilitate students to practice science literacy skills so it is still relatively low. This research aims to minimize these problems by developing e-modules based on socio-scientific issues to improve students' science literacy skills in temperature and heat materials. The method used is Research and Development with a 4D development design consisting of 4 main stages, namely: Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. This research is limited to the Develop stage. The e-module testing is feasible through validity, practicality, and effectiveness tests. The test results show that the e-module is suitable for use because it is categorized as valid, practical, and effective. E-modules are categorized as valid with the results of the assessment of excellent material experts, good media experts, and excellent linguists. E-modules are categorized as practical with the results of response questionnaires in small groups, field groups, and teachers showing positive evaluations. E-modules are categorized as moderate or effective in improving students' science literacy skills.
