Abstract

Menteng Raya Bintaro Road Section as one of the main corridors experiences similar problems with increased air pollution and noise due to transportation activities. This study aims to analyze traffic operational performance and examine the relationship between vehicle density and air quality (PM2.5) and noise level on Menteng Raya Bintaro Road Section. The research method uses a traffic performance analysis approach based on the 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI), with data collection through direct observation for three day) using a time interval of 15 minutes. Measurements include vehicle volume, PM2.5 concentration, and noise levels during peak traffic hours. The results of the study show that traffic performance on Menteng Raya Bintaro Road Section is still in normal condition with the highest volume of 3,036 vehicles/hour (Tuesday afternoon 17:15–18:15), degree of saturation (DJ) 0.57 (below the threshold of 0.85), and road capacity of 5,372.97 Vcu/Hour. However, environmental quality showed unhealthy conditions with the highest PM2.5 concentration reaching 91.67 μg/m³ (exceeding the 55 μg/m³ quality standard) on Tuesday and the highest noise level of 88.33 dB(A) (exceeding the 55 dB(A) quality standard for residential areas). Correlation analysis revealed a strong positive relationship between traffic density and PM2.5 concentrations, particularly on weekdays with values of R² = 0.6143 (Tuesday) and R² = 0.5843 (Thursday), suggesting 58-61% of air quality variations were explained by traffic activity. A similar relationship was identified at the highest correlation noise level on Tuesday (R² = 0.5113).

Abstract

Many countries have abundant natural resource but, on the other hand, also have the potential to experience land damage, which can result in natural catastrophes including landslides, floods, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions. Potential land damage can impact the destruction of public facilities and hamper development; socio-economic conditions will stop when land damage occurs. This research aims to find and analyze possible land damage caused by land movement in the Cipari Hamlet area, Garawastu Village. Compiling a map of potential soil damage is the main focus of research because it can help understand the spatial distribution and extent of damage. Apart from using qualitative methods, field observations were also conducted to determine the coordinates of residents' houses affected by land damage by ground movement. Primary information and secondary information are the two categories of data. Original data comprises damage coordinates, UTM GEOMaps software, location maps, ArcGIS software, and documentation. Secondary data consists of maps and data, rainfall data from 2013 to 2022, and explanations of the results from ArcGIS software. Cipari Hamlet, Garawastu Village, experienced high rainfall, 3500-4000 mm. The slope in Cipari Hamlet ranges from 0-140, which is very flat to steep hills. Risks with a low level of damage get 17 points, risks with a medium level of damage are 9 points, and risks with a high level of damage get 9 points. Damage in the Cipari hamlet did not occur due to landslides because the index value for the Cipari hamlet was at a moderate point.

Abstract

Cable-stayed bridges with box girders are essential innovations in civil engineering, especially for long-span structures. These bridges, reinforced with prestressed cables and box girders, are designed to handle significant loads but remain vulnerable to aerodynamic forces, particularly wind. The vulnerability is measured using the Pb parameter, as defined by the Ministry of Public Works (2015), which helps determine the windbreak structures needed for stability. This study analyzes the aerodynamic stability of bridge decks with widths of 8 m, 13 m, and 19 m on a 420 m bridge, featuring a 220 m main span and two 100 m side spans. The results reveal that the larger the deck width-to-span ratio, the higher the structure's natural frequency, which improves stability. The natural frequency values were recorded at 0.3 Hz for a 7 m deck (3.2%), 0.43 Hz for a 12 m deck (5.48%), and 0.53 Hz for an 18 m deck (8.2%). The most stable span ratio was found with the 18 m deck, with a Pb value of 0.04, showing minimal wind load effects. Moreover, a larger deck width enhances aerodynamic stability and extends the bridge’s service life by reducing damage risk from wind loads.
