Abstract

Salam (Syzygium polyanthum (Wight) Walp), belonging to the Myrtaceae family, are noted for their potential antibacterial properties targeting bacteria linked to gastrointestinal infections. This study aims to identify endophytic fungus isolates from bay leaves that produce antibacterial compounds effective against bacteria responsible for gastrointestinal infections, utilizing TLC-Bioautography as a method of analysis. The endophytic fungus from bay leaves was isolated, yielding 17 pure isolates. The findings from the antagonist test of pure isolates of endophytic fungus revealed two isolates with the most significant inhibitory zone diameters: IFSP-8 and IFSP-15. These isolates demonstrated effectiveness against Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Shigella dysenteriae, and Vibrio cholerae bacteria. The active isolate was then extracted by liquid-liquid extraction to obtain ethyl acetate extract for the IFSP-8 and IFSP-15 isolates. The antibacterial activity results of the ethyl acetate extract, analyzed through TLC-Bioautography with a chloroform: methanol (9:1) eluent, indicated the values of Rf1 0,76; Rf2 0,56; Rf3 0,47 for the IFSP-8 isolate. In contrast, the IFSP-15 isolate exhibited the values of Rf1 0,81; Rf2 0,69; Rf3 0,56, demonstrating inhibition of bacteria responsible for gastrointestinal infections.

Abstract

Oral infections caused by Streptococcus mutans and Porphyromonas gingivalis are common health problems. This in vitro study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial activity of Pandanus nut (Pandanus julianettii) with n-hexane and ethyl acetate fractions against these pathogens through agar diffusion assays. The n-hexane and ethyl acetate fractions were subjected to agar diffusion testing, with Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) values determined at 0.8% and 0.2% respectively against both bacterial strains. Subsequent Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) testing revealed values of 6.4-12.8% for n-hexane fraction and 3.2-6.4% for ethyl acetate fraction. In agar diffusion assays, the n-hexane fraction at 12.8% concentration produced inhibition zones of 15.54±0,20 mm on S. mutans and 15.46±0,35 mm on P. gingivalis. The ethyl acetate fraction showed significantly larger inhibition zones of 18.76±0,79 mm against S. mutans and 15.59±0,42 mm against P. gingivalis at the same concentration. These findings demonstrate that both n-hexane and ethyl acetate fractions of Pandanus nut possess substantial antibacterial activity against oral pathogens.

Abstract

Gastrointestinal infections are a major global health concern, often caused by pathogenic bacteria. This study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial activity of the ethanolic extract of Pandanus nut (Pandanus julianettii) against gastrointestinal pathogens using the agar diffusion method. The Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of the extract was determined to be 6.4% for Shigella dysenteriae, Salmonella typhi, and Escherichia coli, and 3.2% for Vibrio cholerae. The Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) for all tested bacteria was 12.8%. Antibacterial activity analysis revealed that at the 12.8% concentration, the largest inhibition zones were observed: 22.68 mm for Salmonella typhi, 22.20 mm for Shigella dysenteriae, 21.26 mm for Escherichia coli, and 20.80 mm for Vibrio cholerae. These findings indicate that the ethanolic extract of Pandanus julianettii possesses strong antibacterial properties and holds potential as a natural therapeutic agent for managing gastrointestinal infections.

Abstract

STEAM-PjBL is a learning model that integrates approaches STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) with project-based learning to solve real-world problems. This learning model theoretically has the potential to influence students' environmental awareness. Low student awareness of the environment is a problem that is still often found in the field. This study aims to determine the effect of the STEAM-PjBL learning model in improving students' environmental awareness in elementary schools. This research is an experimental research type with a Pre-Experimental Design. The research subjects were 16 sixth-grade students of SDN Jambe, Kapanewon Wonosari Gunungkidul in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The research design was One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, namely experimental research carried out on one group. Which measured before treatment (pretest) and after treatment (posttest). Data collection techniques used observation and questionnaires with a total of 20 question items. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential analysis techniques. The results of the study showed that the hypothesis test of students' concern for the environment using the dependent t test obtained a two-sided significance value of p <0.001, meaning there was a difference in the average value of students' environmental concern attitudes before and after the use of the STEAM-PjBL learning model. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that learning using the STEAM-PjBL model has a positive influence in increasing environmental concern attitudes for students at the elementary school level.

Abstract

SMKN 2 Teluk Kuantan has 4 (four) main lines of internet network. Of the four networks have their own configuration. Static routing applied in SMKN 2 Teluk kuantan for the four modems of the network has their own area, because it is not under one control of the modem to the Router. Static Routing in SMKN 2 Teluk Kuantan is very possible to be damaged or trouble itself on the network of each modem. Static routing problems are so complex in the form of routing information into the routing table that is set manually by the network administrator. Dynamic Routing is very possible to be implemented in SMKN 2 Teluk Kuantan. where dynamic routing has a basic routing algorithm of dynamic routing. Dynamic Routing enters routing information into the routing table through exchanging information with other routers and creates routing tables dynamically, on dynamic routing network administrators will not enter the entry route manually into the routing table. Routing Open Short Path First (OSPF) is a type of routing protocol that builds topology independently by choosing the best path then iji network quality if the best path is in interference and perform Quality of Service (QoS) against realtime data.

Abstract

Fire and Rescue Service is an agency to handles fire problems, i.e building fires. Fire and Rescue Service of Pekanbaru is an agency to handles fire problems in Pekanbaru where the service receives information about a fire incident quickly and responsively. Fire incidents can occur anywhere, in any location, both easy or difficult access, but the Firfighter Team must be prepared in every conditions. The problem is that not all fire incidents occur in easy access places by firefighters. The incidents sometimes occur in difficult places to reach and unknown location, firefighter have to use maps to find the location. It will be wasting time to find unknown location and took a long time to arrive. The solution of this problem is to build an android-based application that can be used as a fire incident report, which is connected in one application, so residents can report through an application automatically provides the coordinates of incident. The application of Ant Colony Optimization method in finding fire locations makes it easier to hasten in searching fire locations and can be used by the public in reporting fires to Fire and Rescue Service of Pekanbaru to be processed quickly.

Abstract

The need for drinking water now is not to boil water, but to buy it in the form of gallon bottles, which are available wherever it is sold, either at the refill of water or in the supermarket. In a housing estate with many heads of families, it is also difficult to find and obtain water in gallon bottles under certain conditions, and there is also the problem that there is only one brand of gallon bottles, which also makes it difficult to obtain. For this reason, the author provides a solution by creating a go-gallon application with the application of the A-Star (A*) algorithm to be able to detect the service takers of the nearest people, which is basically intended for residential environments, where with this application others can ask to find and purchase gallons and then deliver them to their homes. The A-Star algorithm is one of the distance search algorithms that has an optimal and complete ability to solve problems related to finding or determining a route with the least distance. The hope is that with this application, especially housewives, there is no need to worry when they run out of gallons of drinking water at home, enough with this application, these problems can be overcome.
