Abstract

This study investigates how risk management practices contribute to the stability of Islamic educational institutions, using Pesantren Hidayatul Fauzaniyyah as a case study. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research explores institutional efforts in managing operational, financial, human resource, and reputational risks. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis, with informants selected via purposive sampling. The findings reveal that risk identification is routinely conducted through internal meetings involving school leadership and educators, addressing challenges related to curriculum delivery, financial sustainability, and community engagement. Strategies implemented include the development of income-generating agricultural enterprises, standardized recruitment and training of teaching staff, and structured financial governance. These efforts have strengthened institutional resilience, enhanced educational quality, and fostered community trust. The study highlights the importance of formalizing risk management in pesantren contexts and adapting it to local cultural, religious, and economic settings. While the single-case design limits generalizability, the findings offer a practical framework for other Islamic educational institutions seeking sustainable governance models. Further research should explore comparative and longitudinal case studies to refine context-sensitive risk management approaches in Islamic education.

Abstract

Quality education is closely related to leaders. Leaders who have a vision, are creative, and innovative will be able to advance education in Indonesia. With the progress of education, the community will be satisfied with the needs needed. This study aims to determine the madrasah head's policy in achieving the vision, mission, and educational goals and to find visionary leadership in implementing the vision for the advancement of academic quality. To get good findings, researchers used a qualitative approach. Data collection was conducted using interviews, observation, and documentation. The research informants were the head of the madrasah, the deputy head of the madrasah, and several teachers. This study found that visionary leadership is implemented optimally. This can be seen as follows: 1) Formulating Vision. The formulation of this vision is based on the personal values of the madrasah head. The madrasah principal changed the vision of the madrasah to be more focused in the future by evaluating activities once a semester. Hold weekly meetings to listen to suggestions or complaints from teachers. The principal also makes short and long-term programs. That way the planned activities will run according to plan. 2) Implement the Vision. In implementing the vision, the madrasah principal does things such as giving birth to 5 madrasah principles 1) Faithful, 2) Order and discipline, 3) Ahlakul Karimah, 4) Ukhuwah Islamiyah, 5) Capable. In addition, in implementing

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of crop failure on education financing management at SMK Diponegoro 2 Rawalo, where students’ families rely heavily on agriculture. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through interviews with school stakeholders and direct observation. Results show that crop failure reduces families’ ability to pay tuition, increases requests for financial aid, and forces schools to implement strategies such as fee waivers, payment rescheduling, and cross-subsidies. These conditions necessitate stronger internal financial management and enhanced communication with parents. The findings highlight the need for adaptive education financing policies in agriculturally dependent regions. Such policies are essential to maintaining education continuity amid economic instability caused by environmental factors.

Abstract

This study aims to describe character education based on prophetic values through habituation activities at MI Ma’arif NU 1 Cilongok. The character education implemented in this school is grounded in three core prophetic values: transcendence, humanization, and liberation. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, direct observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that students’ character formation is carried out systematically through daily activities such as prayer recitation, congregational prayer, Qur’an memorization (murojaah), the 3S habit (smile, greet, salute), classroom cleaning duties, Friday donations, and reading prophetic stories. Transcendence is instilled through spiritual and worship practices; humanization through inclusive and respectful social interactions; and liberation through the development of social awareness and environmental concern. The program’s strengths lie in its consistent implementation and strong support from both teachers and parents. However, the study also identifies challenges, particularly the lack of a clear and measurable evaluation system (not yet based on SMART criteria), and the weak continuity of habituation between school and home. Therefore, strengthening the character assessment system, developing concrete indicators, and fostering closer collaboration between school and family are essential to ensure that prophetic value-based character education becomes more effective and sustainable.

Abstract

The institutional management of Islamic education, especially Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA), is a management process that involves planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising human resources and non-human resources in order to achieve Islamic education goals effectively and efficiently. One of them is Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah Al-Ikhlas, a non-formal institution that has its own foundation in Damsari Village, Paguyangan District, Brebes Regency. This study aims to describe the institutional management of Islamic education in the governance of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah Al-Ikhlas Damsari. This article uses qualitative research with data collection techniques in the form of documentation, interviews, and observations. The results of the study show that institutional management in Madrasah Al-Ikhlas is fully held by the head of the Madrasah because the head of the Madrasah is required to have various abilities, both in the fields of management and leadership style. In addition, the governance of the Al-Ihlas Madrasah itself is adjusted to follow government regulations regarding management in madrasah management, the madrasah curriculum system, management of teacher strategies in teaching, and management of madrasah facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum is a process of applying learning that focuses on flexibility in learning, and the active role of students as the center of learning activities, by integrating Islamic values, character building, and competencies comprehensively, by the principles of the Pancasila Student Profile. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in fikih education at the State Senior High School in Purbalingga, as well as to identify various challenges and strategies employed by teachers in adapting to the new learning approach. The research method used is qualitative, utilizing data collection techniques that include interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Data validity was tested using triangulation techniques. Based on the research results, it was found that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in fikih education has driven a shift in teaching approaches toward a more student-centered approach, with a focus on character development, understanding of material relevant to daily life, and increased active student participation in learning. However, limitations in resources and teachers' knowledge of the essence of the independent curriculum remain the main challenges. Therefore, ongoing training and strengthening the role of teachers as facilitators in adaptive and transformative fikih learning are necessary.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic character education through learning Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) at SDN (State Elementary School) Winduaji 01 with Kolb's experiential learning approach. The background is the decline in morality and social ethics of students, which shows that the internalization of Islamic moral values at the elementary school level has not been optimal. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed thematically. The results show that Islamic values such as amanah (responsibility), ta'awun (cooperation), shidq (honesty), and tawadhu' (humility) appear naturally in PJOK activities. These values are reinforced through teacher reflection and exemplary behavior. The experiential learning cycle is implemented through four stages: concrete experience, reflection, conceptualization, and active experimentation. However, value reflection and character evaluation have not been systematically implemented. This research shows that experiential learning is effective in shaping holistic Islamic character. Recommendations include the preparation of Islamic value-based lesson plans, affective assessment rubrics, and teacher training. Islamic-based PJOK learning is a strategic solution to form students who are physically healthy and spiritually superior in the context of Merdeka Curriculum and the Pancasila Student Profile.

Abstract

Financial management in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) often faces complex challenges, such as weak accountability systems and the potential for fund misuse. Therefore, technological innovation is needed to create more effective, efficient, and transparent financial governance. The CARDS application emerges as a solution—a digital financial management information system integrated within pesantren. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method at two pesantren: Az Zahra Al Gontory and Al-Qur’an Al Yusufiyah. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and document analysis involving administrators, application admins, developers, students, and student guardians. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, with validity tested through triangulation, member checks, and audit trails. The findings show that the CARDS application positively impacts pesantren financial management by improving the efficiency of record-keeping, accelerating reporting, simplifying daily financial control, and providing real-time data access. From the user perception perspective, the application is considered easy to use due to its simple interface design, practical operation, and minimal technical issues thanks to developer support. Overall, the implementation of this application supports the principles of Good Financial Governance by strengthening transparency, accountability, and active participation, thereby promoting a professional, modern, and digitally relevant financial management system in pesantren. Abstract

School Committees in Indonesia hold a strategic mandate to improve the quality of education; however, their concrete contributions in rural elementary schools remain insufficiently explored, particularly regarding the governance-practice gap. This study employed a qualitative case study approach at SD Negeri 01 Badak, utilizing participatory observation, in-depth interviews (with the principal, teachers, and the committee chair), and document analysis. The committee was actively involved in fundraising (e.g., graduation events), providing physical facilities (e.g., a prayer room and student chairs), and planning school programs. However, the oversight of program implementation was weak due to members’ limited understanding of their strategic roles and time constraints, which created disparities between resources and pedagogical needs. Optimizing school-community partnerships requires targeted capacity-building efforts and structured accountability mechanisms to bridge the gap between normative and practical aspects. This study reveals governance disparities within rural School Committees. It contributes to participatory management theory by demonstrating how local socio-cultural constraints, such as parental time poverty, shape decentralization in resource-limited areas.
