Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the extent to which the Think Pair and Share learning model can improve Mathematics learning outcomes about integers in grade IV students of Nasem Merauke Elementary School, (2) improve mastery of Mathematics learning materials for grade IV students of Nasem Merauke Elementary School, so that student learning outcomes can improve, and (3) reflect on oneself for the sake of improving teacher abilities. This study employed a quantitative approach. This study indicated that fourth-grade students at Inpres Nasem Merauke Elementary School show improved understanding of integers subsequent to the application of the Think Pair and Share instructional style. The proportion of students achieving the learning completion in each cycle, from 17 students (68.00%) in cycle I to 22 students (88.00%) in cycle II, signifying a beneficial impact. The proportion of students who failed to fulfill the prerequisites fell from 8 (32.0%) in cycle I to 3 (12.00%) in cycle II. The Think Pair and Share learning model benefits students by fostering creativity, sustaining their interest in the content, and mitigating the effects of boredom on their learning experience

Abstract

The teaching of science for fifth-grade students at Inpres Seringgu Elementary School, Merauke Regency is mostly teacher-centered, resulting in students’ inadequate comprehension and retention of the subject matter. This study aims to enhance science learning outcomes regarding Earth and the universe through a demonstrative methodology. This research was executed in two iterative cycles concentrating on the primary element of the hydrological cycle. Comprehension of the water cycle idea markedly enhanced student learning outcomes, evidenced by a rise in group success from 43.33% in cycle I to 83.66% in cycle II. Comprehending the water cycle model can enhance student involvement in scientific teaching for fifth-grade pupils at Inpres Seringgu Elementary School, Merauke Regency during the 2023/2024 academic year. The utilization of the water cycle model in knowledge acquisition is more efficacious for comprehending the concept of water in scientific education. This may boost students' creativity in developing and presenting water cycle models, hence increasing participation during teacher explanations and encouraging active learning. The observational data clearly demonstrate that learning outcomes have enhanced between cycles I and II

Abstract

The confusion in the independent curriculum started from the teachers' need to understand the learning outcomes set by the government. It also impacts their multiple interpretations of the preparation of learning tools and their embodiment in their respective classes. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the application of the independent curriculum in higher grades, especially in implementing the project-based learning model in Indonesian subjects. This research is a phenomenological qualitative research. The research subjects were selected based on purposive considerations. The selection of informants used knowledge and competency criteria related to the application of project-based learning to the prototype curriculum in driving schools in Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques used are observation and documentation. At the same time, the data analysis technique uses qualitative-interactive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the problem of implementing the independent curriculum in the upper grades of elementary schools is the problem of the flow of learning objectives that occurs in the adaptation of teachers from implementing the 2013 curriculum to an independent curriculum. Several problems in implementing the independent curriculum in Indonesian language learning in elementary school high grades, namely problems in aspects of the flow of learning objectives, problems in learning scenarios, and problems in student worksheets.

Abstract

Fractions are one of the materials that could be clearer to understand for students and prospective MI teacher students. Problems in understanding fractions often arise due to the need for more connection with everyday life. This research aims to develop ethnomathematics-based fractional number e-modules. This research type uses the ADDIE model, which is limited to the development stage. The subjects involved in this study were experts consisting of material experts and media experts, as well as twelve students in second-semester class A as small group test subjects. Data collection in the study was carried out through observation, interviews, and questionnaires with research instruments in the form of module validation sheets, response questionnaires, and test questions. The data obtained were then analyzed using qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results obtained from this development research are as follows: (1) the validity of the ethnomathematics-based fractional number e-module was declared valid with the results of the material expert review of 97.93% and the results of the media expert review of 96.66%, (2) the practicality of ethnomathematics-based fractional number e-module based on student responses is declared practical, namely with test results of 90.21% Based on these results, it can be concluded that the ethnomathematics-based fraction number e-module teaching materials developed are valid and practical qualifications.

Abstract

In the world of education, creating a learning environment that inspires and motivates students is an important task of a teacher. One way that can be used to achieve this goal is by utilizing learning media. This research aims to analyze students' pantun writing skills in a study Pre-Eksperimental Design by design One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This research process involves preparation, implementation and data analysis stages related to rhyme writing skills and student responses. The subjects of this research were 20 fifth grade students, who received special treatment using media Rolling Ball to measure the effectiveness of this media on the development of their pantun writing skills. The required data is collected through observation and tests. The results of data analysis using the methoddescriptive and inferential statistics. Pretest exam 0.07 and the posttest value of 0.28 is greater than the alpha value of 0.05, this shows that the pretest value and posttest data are normally distributed. The homogeneity test using the t test obtained a value of -8.529 with a 2-tailed sig of 0.000, greater than the alpha value of 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a difference in the average pretest and posttest rhyme writing skills after using media treatment Roling Ball.

Abstract

Low early reading skills in elementary school second-grade students are a major challenge in primary education because it has an impact on the development of advanced literacy. This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of interactive PowerPoint media to improve the beginning reading skills of elementary school second graders. This research is a research and development research that refers to the Borg and Gall model, with seven stages: research and information gathering, planning, initial product development, initial field trial, product revision, main field trial, and final product revision. The subjects in the initial field trial consisted of three students and one teacher, while the main field trial involved twelve students and one teacher. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and questionnaires, with quantitative data analysis. The validation results from the material experts showed an average score of 4.81 and from the media expert of 4.625. The initial field trial obtained a score of 4.93 from the teacher and 4.78 from the student, while the main field trial obtained a score of 4.93 from the teacher and 4.86 from the student. The interactive PowerPoint media developed is considered suitable for use in early reading learning, with the advantages of attractive visuals, simple text, interactive animations, and evaluative quizzes that increase student engagement. The conclusion of this study states that the media developed meets the standards of validity and feasibility without the need for further revision. The implication is that interactive PowerPoint can be an innovative alternative in basic literacy learning that is adaptive, interesting, and supports the implementation of the technology-based Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

Low student motivation and monotonous teaching methods cause integrated thematic learning outcomes to be less than optimal. This study explores the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to improve the learning outcomes of grade V students in integrated thematic learning. This study used a quasi-experimental design involving purposively selected participants who were divided into experimental groups taught using PBL and control groups taught conventionally. Data were collected through pretest, posttest, and observation sheet, then analyzed using comparative statistical techniques. The results showed a significant increase in the average score of the experimental group, from 76.7 to 88.33, as well as increased student engagement in the learning process. The study concluded that the PBL model was effective in improving students' understanding, critical thinking ability, and collaboration skills. The findings confirm the potential of PBL as a student-centered learning strategy capable of encouraging active participation and deeper cognitive engagement. This study recommends the wider application of PBL at the basic education level as an effort to improve the quality of learning and develop 21st century competencies.
