Abstract

In the Province of West Nusa Tenggara, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the manufacturing sector contribute 3.76 percent to the Regional Gross Domestic Product (RGDP) and absorb 10.11 percent of the workforce. Their strategic role as a foundation of local and national economic activity highlights the need to strengthen their capacity, particularly amid ongoing digital transformation. This study analyzes the competency levels of Small and Medium Industry (SMI) actors in Mataram City in the context of the smart economy, which requires adequate capabilities in technology adoption, operational (entrepreneurial) capacity, and business connectivity. A mixed-method approach with a convergent parallel design was employed, involving 43 SMI respondents. The research instrument consisted of four constructs: Technology & Innovation Adoption (3 items, α=0.671), Operational Capacity (3 items, α=0.434), Product Image (1 item), and Business Connectivity (3 items, α=0.706). The findings show that most SMI actors are women of productive age, hold undergraduate degrees, operate small-scale businesses, and rely on personal capital, with monthly capital and turnover generally below IDR 50 million. Results indicate that 93.0% of SMIs exhibit high technological adoption (M=3.71), 72.1% demonstrate adequate operational capacity (M=3.15), and all respondents report positive product image (M=3.98). However, only 11.6% achieve high business connectivity (M=2.10), making it the weakest dimension. Correlation analysis reveals significant relationships between Operational Capacity and Business Connectivity (r=0.489, p<0.001), and between Technology Adoption and Business Connectivity (r=0.373, p<0.05). Senior entrepreneurs (>45 years) display the highest business connectivity, while younger entrepreneurs (26–35 years) lead in technology adoption. Policy recommendations emphasize enhancing digital connectivity, building collaborative ecosystems, and utilizing senior entrepreneurs as mentors.

Abstract

The waste problem is a problem that plagues the world. Various programs and methods have been carried out in processing waste. Until now, Bali has become the area with the most waste production in Indonesia, where every day the waste produced reaches 4,281 tons or in other words 1.5 million tons per year. In early 2021, a campaign on the separation of organic and non-organic waste has been initiated in several districts/cities in the province of Bali. The next problem is that people do not know how to process organic waste other than being compost for plants. Black Soldier Fly (BSF) or black soldier fly is an order of diptera whose physical characteristics are similar to wasps. BSF itself has an average life cycle from egg to adult of 45 days. Where the main consumption of BSF itself is organic waste. In Pelaga village, Petang sub-district, Badung district, there is an effort to breed BSF. Where in this effort, it can produce no less than 100 kg of BSF larvae within 15-20 days. The problems encountered by these entrepreneurs are often difficult to predict the amount of BSF larvae production, because around the area there are quite a lot of catfish and chicken farmers who need BSF larvae as feed. The use of linear regression method can overcome these problems. The results obtained between the application of this method include the accuracy value which reaches 62.5% for prediction of sales and 32.5% for prediction of production.

Abstract

Simpodial Bali Bambu is a company that uses laminated bamboo as a furniture base. The company is located in Banjar Dinas Bengkel, West Selemadeg, Tabanan Regency, Bali. Through previous research, this effort uses a lamination technique to avoid powder lice, which is the main enemy of bamboo. Laminate itself is a transparent layer and is useful for protecting bamboo so that it is resistant to water, dust mites, and sunlight. A number of products that have been made by this business include chairs, tables and parquet from laminated bamboo. However, this company has problems selling its products. In addition, the management of financial transactions related to the company is still not structured so that the company's profit and loss is not clear. This community service activity aims to overcome partner problems, namely by providing a website as a promotional and educational media about laminated bamboo, providing website management training, and providing training to manage company finances using Microsoft Excel. Monitoring is done by monitoring the development of traffic on the website. Based on the evaluation results, this activity has a satisfaction index of 80.81% with a very good interpretation of the results.

Abstract

Smallholder farmers in Indonesia often face limited market access, weak bargaining power, high transaction costs, and reliance on middlemen. Collective action has been promoted as a strategy to address these constraints; nevertheless, the specific gains farmers receive from collective action in agricultural marketing remain dispersed across different studies. This article aims to review what Indonesian farmers gain from collective action in agricultural marketing. Using a narrative literature review, this study synthesizes Scopus-indexed publications on farmer groups, cooperatives, collective marketing, and related institutional arrangements in Indonesian agriculture. The findings show that collective action provides farmers with numerous advantages, including improved market access, stronger bargaining power, reduced dependence on middlemen, better knowledge sharing, and institutional strengthening. However, these gains are hindered by weak governance, limited managerial capacity, poor communication, elite domination, digital gaps, and insufficient institutional support. The review suggests that collective action should be strengthened not only as an organizational model, but also as a farmer-centered marketing strategy supported by good governance, digital access, direct market linkages, and inclusive participation.
