Employing a qualitative case study methodology, interviews were conducted with key stakeholders, including Kyai, Ustadz, and Madrasah Heads, to gather insights into their strategic management approaches. The findings indicated that Kyai plays a pivotal role in institutional growth through systematic strategic planning, which includes conducting SWOT analyses, developing strategic documents, and ensuring structured implementation. The study highlighted how effective leadership and strategic planning are crucial in driving institutional transformation and sustainability in resource-constrained settings, demonstrating the dynamic adaptation of traditional educational models to modern educational demands. The implications of this research suggest that adapting traditional educational frameworks to contemporary management practices enhances institutional capabilities to navigate modern educational and socio-economic challenges, providing a model for similar educational institutions in resource-limited settings.

Abstract

This study aims to implement the Ummi Method in Qur'anic reading (Tahsin) to enhance the teaching skills of Al-Qur'an teachers. The research employs the Action-Based Collaborative Development (ABCD) approach, which involves four stages: needs analysis, model development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the study indicate that the Ummi Method significantly improves teachers' ability to manage classrooms effectively, as well as their skills in teaching Qur'anic reading with correct Tajweed and Makharij. Furthermore, students demonstrated improved fluency in reading the Qur'an and a better understanding of Tajweed rules. However, challenges such as limited resources, time constraints, and an insufficient number of teachers were identified as factors hindering the optimal implementation of the method. The study concludes that continuous training for teachers, improved facilities, and better time management are necessary for maximizing the effectiveness of the Ummi Method in Qur'anic education

Abstract

This paper proposes a Participatory Action Research (PAR) framework to enhance learning support in Islamic boarding schools post-COVID-19. The framework consists of five stages: problem identification, planning, action, reflection, and evaluation, and is designed to ensure the involvement and engagement of all stakeholders in decision-making. The PAR approach was implemented in three pesantrens in East Java, Indonesia, involving 45 teachers, 90 students, and 60 parents. The results showed that the PAR approach enabled active participation and collaboration among stakeholders, leading to the identification of key challenges, development of an action plan, and implementation of various interventions. The reflection and evaluation stages allowed for continuous feedback and improvement, resulting in positive outcomes such as increased student engagement, improved teacher performance, and strengthened parent-school relationships. The findings suggest that the PAR approach can effectively enhance learning support in Islamic boarding schools post-COVID-19 and can be adapted in different contexts and settings. The proposed framework can serve as a model for reviving and revitalizing Islamic boarding school education post-COVID-19, and can help ensure sustainable development
